Actually it's usually not 3 months
The period between the first volume of the year and the second usually seem to be significantly longer. Then again, if Kamachi really have a plot bunny somewhere, 3 months sounds about right, but don't forget he still has that new Light Novel to write... As well as the Movie.

I can think of two possibilities (there could be more, but this is off the top of my head) on how he's able to accomplish so much: 1) He has several other people working with him to write the series; 2) After the success of the first volume, he planned out everything that happens in the story while leaving some parts open for opportunities.
