Good yuri/shoujo-ai series?

I need help finding a good yuri series!! I've already seen:
Mai-HiME (Loved it)(Sci-fi, action, romantic comedy)
Mai-Otome (Good)(Fantasy, action)
Strawberry Panic (Good)(Drama, romance)
Kannazuki no Miko (Terribly boring)(Fantasy, romance, action)

So what are some other good yuri anime shows? Based on my ratings of the above anime shows, what do you think I'd like?

Right now. I'm just gonna list a few anime with Yuri as a central element. Also manga IF you're interested.

Days, Akai Ito, Akatsuki-iro no Senpuku Majo, Anata to Scandal, Aoi Hana, Blue, Blue Drop, Candy Boy, Chirality, Claudine...!, Devil Lady, El Cazador de la Bruja, First Love Sisters, Girl Friends, Girls' Life, Girls' Revolution, Hayate X Blade, Hen, Ice, Iono-sama Fanatics,Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl,Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakurairo, Love My Life, Maka-Maka, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Miyuki-chan in Wonderland, Oniisama e..., Pietà, Read or Dream, Revolutionary Girl Utena, R.O.D the TV, Sasameki Koto, Shiroi Heya no Futari, Shōjo Sect, Simoun, Steel Angel Kurumi, Strawberry Shake Sweet, Stray Little Devil, Tetragrammaton Labyrinth, The Last Uniform, The Sword of Paros, Voiceful and Yami to Bōshi to Hon no Tabibito.

I'm trying this without explanations because I'm using my Playstation 3 which limits the amount of characters' I can type just now. Just ask me if you want a specific explanation on one above.

Me? Just someone who enjoy's watching Shoujo-ai.

Well I'll also recommend Maria Holic, lol. Only place to find a girl having nose bleeds commonly, being surrounded by a all female school. You'll be like "Whoa." after you watch the first episode.

Not good for most yuri fans (myself included) I think. Like someone pointed out, a good yuri story is all about the girl getting the girl, while Maria Holic is all about the girl not getting the girl (it is a parody after all).

My highest recommendations are Maria-sama ga Miteru and Simoun.

Seriously, someone explain to me how for example, El Cazador is yuri anime ? I think you're confusing something here..

@ Jedinat. Like.. woah ? Simoun has as good yuri story where girl gets the girl, like.. really ? It's just not about kissing to make some mechamachines work so they can fly ? I couldn't find Simoun good even the slightest, cause of this.

Stuff that's definitely worth of checking out ( mostly stuff from Rab's list ) : Kashimashi, Blue Drop ( brilliant, but afaik not all eps are subbed ), First Love Sisters ( manga ), Last Uniform ( manga ), Shoujo Sect (There's Anime/Manga versions, but both are Hentai, but it has real story in it, not just pointless porn, worth of checking ), Voiceful ( manga ) and Girl Friends ( Manga, and the best Yuri manga Ive ever read ).

I myself couldn't like Strawberry Panic, Maria sama ga Mitery and Simoun no matter how much I tried. I explained Simoun earlier, but SP and Maria are ... BORING. Nothing happens, the animation is old looking, and frankly speaking, the girls aren't anything special. ( Also the whole church theme is just .. meh ).

Well, maybe if you looked beyond the kissing fanservice you could see that there is a pretty decent story in there somewhere. Simoun is good because it is fairly good as an anime apart from the yuri... thus it is one of the better yuri anime. Most of them are only worth watching because of the yuri, otherwise being quite bad. (Maria-sama is not included in that, of course... I'm feeling rather hopeless for your taste--I can't see how anyone with even a passing interest in shoujo-ai/yuri can't help but love Maria-sama... but then you watch Naruto, so... )

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I went to Best Buy today and bought the whole Kashimashi series for $15!! I have yet to start it though. And Maria Holic sounds interesting. I might try that.

The crappy fanservice shows with yuri subtext gain more money compared with the quality yuri shows.

I watch Naruto ? Where ? You must be a mind reader or something, except you read my mind wrong !.

And that was the problem with Simoun. It was FANSERVICE Yuri. I want real romance Yuri, not something fanservice where the setting is built so that the girls must kiss or otherwise some weird machines are unable to fly. How unrealistic is that, anyway. That wasn't the only thing, the art really really turned me off.

I have great interested in GOOD Shoujo-Ai/Yuri series just for your information. But everyone have their own tastes. And I don't get what's good about Maria. Because really, nothing happens. It felt so boring and I was anxiously waiting for the episode to end, so I could watch something more interesting. And like I said, the animation looks old, and the girls aren't good looking, so why bother ? Yes, I am very picky when it comes to animation.

But seriously, there aren't many good shoujo-ai/Yuri animes. The only seriously good anime so far was Blue Drop, which I never got to finish because Genjo dropped it. There's so much more good and interesting stories when it comes to manga. Like Girl Friends, they really should make anime out of that. Atleast Aio Hana is coming up, though I never read the manga so I don't have high expectations.

Ah, it's in your profile.

As for the rest.. it seems you didn't give Maria or Simoun much of a chance since you dismissed them both over trivialities (in my mind) but oh well.

SHIRYUKEN! I knew you would give it thought.

That's pretty much all the suggestions you'll get that's worth a watch.

Ditto that.

I'd also agree with the suggestion for Yami to Bōshi to Hon no Tabibito it's pretty strange but I liked it quite a bit.

Also agree with the suggestion for Candy Boy, short but good.

Oh yeah.. Any chance that list might be quite outdated considering what series are listed ? -_-.

And they're not trivialities. I can't watch anything which's art does not please me. Ah, but it seems useless to talk to you because you seem to admire Simoun and Marimite over anything else.

So, you are looking for both GL animes and yuri animes? GL animes are generally the ones you listed, while yuri animes are for adults. Thus, I will only suggest some GL animes, while that you can also look up yuri animes on MAL.

Blue Drop
Candy boy
Simoun

I realize that yuri is targeted for adults, males in general, both of which I am not. Thats why I put "yuri/shoujo-ai" in the title.

I actually consider some anime shows, such as Strawberry Panic, since there are some sexual scenes, where "stuff" is shown.

Whereas other animes I consider to be shoujo-ai. An Example being Mai-HiME, since it is hinted that there may be some sexual relationships between characters, but thats about it.

In Japan there's no difference between GL and Yuri. For example the leading yuri manga magazine Yurihime is described in the publisher's website with both terms. The same with the other yuri manga magazines available. Japanese blogers also use both term for the same genre.

Candy boy for example is described in Japan as yuri, and so is Simoun.
