What a surprisingly apt trailer. Good narration and soundtrack mixed with what looks to be a fairly hard sci-fi story (for a comic book movie at least) raises my interest greatly, especially after all the negative press previously associated with the film.

I kind of thought the trailer was....boring. Just feels so generic for a teaser. Just sets the "we're going to be the super serious type of hero movie" tone and that's about it. I don't have any kind of feel for any character in this thing.
I'm not any less interested in this movie after the teaser, but I'm not more interested in it either. It was not the kind of teaser that leaves you with a "wow this is something to keep an eye on." Last year the kind of teasers that gave me that kind of excitement were Guardians of the Galaxy and Godzilla. This was just....normal.

Really, this didn't feel like a trailer for a Fantastic Four movie in the slightest. I mean, sure you've got the logo, Michael B. Jordan Flaming On, a guy stretching, and The Thing (apparently naked), but otherwise I probably would never have guessed this was anything more than a new Hard Sci-Fi movie Fox is producing .
Really just seems like Fox/Josh Trank are using the Fantastic Four property, and just some concepts from the comics, to tell the type of movie they want rather than properly adapt the FF . Just from the glimpses of them, the costumes look really boring and not very cool, so all in all I'd say the new FF suits are pretty "meh." I do think the logo was nice, so at least that's one positive .

Ok, I'm torn after watching that teaser. If I were to expect a sci-fi movie then that teaser is quite intriguing indeed. But, if I were to expect a solid F4 action adventure, this teaser feels underwhelming to say the least. Hope the actual movie is a lot better.

I don't know how should i feel about this.
On one hand, it's directed by the same guy who did Chronicle, the movie about teens who gain powers, so it could be good. However, the movie was only made so Fox can keep the Fantastic Four movie rights from returning to Marvel Studios. (Which make me feel sorry for the director since i heard he had a breakdown on set, possibly because Fox is pressuring him to make the movie a success so they can keep the movie rights for F4.)

Gives me more respect for the director, at least, even if it does nothing for how I feel about the movie, the writers, or Fox. |

The fact that everything looks so competent is what is most surprising right now. I was completely expecting another Green Lantern disaster, but, besides the lack of any real comic book adaptation going on here (which isn't necessarily bad), the basic story being told and the direction of the film looks promising. As I said, what we have looks competent, which previous to the trailers release, I was not expecting.

Remember, Green Lantern's trailer looked good too (except Hal's CGI costume, but the CGI in the trailer looked fine on everything else). They have two hours of footage to comb through to make a two minute trailer. It's not hard to make it look competent. And using Green Lantern as another example, the trailer didn't even show Parallax, which was one of the worst parts of the movie. Who's to say FF isn't doing the same?
