When everyone is asking what they are and they pop up a screen and show them flying by a couple ZAKU Warrior's and it's like...when they get near them and/or pass them, they just explode and it looks like they didn't do anything as they race by XD

The only combat scenes in Gundam that really impressed me were in Victory. In particular, the first encounter with the Zanneck was especially interesting. Instead of being just another mobile suit, it was almost a force of nature, and nothing the Gundam gang could do seemed capable of fazing it. Even better, we don't see who the pilot is until the next episode – the only indication that it was even controlled by a human were those ominous bells.

All of the other scenes that stick in my mind are character moments: the most powerful being the Miriallia's attempted murder, and a few of the Loran / Dianna scenes.

For everyone who enjoyed the scene where Char reveals himself before Garma burns to crisps, please read Gundam the Origin comic. When it gets to book 9 or so it starts to explain Char's past when he was still Casval, how he got the Char name and how he meets Garma. It also develops on the friendship between Char and Garma, there are some scenes that shows how Char actually does open his heart to Garma...it makes me think does Char actually feel for Garma when he died? We all know he's not a real bad guy....

I think Char did feel a little bad for Garma for killing him (saying "Don't take it personally. You can thank your father!" ). But the fact of his last name being "Zabi" and relating to the Zabi family and such probably outweighed the friendship?? o_O lol

My favorite scene would have to be dubbed "Norris' Last March."

In the 08th MS Team series, after Aina's confession that she thinks of him as a father figure he valiantly marches off beside his custom Gouf to make her wish come true. The moment those gates close behind him you know his fate is sealed, and that he is fully aware of it yet choose to go anyway.

Norris final battle was really nice too! I kept thinking how did the Gouf pilot itself? Was it preprogrammed? or was someone else inside helping Norris to move it out to the gate?

If MSes can be pre-programmed it would add a lot of depth to battle! Like pilots pre-programming there MSes to trick enemy pilots etc etc. Ive only seen Shinning Gundam being preprogrammed once to block Master Gundams hands but thats it....they should use more of that in the UC timeline.

Yuri Kerane's grand entrance in episode four. Pure gold if you're a yaoi fangirl like me.

Ghinius going all orgasmic in the Apsaras in episode ten was also very nice indeed.

Gundam Unicorn, Mineva Lao Zabi's hostage scene. It had some awesome dialogue and the conclusion made me laugh. 'Time's up, what is your decision?'.....'Okay, I'll now proceed to destroy your vessel'.

The best scene is probably in Mobile suit gundam where char and amuro meet face to face for the first time but amuro knows who char is while char doesnt.Great tension in that scene.

But there some great scene with amuro and char throughout the series Eg the first time they saw each other in zeta.

Victory had some great scenes aswell.

Plus some of the ovas aswell.

Going to have to join in on the Packard love here. Even moreso than the ensuing fight scene [in which Norris proves exactly how badass an ace should be], the scene above, which puts the whole thing into context. He's going out to take out those Guntanks, and he damn well does it, even if it costs him his life.
I quite liked how the Gouf was marching alongside him rather than him piloting it out. Reminded me of an old knight and his steed walking off into thier last battle together.

You may love your Flag, Graham, but I never saw it walking beside you.
Which brings me onto the other scene I wanted to mention- Graham vs. Setsuna at the end of 00 Season 1. Sure, it may have had the typical old philosophy-spouting, but I really liked how they were both just hacking bits off each other while their emotions were going wild. Something quite powerful about that, mixed in with Graham fulfilling his oath to beat a Gundam in a Flag.
[Hell, I just love Graham being a massive ham, but that's my fangirlish side talking, haha]


Edit: Just thought of a couple other bits from Unicorn. In general, I love the animation in that. Some standout moments are times like the Kshatriya flying over the heads of some civilians, and Mobile Suit wreckage falling in the colony's streets. Scenes like that, which remind the viewers of the sheer terrifying scale of Mobile Suit combat when you're an unprotected, tiny human, can really make me appreciate a fight scene. [Another minor example would be the Drei landing among the teeny-tiny trees while Ali's fighting the Thrones.]

Couple of my favorite scenes occurred in Gundam 00 (s1, 2 and movie).

In no particular order:

First one is obvious, its the last stand of humanity vs. the impending ELS.

Second is followed by Graham crashing into the ELS planetoid in order to open a way for Setsuna.

Third is less obvious, but I cheered when in S2, Kati showed up with a relief fleet to assist the Celestial Being.

And for honorable mention: Pretty much whenever Patrick shows up.
