Azure Striker Gunvolt

A side-scrolling action game by Keiji Inafune and the Mega Man Zero team. Due to release in Japan this summer and later in North America for the 3DS virtual console.

It says for the 3DS and 2DS.
IIRC There`s no 2DS in Japan.

It's coming to North America after it's released in Japan, but only to the Virtual Console.

Yeah, I mentioned this game in the Mighty No. 9 thread. I'm really looking forward to it!

I see no reason why this WOULDN'T get an overseas release, especially if Inti went through the trouble of providing a subbed trailer.....

And as a follow-up to my above post, an NA release has been confirmed!

Not that I ever doubted that, though.

However, it seems the folks in Europe may have to wait a bit longer, unfortunately.....

So as far as I can see there are only 6 bosses? Not counting the final boss and all. Wonder if we'll get confirmation on that. Really reminds me of MMZ so facing off the bosses might be more of story progression than choosing which stage to take down in order? Ofcourse this isn't megaman up inticreates and Inafune

The gender of fire hair one, I`m not sure... Guy ?

Since Sumeragi is an anti-psychic organisation, I wonder if those guys are part of Sumeragi or the rebels...
The evil corporation and noble rebel is getting old, and asking a 14 years old boy to kill a 13 years old girl...

You're right, there are 7. I think the one at the bottom is the only girl.

I also hope that things aren't so clear cut. But from the looks of things I doubt branching deep stories will be the core of this game. Speaking of which, I wonder how they'll expand Gunvolt's powers as they specified his skill set of guns and electricity. That'll be the real meat of the game I think.

@demino_hellsin : I`m just having a hard time with the whole "If it brought peace to the world, it`s evil !".

I don`t know about his power, but GV`s gun or ammo... Look at the bullet icon with the lightning(I think that`s his lightningrod bullets) next to the health bar.

Personally, I'm curious as to how this game will be structured..... will this use the select-a-stage format that's par for the course in Mega Man games, or will it take after the Zero/ZX games with a "Metroidvania"-style approach? Personally, I do believe it would be more interesting if it were the latter....

Three bosses and some of their attack

Yeah, real heavy Megaman Zero nostalgia there. Especially Daytona (I recognizes at least a few moves from MMZ games: Copy X (leg sweep), Craig (Unicorn Drop bait and switch), Phantom (fire shell drop) and an unholy combo between Heat Gemblem and Phoenix Magnion (Special Ability))

Introduction of the game systems of "Azure Striker Gunvolt", part 1.

I like how all the lights in the building react whenever GV uses his Azure Striker.

The game has a lot of RPG elements like items, equipment, but also level and experience.
I`m fine with items, but the level/exp thing... Balancing that can be hard.

The game is coming in August in Japan.
No date for NA yet...

Gunvolt's ability looks kind of overpowered. Maybe it's just the trailer, but it looks like he hits everything on screen with that electricity.

Actually it's because of his gun. It shoots out some sort of nail/bolt that acts as a electric rod, allowing Gunvolt to targe the enemies with his power.
