3. Lightning + Odin vs Chaos Bahamut.

4. Noel running through seemingly 'unstable rifts' towards a gate. And the gameplay demo screenshots also indicate that Noel is a newcomer and does not know the places around well.

5. Noel's words... "A future... where everyone lives."

I put on my detective cap and proclaim these from those 2 minutes...

Noel came from the future to change the past, he is the Future Trunks of Final Fantasy XIII.

And Serah is his mother!

Well good job done by the trailer to leave me utterly confused on what is going to be happening in this sequel . Certainly the story doesn't appear to be what I figured it would be after the ending of XIII.

Still should be interesting to have Serah playing much more of an active role and getting to understand this Noel guy. Would agree that it's probable he's kind of a Future Trunks trying to change things so the outcome is better.

I'm not sold on this as much as I was when we first heard about it.

I don't like Noel being the protagonist all of a sudden, but this DOES appear to be the very beginning of the game so who the hell knows what's going to happen.

Just saw the XIII-2 E3 trailer... meh. Yeah, ok, Lightning facing off against that dark Bahamut (flying dragon) was visually impressive... still, I'm not excited at all for this game.

FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0, this is the game I'm hyped and excited about. If they port this game to the PS3 like they did for Monster Hunter 3, I would faint from over-excitement.

Seems like they've made some improvements to the battle system. You actually have to do something more than change paradigms and hit X now. The dungeons are more than giant hallways and it looks like there might even be some towns this time. It seems like they listened to the complaints.

About Snow's absence... yeah, I don't care. At all. I'm just glad Serah is a playable character now.

Okay, if that is, in fact, the case, or anything like it, I will calm down a bit and more strongly consider purchasing the game.

I would be exceedingly pissed off if Lightning was reduced to a minor character role in this. She's the freakin' cover character of XIII. She's my damn PS3 homepage background image. She'd better be well and good all over XIII-2.

Also, interesting call on the name calling part. But I have an awful memory; when does Serah ever call Lightning

Whoopee! Dungeons don't seem to be long frigging corridors anymore, though still unsold if there's going to be actual exploration this time around (ie. branching pathways).

And confirmation that Laura Bailey still as Serah? HELLZ YEAH! Definite day one just for that.

As for Snow vs Noel... still undecided on which side of the ship battle I am there.

She might not be the actual main character but she still seems extremely important overall. I'm just happy Serah gets to be playable this time around. (I use Lightning's background as well btw, but only because I failed at getting Serah's. :c)

What was the unlock for getting Serah's?

I was fully prepared to replay the final boss fight as many times as I had to in order to get Lightning's background image. Fortunately, my way of playing RPGs allowed me to blitz the final boss and easily 5-star the sequence.

As long as Lightning is not ACTUALLY dead and she's not just playable in a dream-sequence (shades of FFVII?), I'll be somewhat placated.

I'm unsure if I'll get the game on day one ... I'm kinda skeptic how entertaining it'll be. I'm let down by the prospect of a full new cast, but a big surprise might be as well worth it. Still skeptic, my hype for XIII wasn't met so ... I might await the reviews instead of preordering like usual.

As long as Lightning is not ACTUALLY dead and she's not just playable in a dream-sequence (shades of FFVII?), I'll be somewhat placated.

As long as the characters are somewhat more unique, I'll check it out...but FFXIII didn't leave much in the development section; pretty standard crystarium paths, with some being practically impossible to use till later on, but in the end everyone maxes everything in a very FFX way. The only condition for the meta-game was having Fang or Vanille as synergists for the advanced buffs...

Hm...I guess that means that we still can't change leader during battle?

When considering the fact that a game over only occurs when the leader dies, changing leaders during battle wouldn't be so fair.
