Wow, first thing that I can say is wow (and thank you of course) at all the effort that you are putting into the thread! xD Although - without meaning to sound rude of course - it feels kind of unfair that the N-Z page gets a whole different post, while the A-M page remains in the second post of the thread, because I think if somebody (hypothetically speaking) were to be looking for a random story to read (without wanting to read something by a certain author specifically), there would be more chances for that person to look at the post and choose directly from the A-M post, rather than load another page to get to the N-Z part.

I gave the baby to my friend, Augustus Lightstar and his wife Teresa Lightstar who also were Vatican Knights, they always had wished to have a son, I... gave them my daughter and told everybody that my son had died along with his mother, I though that Agustus and Teresa would take care of her and rise her very well, but one day, Jack Velorius killed them and acording to the rules of the the Vatican Knights, Karil was forced to join the order, so I do the only thing I had left, I dispresed her, I insulted her and trated her like nothing to make sure that noone ever suspect, that she was my daughter"

I'm quite surprised nobody has bothered to ask what methods Syn would use to convince Vivio.

Not so much scary as a waste of time. Syn doesn't lose arguments easilly, and she has a lot of stamina and stuborness to get through one if you don't give up.

Those who know my writing know that I like to stick to canon as close as possible. Rather then grab in the air I prefer to use the things we know as a base, which means...

I have been spending some time thinking out Syn now, and I discovered the source of one of the stumbleblocks. As you know, Syn is linked to Vivio, and much of her character progresion and development are linked to Vivio. However, we don't know anything on how Vivio will progress. What will her personallity be? What magic style will she use? How will she use it? What will her device be? What will her goal be when she joins the TSAB? Will she join the TSAB?
So I've come to give my own analysis of what a 'canon' Vivio would look like. Me being me, this means that instead of going out and invent stuff, I like to stick to the things canon has given us. So lets begin:
Vivio: Her personallity.
The basics of a character, and arguably one of the easier parts. If we look at StrikerS, we see a girl who is always looking for warmth, always looking for people to care, and be cared about. We also see a very inquisitive girl, who likes to learn, as shown when she watches videos of her mothers lessons. We also know that she is a crybaby, and while I believe that she will grow out of crying about everything, I still think that her quick tears are a part of her personallity. Lastly, during the final episodes, we see a girl who wants to stand on her own legs, and even though she loves her mother, she doesn't want to rely on her for everything, and wants to become strong.
Vivio: Her goals.
This is where things become harder. While I think her joining the TSAB won't be in much question, the real question becomes 'what will her goals be?' will she follow her mother and become an instructor? Will she follow Hayate and become an investigator? Will she follow Fate and become an Enforcer? Or will she follow Subaru and become a member of the Disaster Managment?
My personal opinion is that she will follow either Fate the Wolkenritter's path. Her experience is similar to Fate and Hayate, in that she was saved by the people who loved her. This could put her down a path that would make her want to keep the things that happened to her happen to other people. Also, since her goal near the end of StrikerS is to 'become strong' rather then 'to teach' being on the investigator/enforcer or combat division path sounds more logical for Vivio.
The question then becomes: Which path? Either way you could make a case for it. As an Investigator/Enforcer, she would be able to seek out and safe people a la Fate, but as a member of the Combat Division, she would have ample oportunity to grow stronger.
Vivio: Her magic style.
Again a case with much diversity among the fanbase. Some say she goes Belkan, others say she will mimic her mother and go Mid. Me? I like to work with what we have, rather then grab in the air. Canon gives us Belkan magic, a rainbow collored magic collor, a penchant to melee and ranged attacks seemingly going for mid-range
Concidering a few of her abillities, we have this:

Now this is interesting, because it means two things: One, Vivio has a biological self-defence, which is apparently powerfull enough to trash a truck and several drones (due to a lack of detail lets just say it was a huge magical explosion a la Diabolic Emision) and second, she has the abillity to 'copy' spells. from people she is around. How much time is needed for her to copy is unknown, but I expect it to be a long-term thing. How much of Nanoha's and Fate's attacks she has learned is unknown, but it is not unrealistic to assume she has learned and converted all of them. She seems to favor using the Belkan ones, which ties in with the rest of her combat scenes, and of course her usage of Belkan magic, making her a close combat fighter with ranged options, or in other words: a close- to mid-ranged fighter (jeez Seven Arcs, Keroko-chan much?).
The Armor of the Saint King is still subject of debate, even in canon, but as it has been stated by Quattro to require a Relic to be able to be used to full efficiency, dubbing it as her having a powerfull defence potentional seems adequite. It should be at least that much, concidering Quattro said she could survive Dieci's S-rank blast, and it ties with her Belkan style as well.
Vivio: Her Device and Barrier Jacket.
And lastly, the case which has the widest diversety of all. Vivio's Device and Barrier Jacket. Her Jacket and Device's appearance are easy for me, sticking with what canon has given us ends us up with her black/purple Jacket which was based of Nanoha's, and her purple/green Device on her hands, which looks like a Device meant to augument her melee abillities, concidering the knuckles.
This only leaves us with the name of the Device. So far I haven't found any clues as to what it is called, and while I have no doubt that the Device is Belkan in origin, its name is a key matter in writing Vivio. I'll probably dive in mythology to get a name for it.

Vivio is still the Saint King biologically speaking. However, the Self Defence program was a program that excecuted agains Vivio's will, more importantly, the program was connected to her through the Relic. Hence why Vivio stopped fighting after Nanoha blew it apart.
So the Self Defence program is no longer a concern, as since both the Cradle and the Relic are gone, Vivio's will is her own again.
So much Vivio goodness to go around. I really should continue my PornStar!Vivio storyline. It would be nice to see how she copes with life while trying to get a significant other. Can you imagine the first date? Vivio would either Never be called back or looked at as a prostitute and would be pressured for sex that night. Poor girl probably has a lot on her plate.
But....Vampire!Fate needs to be done >.< I can't start anything else till I get some more finished. I don't want to be someone who has like 10 unfinished stories.

Ah, no, by that self-defence I meant the Property of te Sankt Kaiser, which we know was used by Vivio before she was plugged into the Cradle. Not the Auto Mode. I should clarify that, my mistake.
Anyway, she probably still has the Property, as it is genetic, but she can't be controlled by the Cradles programming anymore.

The Armor of the Saint King is still subject of debate, even in canon, but as it has been stated by Quattro to require a Relic to be able to be used to full efficiency, dubbing it as her having a powerfull defence potentional seems adequite. It should be at least that much, concidering Quattro said she could survive Dieci's S-rank blast, and it ties with her Belkan style as well.
If I remember correctly one of the StrikerS drama CD's (I don't remember what they're called) notes that Vivio is learning and quite skilled with both Belkan AND Mid (At age 5, prodigy much ). (Only pointing it out because you like to stick with Canon)

This only leaves us with the name of the Device. So far I haven't found any clues as to what it is called, and while I have no doubt that the Device is Belkan in origin, its name is a key matter in writing Vivio. I'll probably dive in mythology to get a name for it.
I think her jacket and device were only for that moment type of things personally (that's why RebelS has Falling Soul and not rainbow glowy.) I can't see older Vivio using or even remembering a jacket that's tied to the Scaglietti incident or using a device that for all purposes doesn't exist. (My personal theory is that they were created by the Saint Cradle in response to Vivio needing them)

Erio Mondial dodged the incoming shots from the training drones. Jumping from left to right, he managed to get close enough and hit the two drones with Strada. The drones were hit with such force that they flew several meters away before they burst into flames.
“Very good Erio. It looks like you have improved in both your capability of speed and strength. How does it feel?”
Erio brushed his hands across his pants to clean off some dirt and stood up.
“I don’t know Fate. I don’t feel any difference.”
“That’s probably because you are used to it. Continue the training and I’ll be back in a while. I’m going to see how Caro is doing.”
“Ok, I’ll do that.”
Erio turned to the control panel that floated beside him and entered some commands. Three new drones appeared and he prepared himself for another fight.
Some hundred meters away, Caro Ru Lushe was training with her dragon, Friedrich, practicing new attack and support spells.
“Friedrich! Blast Flare Spike!”
Friedrich took a deep breath and unleashed a very thin but fast flying fire projectile that impacted on the doll with body armor in front of them. It made a clear cut through the armor and out on the other side. The girl smiled and the little dragon flew around her happily.
“Good job Fried! We did it!”
“I see this is going quite well.”
The girl straightened up and blushed a little. Fate was standing right behind her, amused.
“W-well it took a few tries but Fried managed to do it finally. I had to provide him with some speed increasing spells to get it to move that fast, but-“
Fate bent down beside her and laid a hand on her head.
“Loosen up Caro, you don’t have to be so nervous. It’s just fine if you help him along the way. It increases your capability to support each other in combat.”
The girl simply nodded but let a small smile show on her lips.
“Now, continue practicing and I’m sure you’ll master it in no time”.
Fried flew around them both and chirped, urging Caro on to make him do something. The girl pointed towards a new target that had appeared.
“Fried! Blast Flare!”
Fate stood at a distance and watched as the fireball hit the body armor and set it on fire, melting the outer layer. A communication panel suddenly opened in front of her. On it Hayate’s face appeared and she did not look happy.
“Hello Hayate. Something on your mind?”
“Yes and it’s something important. Two hours ago we lost communications with one our outposts, south-west from here. They have some newly discovered technology that they are researching and I guess it has something to do with that. I want you to take the Forward Lightning Squad and investigate this matter.”
Fate didn’t like how Hayate behaved as she was telling her this. She looked afraid or nervous.
“Isn’t that a little over the top? Sending three people out to do a single investigation? I could do it by myself.”
“Fate, there are some unknown factors to this matter. We don’t want to take any chances. Just get out there and find out what happened.”
She cut the connection. Fate was really worried now. Hayate had never withheld information from her and judging from how she behaved she was scared of something.
Fate shrugged it off. Hopefully nothing special, she thought and brought up the communications panel again to tell Caro and Erio to come and meet up with her.

A few minutes later they were on their way. Fate was some meters in front of the other two, who flew on the back of Friedrich. At the speed they held, they would probably reach the outpost within fifteen minutes. Dark and heavy clouds covered the sky and Fate felt it was probably going to rain, possibly with some thunder too.
“How is it going you two?” she asked the youngsters with telepathy.
“Just fine Fate,” Erio replied, “but I think it’s going to rain soon.”
“Yeah...I think so too.”
They continued to fly in silence. When they were about four minutes from the outpost, Fate saw a big pillar of smoke rising into the sky.
“Caro, Erio! I’m going to fly ahead and see what’s going on. Meet me at the top of that hill.” She pointed out a steep hill overlooking the outpost.
The two youngsters nodded and Fate was on her way. She increased her speed and reached the outpost within seconds. She landed on the roof to the research facility and surveyed the area. She brought her hand up quickly and covered her nose. The stench of burnt flesh, blood and metal wasn’t exactly refreshing. Bodies lay around the compound in small puddles of blood. Most of the bodies had big cuts on them and they had lost several of their limbs that lay either close by or several yards away. It was carnage.
From somewhere a metallic sound reached her ears. She made Bardiche ready and turned towards the noise. It came from the entrance to the facility. The doors had been slashed or cut open, indicating that something or someone was inside. At the position that she was, she had a perfect view over the entrance as three big humanoids exited the facility, carrying something between them.
The figures wore coats, had a scythe in one hand and metal limbs. Fate didn’t know what to make out of them. The three humanoids suddenly stopped and dropped what they were carrying. A small device came out from their necks, rotating as if it were scanning the area. Fate didn’t take any chances and flew away to the place where she was supposed to meet the other two.
Caro and Erio had just arrived when Fate returned.
“Did you see anything?” they asked.
“The outpost is totally destroyed along with its forces. I also spotted some strange humanoids carrying something. I think they noticed me.”
The two youngsters looked worried. I shouldn’t have said that, stupid me, Fate thought.
“Don’t worry I’m sure they don’t know where I went. I’m going to report this to Hayate so you can rest until I’m finished.”
She opened a com link to the base.
“Fate?” Hayate’s face appeared on the screen, “How is the situation?”
“Not good, the outpost is destroyed and we have unknown enemy forces in the area.”
“Any survivors?”
“As far as I could tell,” Fate shook her head, “none.”
Hayate turned to something off-screen and wrote some commands.
“Ok, I’m sending som-,” static began to interrupt the transmission, “-rcment to you-...ay where you a-…”
“Hayate? The link is very bad; I can’t understand what you are saying.”
“Situa-...stay the-“
The link went dead and Fate stared at the screen. The com link usually didn’t break off like that, something was doing this. She turned around towards the outpost and spotted them. Two of the humanoids were running towards her while the third was behind them and fired something into the air.
“Caro, Erio, take co-“
The ground exploded and threw dirt and smoke up in the air. The three mages were thrown in opposite directions. Freidrich had managed to avoid the shot and flew directly to Caro. Fate felt blood in her mouth and slowly stood up. The two youngsters had been knocked out, but the dragon was right beside them, awaiting orders for what to do.
“Freid!” Fate screamed, “Take those two back to the base. I’ll take care of these things.”
Friedrich growled and picked up the two mages with his mouth and flew away.
Aside from a few wounds, Fate seemed to be okay. Bardiche hadn’t been hit at all by the explosion. Her vision was somewhat unclear, but she didn’t spot the two things anywhere until she looked up into the air. They had made a massive leap and were currently on their way down towards her.
[Sonic Move]
The two humanoids smashed down with their claw-like hands where she had been just a second ago. They looked confused for a moment but quickly reacquired their target.
Fate stood on a distance and prepared herself.
[Plasma Lancer]
The things didn’t even try to avoid the attack. It made a direct hit on their bodies and enveloped them in smoke. One of them, seemingly unharmed, suddenly flew out the smoke and managed to cut her on the ankle. Fate was amazed at their speed. Just that they managed to hit her was outstanding. True, she hadn’t been prepared for it but nonetheless.
The inflicted wound was deep and blood gushed out of it. She decided she couldn’t stay there any longer and was just about to fly away when the third humanoid, which hadn’t done anything besides firing the first shot, landed beside her and took a hold of her waist with its claw-like hand. Fate squirmed as the pressure around her increased and the thing brought her up close to its metallic face. Words began to form on the surface.
The thing had some sort of paralyzing effect and she stopped moving, concentrating on the words.
“We…named Reapers…you worthy of further…evaluation…”
That was all she could make out. The rest was gibberish. She felt her mind drifting away and the pressure on her released. She fell down to the ground and lost consciousness.

Blood. Bodies. Metal. The glow of metallic eyes. The claw extended and reached for her. She was in a corner and couldn’t run away. Bardiche was nowhere in sight and she wore only a lab coat. She felt the claw grabbing her and the face she had seen appeared again. It displayed new words.
“You will not return. You will become us.”
Fate tried to get loose but to no avail. She didn’t want to become them. No way. What was this?
“Fate! Fate!”
A voice reached her head and she wondered where it came from. Was that Nanoha’s voice? Yes, it was! But whe-
She didn’t come any further as she flew up from her bed with Nanoha looking over her.
“N-nanoha? Where am I?”
She looked around and saw white walls, a white roof and white beds. She wore a hospital dress.
“Oh Fate, I’m so glad you’re okay,” Nanoha said and hugged her.
“What happened? How did I get here?”
Nanoha released her grip and looked at her.
“The reinforcements Hayate sent out arrived at the outpost and saw you laying there. Your ankle had been deeply wounded and you had a lot of other wounds around your body. The doctors are saying you’re going to be fine though.”
Fate relaxed for a moment when she suddenly remembered what had attacked her.
“Where did the Reapers go? Did you see any of them?”
“Reapers? What are you talking about? No one saw anything out of the ordinary,” Nanoha answered, worry in her voice. “Just rest for now and we will clear this up in the morning.”
“But-“
“No buts. Tomorrow.”
Nanoha stroked Fate’s hair gently and left the room. The bed made a noise as Fate let herself drop back. It didn’t take long until she slept deeply.

My breathing was more loud then I remembered, and my heart felt like it could explode from my chest. I knew I shouldn't be nervous, I had done all I could to prepare for this day, but I still couldn't help but feel like I wanted to run away and do this tommorow. A hand landed on my shoulder and gave it a reasuring squeeze, I turned my head to see Syn smiling at me. That calmed me down, and put my mind back on track. That's right, the times of being a little kid were over, today we would officially become cadets of the the Time Space Administration Bureau. We had worked hard to catch up on the distance our parents had created for us, and today we would take another big step towards that goal. We won't be the little kids that our parents had to watch over any longer, we'll be the children that proudly defended the future alongside them. I smiled and straightened my back as I prepared to move forward, to the future.

Nanoha leaned her head back against the cold metal wall of the helicopter as it rumbled in the late afternoon sky. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep thinking that unconsciousness would make the trip go faster. She slipped into twilight just as the bulky helicopter hit turbulence.
“You ok, Captain?” asked one of the airmen mages in her group.
“Yeah,” she winced while rubbing the back of her head.
“Captain! Your arm!” yelled the young airman.
A medical mage quickly moved over to the confused commanding officer. Nanoha looked at her arm and noticed that there was blood dripping from the back of it, just above the elbow.
‘Bastards!’ she thought, ‘I didn’t think that they’d get through my barrier jacket.’
She knew it wasn’t deep. She didn’t even notice it till the young mage mentioned something, but she knew that combat-related injuries required paperwork. She hated paperwork. The medical mage continued to tickle her arm with a small green healing sphere while Nanoha thought about the forms she would now have to fill out.
It had been a very hard three-day mission. A group of Paxon rebels had once again gotten a hold of Scaglietti’s old machines and extended the predicted six-hour mission to a hectic three-day firefight. How they were getting them would be for Hayate’s investigation team to figure out. Nanoha sighed. She could guarantee that Hayate would draft her to help with that. More paperwork.
The healing light dimmed and finally disappeared.
“I think you’re fine, Captain Takamachi, but you’ll have to get a quick scan on base to make sure whatever it was that hit you wasn’t laced with something,” the medic stated.
“Sure thing,” answered Nanoha through a forced smile.
She examined the rip in her barrier jacket and quickly noticed that it wasn’t the only one. When she left three days ago, her barrier jacket was stunningly white and clean. Now riding on the old, unairconditioned helicopter, it was ripped and dull gray colored by spots of her blood and grease from the machines. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and lifted her collar in an effort to cool herself down, but nearly wretched as the fumes from her three-day unwashed body greeted her olfactory senses.
In a word, she was miserable. She was dirty, stinky, hungry, and sleep deprived. She rolled her head to alleviate some of the stress, but all it did was make her neck pop. It was going to hurt in the morning. She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry. She wanted a shower, but all she could do was sit on this bouncing transport helicopter with twenty other grimy mages until they reached the air force base.
‘Why the hell am I doing this?’ thought Nanoha to herself when she gave up on getting any sleep and noticed that her right butt cheek had fallen asleep due to the cramped traveling conditions.
She was irritated that her butt cheek was getting more sleep than her.
‘I don’t have to be here. I’ve made enough money to retire nicely,’ Nanoha thought internally, ‘It never stops. I keep thinking that the next battle will let us have peace, but another idiot group always comes along and screws it up! It never ends! This makes it six major missions in two months, and I know they’ll send me out again after my mandatory four-day leave. Oooo…maybe I’ll get injury time.’
She looked at her torn sleeve. She was so tired. Her limbs felt like they were sinking into the floor because of the exhaustion. She also knew that her sleepy thoughts were hollow. She knew that she would volunteer for another mission as soon as she could.
‘Why do I do this?’ she thought again while rubbing her eyes.
The helicopter finally landed, and the young mages disembarked to their barracks on the western side of the base. Nanoha got out last and trudged to the transport vehicle that would take her to the officer residences a few miles off base.
“Captain,” the staff sergeant greeted her, “Medical Bay is waiting for you to check out. They promise that it’ll be quick. We just want to be sure.”
Nanoha returned the salute and nodded as she turned toward the small medical building. She sat in silence while medical mages poked and prodded her.
‘They don’t care about me,’ she thought cynically, ‘They just care about if and when I’ll be able to fight again.’
After an hour of exams, the doctors gave Nanoha her ‘All-Clear’ paperwork to sign and date with a promise that there would be more to sign and write after she had returned from leave.
“Why am I still doing this?” she whispered to herself.
She trudged to the young mechanic standing by the transport vehicle holding the passenger door open for her.
“Thank you,” replied Nanoha as her weary body collapsed onto the cushioned seat.
After she had buckled herself in, her eyes closed in a dreamless sleep as the vehicle sped down the highway.
“Captain?”
Nanoha’s eyes opened as she remembered where she was. Unfortunately, the small amount of sleep had made her even more exhausted if that were possible.
“Captain?” the young mage nudged her again, “You’re home.”
He ran to the other side of the van and opened the door for his superior. When she got out, he gave her a quick salute and ran back to the driver’s side. The car pulled away, and Nanoha watched as the taillights faded in the distance.
Her back hurt now, and she limped her way toward the front door.
“Why am I still doing this?”
She could see that the lights were still on.
‘Maybe Fate will be awake,’ she thought as she opened the front door.
“I’m home,” she said while steeling her body in anticipation of Fate or Vivio jumping on her.
To her surprise, no one came, and no one answered.
“Hello? Anyone home?” she yelled with a hint of panic.
“We’re out on the deck, sweetheart!” replied Fate’s muffled voice.
Nanoha moved quickly to the back of the living room to the glass doors. The door rumbled as it slid open. Fate got up from her lawn chair and kissed Nanoha in greeting.
“Glad you’re safe. Hayate said that you had run into more obstacles than intelligence knew about.”
“Military intelligence is an oxymoron,” Nanoha replied forcing a laugh.
“You look terrible,” said Fate as the light from the living room shined on the woman in front of her.
“Thanks,” said Nanoha sarcastically.
Fate giggled, “We’re almost done here. Then, I’ll give you a warm bath and put you to bed, crankypants.”
“I’m not cranky,” muttered Nanoha.
She was ready to debate this minuscule point with Fate until a slight interruption came into view.
“Mama! Mama!” cried Vivio as she came running up Nanoha.
She was in her pajamas, and her hair was combed out in preparation for bed. However, she held sparklers in each hand that smoked and crackled in the warm summer night air. She waved the sparkling wands in the air creating shapes that floated away as she laughed with glee.
‘That’s why I do this,’ Nanoha realized, ‘I want a world where my wife can drink a glass of wine on her deck in peace while watching our daughter play without a care in the world. If my discomfort for six missions in two months can pay for that, I’ll consider it time well spent.’
“Watch me, Nanoha-mama!” shouted Vivio as she drew a heart in the sky with a sparkler.
“I’m watching, Vivio”
She couldn’t keep the smile from emerging on her face even though every muscle screamed as she did it.
The box of sparklers ran out, and Vivio yawned while saying that she wasn’t sleepy. Fate picked her up, and the little girl soon was snoring on Fate’s shoulder.
“Let me put her to bed, and then let’s get you into the tub,” said Fate as she started to carry Vivio to her bedroom.
Nanoha ran her fingers through Vivio’s hair with a smile on her face as she watched her daughter sleep without a trace of fear. She threw her tired, sore arms around Fate and kissed her gently.
“What was that for?” asked Fate blushing from the pleasant surprise.
“Happy Freedom Day, Fate.”

There was a sudden and brief knock at the door, and it opened. Fate jumped, slipping out from Nanoha’s clutches beneath the now crumpled sheets and stood up. Nanoha flailed, still half asleep; she had had Fate pinned to the bed in a tight embrace, whereby her head was tucked (as best she was able) between Fate’s small breasts, her arms enveloping Fate’s midriff, and her legs entwined with Fate’s.
“My pillow – come back,” she moaned sleepily. “Fate...”
“Mama, it’s not what it looks like!” stammered Fate.
Lindy had just entered the room to wake Fate, unaware Nanoha had spent the night. Her brief expression of shock changed quickly to a kind smile, and then as she looked at Fate, to a grin of amusement. “I’ll leave you two alone. Just come downstairs when you would like some breakfast, Nanoha-chan,” she said, before adding. “You might want to get dressed, Fate-chan.”
Fate turned to Nanoha after Lindy had left the room, a look of confusion on her face.
Nanoha yawned, and raised a hand from under the misaligned duvet without getting up. Suspended on her forefinger was Fate’s black bra.
As Fate’s eyes met with her absent item of clothing, she froze. Her face turned a deep red, her cheeks burning. She dove back underneath the sheets and began to sob quietly. Nanoha yawned once again, and turned over to comfort her cowering companion.
“It’s ok, Fate,” said Nanoha. “It isn’t anything Lindy-san hasn’t seen before.”
Fate curled, cat-like, up into a ball under the sheets. Unable to get close enough to Fate’s lips, Nanoha kissed Fate’s nose before getting out of bed. Fate unfolded herself, took her bra from Nanoha and put it on before burying her head in the pillow Nanoha had lain on.
“Nanoha’s scent…” she whispered to herself, breathing in deep.
Nanoha dressed herself, her clothes now crumpled; for they had been thrown haphazardly across the foot of Fate’s bed the night before and had made their way onto the floor sometime during the night. Her stomach rumbled audibly, but she didn’t seem concerned. Receiving no reaction from Fate, Nanoha skipped over to the bed, took both sheet and duvet in a firm grasp, and pulled them from Fate in a single swift motion. Fate wriggled about defiantly, so Nanoha leapt onto her and began to tickle her sides feverishly. Fate cried out, and attempted to retreat, but Nanoha persisted, albeit in a less aggressive manner. Nanoha delighted at the variety of misinterpretable moans that Fate produced, an evil glint in her eyes.
“What do you want to do today, Fate? We have half the day to spend together before cram school, let’s not waste it idly!” she said, and poked Fate in the side once again. “And we have school tomorrow. Ah, I can’t wait to tell our friends that Fate is my girlfriend…”
Fate sighed, knowing that Nanoha was gearing up for a culturally radical suggestion.
“We could kiss – in public,” she said smiling widely, before uttering in sweet tones; “That would be so romantic, Fate.”
“Nanoha,” began Fate, sombre. “I’m not sure that would be such a good idea.”
“Fate is too shy,” teased Nanoha.
“I just don’t think-“
“Submission will not change this world, Fate,” interrupted Nanoha in an uncharacteristically serious tone.
Fate fell silent momentarily. “I don’t care what we do or where we go, Nanoha, I just want to be with you.”
Nanoha grinned. “You want to bathe with me as well as sleep with me?”
“You know that isn’t what I meant,” replied Fate, and then added quietly, diverting her gaze. “Yes, I do.”
Something outside the window caught Nanoha’s eye. There was a bright red flash on the horizon, so bright it stained the room violet from such a great distance. Nanoha acted reflexively, grabbing the unaware girl before her by the wrist, and pulled her away from the bed with a violent tug. Fate was about to shout when the wall exploded inward. A lump of concrete caught her in the forehead and she crumpled into Nanoha’s arms. Splintered wood rained down upon them, Nanoha shielding her unconscious lover. She stared down at her palms; on both blood was smeared. Fate’s blood.

Vivio blinked as the blindfold was removed from her eyes. She was in her Aunt Shari’s lab, a place she’d been a lot lately as she liked looking at what ever weird thing Shari was working on. Vivio, however, didn’t know what she was there for.
She looked at her two mothers and her aunt who were looking very pleased with themselves. They were gathered around a pedestal covered in what looked to be a dishrag.
The thirteen year old tilted her head to the side. “What’s that?”
Shari looked proud and ripped off the towel. Underneath was a small box, orange in color, with a bracelet beside it. “Meet Falling Soul.”
Vivio just looked confused. “What?”
“Nya ha ha,” Nanoha rubbed the back of her head, “Your new device.”
Fate picked the cube off the pedestal and placed in Vivio’s hands. “Shari designed him for you.”
Shari looked excited. “He’s the first of his kind. A new AI type! Intelligent, capable of learning, I’m not even sure how he works sometime!” With every word she grew happier and happier.
Vivio shrugged, “Mm thanks.”
[Way to be thankful.]
Vivio jumped back nearly dropping the device in her hands, “It talked! Like Raising Heart and Baridiche!”
[Intelligent devices tend to do that.]
The first set up
“Falling soul SET UP!” Vivio raised her device above her head, waiting for it to transform.
[I don’t feel like it.] If Vivio didn’t know better she’d say the device was yawning.
“Eh?!?” Vivio brought him down to eye level. “What?”
[Yeah I’m not in the mood. Find another device.]
“But but you’re my device!”
Was it sighing? [Whatever. But I won’t be happy about it]
Vivio tried not to think about the fact she was having this conversation with a machine. “Just set up already!”
[Don’t be in such a rush.]
“If this was a battlefield I’d be dead!”
[Oh well maybe then I wouldn’t get stuck with a brat.]
“Maybe I should just throw you away,” Vivio threatened.
[That’s not nice]
“Hypocrite.”
[Setting up] The device changed form into a long glaive. Something was a bit off about it though.
“You’re orange!”
[I never would have noticed if you hadn’t told me] If the device had eyes he would have rolled them.
“That’s not really a scary color.”
[Oh forgive me for not being ‘scary’]
“Couldn’t you be a different color? Any different color?”
[No.]
“But—”
[No.]
“Pleas—”
[No.]
Vivio sighed, “Why couldn’t you be nice and compliant?”
