What a twist it would be if Akuha had gained her vamprisim through something similar to that mask...

And Shinso - I can't decide on which time period to have the Akasha x Tsukune fanfic (This is actually a serious attempt so none of the perverted stuff will be in this one).
Medieval or Modern?

Modern Day Akasha X Tsukune Fanfic

A fanfic where Akasha meets Tsukune in the modern times and acknowledges him as Moka's lover and her son

Thad be a great fanfic, i dont really mind weather it were to have perverted stuff or not.

Hmmm, according to a note I've just seen, One Manga is shutting down shortly.
Hopefully *the other famous site* won't ban R+VII or we'll be in trouble if we want to keep up with the releases and another group takes over.

*If this is too edge of topic to whats allowed I'll happily remove it*

Edit: Just went there and I see that it's true. Goodness, I better start looking to save all the best series before they all go down. There are other sites for now tho

Um, doesn't Frankyhouse do the scans? They're not shutting down, that I know of.

All I'm going to say is, I've found new sites (which, in order for them not to end up like OM, I shall not be mentioning here), and worst comes to worst, just use the scanlator's actual websites

... besides, I've been using less and less of OM recently.

and now looking at MH, their new idea I just might support... as I said in a survey elsewhere, I won't mind paying a small monthly fee to get up-to-date-with-Japanese-releases English releases

You'll just have to download them to your computer and read them, instead of using an online reading site.

Otaku need to keep their l33t skills up somehow - it's why most of us are 'above-average' with anything internet/computer related

And yeah, I just prefer the scanlation dialog to the officially translated one. There are nuances in the way the characters speak that are so easy to miss if you use a localized translation.

Official translations gives you Abominable Snow girl and Koko's in R+V.

official translations also are about half a year behind and cost me around $12 for a hack job when compared to fan scanlations... I only buy the manga to support the author, and I'll otherwise just read the series in the store

Same here. What pains me is the author sees so little from the single book that we buy.

If Ikeda-sensei ever does decide to bypass the publishers and post his work independantly, I'll pay a subscription for it - at the very least, he deserves a lot more money than what he's getting.

Seconded... I will admit, I haven't bought the first volume of SII yet, but I'm waiting for volume II to come out this month, which features Tsukune vs. Doppelganger (and the "cure")

dammit, if only these would be released more often... I can understand a series being slow in the beginning, since you're taking a gamble on its popularity, but whe its on the Bestseller list frequently, you'd think they'd learn to speed up the process...

Unfortunately, in order for that to happen, this series would have to stop serialization. In other words, it won't be published in a magazine. And because it has already been serialized, the publishing company owns some rights to the series. So any hope of the author controlling everything is null. There are some authors who are honored to have their manga licensed and released over seas, but there is only so much they can do to help that, same with anime adaptations.

This really isn't the best place to talk about this though. Let's head over to the Raw Providers and Reading Sites Issues thread to talk more. You'll find more info about this topic there as well.

Here's something I found interesting in the US Trade & Tariff papers concerning Japan that actually has a rather direct link (if only in name) of the subject this thread is dedicated to.

Spoiler:
Seems one of the places mentioned has 'Rosario' as an official name. A boring piece of trivia, but I found it to be quaint.

Ahh, my fingers hurt now... T_T But it's for a good thing.

Spoiler for VERY ROUGH story for Shinso ^^;:

Took me a total of 1.5 hours to crank this baby out. So, does it have potential to become a mini-series?

Well, it certainly has potential... but that's cruel, man, of her to leave him with only her name... now he's going to become the shounen hero who searches for someone, not knowing where they are, because his life was saved, and he'll have to go to the vampire/supernatural world, where he'll meet up with friends of the person who saved his life, and find out there's a force from a war long ago out to destroy the world again, and they were stopped last time by the person he searches for, and now he must stop them again in his quest to find the one who saved his life

er wait... I'm thinking of my other favorite manga series
