Rika was certainly in a bad mood the entire episode.
Rena fanservice is great. But we do get to find out a few things about Takano and Tomake. Tomeke is into nurse cosplay photo shoots, and Takano has two things...secretly like cosplay fetish, but finds it embarrasing, and is possibly a closet lesbian. But Rena fanservice is where its at. The return of all her modes makes me happy.

It was a pretty fun episode that's for sure. Besides people got some interesting possible pairings for Rena. Or maybe the beginning of a Rena harem if you look at it one way .

I loved Rika and Sakoto's facial expression when Rika was "talking to herself".
On a completely separate note. Something that's been bothering me about rei. This takes place after Kai, right? Why are they so friendly towards Takano?

why? They finally won in that last one, and Hanyuu said that she probably didn't have enough strength left over to do it again. And I don't see why they would risk everything starting over in a new world when the finally succeeded in one after hundreds of years.

Here's one answer I think everyone can agree on...
This episode is NON-CANON. (Which I admit. Upsets me a little.) As far as I can recall, only episodes 2-4 in Rei were the only episodes with a distingished position in the Higurashi timeline.

Rule #1 with Higurashi.
Anything that could of happened, has probably happened. Yes, there is a "main" story arc that consists of 8 or so continuities, but according to Rika herself, she had been traveling between worlds for "decades" meaning that she has visited thousands of different worlds, she even spoke of hopeless worlds where K1 never even transferred to Hinamizawa, hell, I wouldn't be surprised if she traveled to a zombie world at one point. Point is, pretty much everything in Higurashi is "cannon" because this is one anime where if it could have happened, it probably did. |

In that case I guess it was one of those branched-off worlds that has no official connection to the main plot of the series.... .....which still means it's non-canon. It may still have "happened", yet this chapter did absolutely nothing to contribute to part of the overall Higurashi plotline, meaning it's non-canonical to the series.
