Awesome. I basically completed all Disgaea games including the post game stuff. Except some minor things. Still remember my uber female ninja and magic knight who were ridiculous. Next Summer it looks like I'll be taking a break from fighting games to complete Disgaea 4. Can't wait for the online to show off.

Ooh, high rez sprites. The main cast looks better than 3, but what really matters is the gameplay I guess. 3 had some annoying design choices mixed in with some good ones.

I enjoyed playing through Disgaea 1 and 2, so hopefully this one improves the concept. I just fail to see any new stuff, since the game still seems to follow in the same vein as the three previous parts. I have played those to death already, so what's new? Except for the censorship. Otherwise it doesn't seem that different >.>

IMO, they should make the story at least somewhat believable, the campaign much more challenging, limit the maximum amount of generic characters, get rid of mandatory campaign characters, add some deeper meaning to the item world (beyond grinding), 10x higher resolution, more level dynamics, smarter AI, and some proper voice-acting -or at least a possibility of choosing the original voices.

It'd be great if they had events that could potentially change the storyline, like Persona 3 Portable in which a character death is avoided due to maxing out that person's social link.

I thought it happens all the time ? Like when you tried to defeat the overlord in chapter 2 at Disgaea 3, or beting the last stage by just using Almaz. .

Oh, and the scans. . the sprite upgrade looks really beautiful ;_;

The graphic looks nice, but the strong point of Disgaea game has always been gameplay and story. It looks that gameplay wise they add something to make it not that boring, so all that is left is will the story live up to it's predecessor?

I noticed that the man-tower system got upgraded...perhaps ? I never used them much back in Disgaea 1-3 (Though Disgaea 3 forced me to use it a little), so I dunno whether it's really got upgraded or not. . . I really hope that they're not just going to upgrade the tower system, but also other things gameplay-wise. The geoblock back in D3 is a great idea..I hope they're going to show some new things about it in this game.

Oh I meant events that don't potentially end your game. If I recall, beating the overlord and using only Almaz gives you a different ending (which is a non-standard gameover basically). I was hoping for something along the lines of letting characters die, and then continuing in the game without them.

Oh, and the graphics do look amazing. By the way, I've never used the tower system in Disgaea 3 because it was ineffective and sharing experience was done easier with magichange IMO.

They actually add certain element on tower so that you can move and pick item while still in tower
