Hata said he had made 5 endpoints for this series so that he could end it anytime he wants. After all, it was unclear from the start how far this series could go. This arc is one of those endpoints he had set up. And by the look of what he says, the inheritance matter will be solved in Mykonos arc.

I think it was a bit complicated to end the story in this arc. The biggest part of the plot, Mikado's motives, are yet to be solved. Not to mention we still have no info on Hayate's brother, or Himegami. There's also the ring Athena gave Hayate, which I'm sure will return at some point (and that ring is most likely in Japan).

Anyway, I think the manga can easily go for 100 more chapters.

I don't think it would be that many though. Considering what he said, he could probably pull ut some tricks and then make it end in two to ten chapters if he want to.

When I said 'After all, it was unclear from the start how far this series could go.' I meant that the mangaka didn't know whether his series would be popular enough to go on that much. In Japan, if a series is not popular enough, it gets stopped mercilessly in the middle even if it's in the middle of the plot. One of the cases is 'Katte ni Kaizou' the series which Hata used to work for as an assistant. If this series ever ended here, some questions may remain as mysteries, and the mangaka would have to answer them in the spare page of the last volume or do something on the last chapter.

Spoiler for For 220. The plot finally moves a bit again...:

1. Mikado visits Nagi's house to congratulate Klaus's birthday.
2. Hina runs away.
3. The trio tries to distract Hayate by their swimsuits, but fails.
4. Sakuya comes to Mykonos to search for Isumi.
5. Aika gets a letter from Mikado. The letter's mostly about boring stuffs, but at the end of it, it says ' The requirement to get Sanzenin's fortune is to either break or obtain Hayate's Outama (the stone pendant he received from Mikado)'.
6. Sakuya's older brother, Gilburt appears again.

- So, just as with Maria, nothing happened with Hinagiku.
- I wonder why would Mikado send Aika a letter.
- Regarding the new requirements to obtain the fortune, since defeating Hayate is no longer needed, perhaps Athena will be able to achieve her goal? Why is it that I believe Mikado wants someone to succeed at snatching the fortune? Is it possible Athena is falling into a trap?
- Anyway, uhh... Gilbert again. I guess Hayate will easily deal with him on the next episode. I wouldn't be surprised if Machina shows up, right after Gilbert goes away.

Can I ask you guys all one thing even if it's slightly off topic?

Volume 19 of the tankoubon is coming out in Japan next week, and I'm going to pop over to my closest torano ana to pick it up. But my question is, how do you guys keep track of chapter numbers if you're reading tankoubon?

I only just finished the chapter where Athena is in Athens saying that she needs to open the gate back to her Royal garden because of Sanzenin Mikado. Which chapter is this? :O

Well, yes and no... What primuler translated was...

Also... um... I dunno how I should put this... Well, Hayate has feelings for Maria and Hinagiku(At least Hata mentioned that they are in the 'strike zone'. For unknown reason, he excluded Ayumu.)

Which really just say that Hayate is not 100% oblivious

Ayumu. I don't know. I kinda feel like Ayumu story is being resolved quite nicely even if she doesn't get Hayate. She could have just stayed a normal girl and have a normal life, but instead she's gone so far.

Her closest friend is Hina! She and Nagi also have a weird but interesting friendship. Out of all of Ayumu's story I remember, Hayate isn't the best one. Now her story and Hina, Wow.

The thing is, compared to all the girls (Athena excluded, because she was quite direct and met Hayate under different circumstances), Ayumu is the one that has worked the hardest. In fact, she's the only one who has told Hayate about her feelings for him (and she did that a long time ago to boot). Not only that, but even if she's been sort-of-rejected before, she's kept on trying to win Hayate's heart. And that's not all, unlike the other girls who can meet Hayate quite easily (they either live with him, or go to the same academy as him), Ayumu can only meet him from time to time. Yet, she still doesn't give up. She's splendid.

On the other hand, if they all decide to live togethr and share Hayate, I think all the girls will grow closer together as friends and such hehehe

That's the fun thing about Ayumu. She keeps on growing and growing and growing and never giving up. It's like the energizer bunny. No matter what happens in the end, I think her story will be fine.
