The fight between Watson and Kinji was pretty good anyway. Kinji was saying how he won't let Watson take Aria away from him (before Watson's gender was revealed); and Aria being taken away from him activated Berserker Hysteria Mode, something that only occurs when a girl was taken away from him. That spoke a lot about how important Aria was to him.

And then there was how Watson and Aria talking about their family and work back in UK. While Kinji never came right out to say he was jealous of Watson's connection with Aria, he was annoyed how Watson had so much of Aria's trust as they were talking about Aria's younger sister; something Kinji didn't know about.
Though Kinji did say he can't really complain, as he never told Aria about Kinichi/Kana back then.

And I have to disagree with you about how adding a new protagonist is a good idea - it's not like this is TAMnI, where we get Accelerator and Shiage after Touma I doubt adding a new main character after 8 volumes is a good idea, Index LN managing to pull it off is more of a exception than a rule IMO.

Also....Reki doing a long range billard shot with her Dragunov is definitely one of the most stunning feats pulled of in this whole series so far....

Nonsense! LA Noire added a new protagonist at the end and that wasn't so bad ! 8 volumes isn't that long! There's still time for a change (or add-on) !

After the event with Aria, Kinji returns home, where Kaname was cooking. During some lovey-dovey stuffs (such as Kaname insisting on the fact that Kinji loves her the most), Kinji noticed that Kaname's finger was injured.

At school, Kinji received a message during English course from Watson (who throew him a piece of paper), telling him to come at 5 PM in the art room. He went there alone. There, Watson tells Kinji about the R-Buteis, G III, IQ 290, what Flere821 said, with G III's charisma and such. After that, Watson asks for the 'Training' or the 'Play' with Kinji. She has chosen a 'woman manager in community activities' (please correct that). During the time Watson was changing into the clothes for that, Kinji thought that someone was behind the door. Seems that it was only his imagination. Then, Watson finished changing and seems that she wants Kinji to stare at her because 'it is written in the act' (Watson wrote it herself, BTW). After that, they start the training, and today's (that day's) training was to be close to each other (I mean, physically close). Obviously, when Watson was approaching him, he felt his blood in his head. Also, Kinji needed to call her by a name (something like 艾尔 in the Chinese version). When they've gotten close to each other, here's what happened.

"OK, let'S do it today, Tohyama."
"Do what?"
"Don't worry"
"Ha!?"
"Only on the ch-cheek. I, I didn't use any lipstick. That would be next time."
"What the hell is your intent--"

And thus, Kinji was kissed on the cheek (he said that it was the 2 without 3, since it's the third time he's been kissed this month).

After that, Watson was obviously over-excited, hugged Kinji and asked him to tell her that he loves her, as a part of the act. Kinji, when he felt Watson's body, went into Hysteria. Then he heard the sound of greending teeth, and also saw someone staring through the keyhole. Then he said out Watson's name (Watson's acting name, which I mentionned above), and Watson repeating Kinji's, but both for two obvious different reasons. then he said to Watson that someone saw them, so asked her to change back. When Kinji went out, pulling Watson who quickly changed herself into a boy, and thus, her clothes were...messy. then, as Kinji pulled he rout of the room, he saw Shiranui, whi was having the 'WTH is going on' expression, and Watson covering his chest while hiding behind Kinji. And from Shiranui's perspective Watson is a boy, so...well, Kiji was stressed out, and searched for an excuse, saying to Shiranui
"S-S-Shiranui, let me explain. I'll explain why--"
And Shiranui smiled towards him and said.
"Don't worry, it isn't something bad---I promise i won't say anything."
And like that, Kinji and Watson left, just as Shiranui...and obviously, Kinji had a reason to be down.

Holy, I really wanted to summarize this chapter.

The story starts with a short continuation of the last chapter. While Watson quickly recovered from to shock of Shiranui discovering them, it was a bit more difficult for Kinji, who fell 5 times on his road to his apartment on the fifth floor. (BTW, Kinji said bitter-joking-ly that Shiranui would misunderstand him when he gets along with Muto.)

When he arrived at home, Kinji decided to sleep for a while, and slept from 6.

He woke up at 7, because of what he just heard. It was his sister, who was cutting carrots, or daikon, or whatever it could be. She asked Kinji if he has any H-books, and Kinji said there are none. (He thought that he didn’t want those books who make him go in to H-mode that easily.) she also asked why doesn’t Kinji take the ‘delicious food’ in front of him, referring to herself, as well as the plots in Riko’s incest H-games. From what she also said, this should be the end of the game. She said that even if they have made their relationship better and better, Kinji is still indecisive...and that it would lead to a ‘bad end’.

After that, she makes Kinji feel that her body is ‘burning’. She also says that, since she can also enter HSS mode, that they would be the strongest siblings pair in the world. Her theory is that the person would become much stronger, but in exchange, that same person would be weak to the one he/she loves (need Flere to clear that theory). She also said that the only lover that Kinji can have in this world would be her. She also wants to be Kinji’s ‘toy’, and forced herself on him. However, Kinji pushed Kaname away, thinking that to manage to have a relationship like that in two weeks, she must be someone dangerous. However, he still cares for Kaname.

After that, Kaname went into the Kitchen, and took a meat knife (no kidding). As she walked towards him with a knife in her hand, and smiling (typical yandere-mode), she asked Kinji if he respected his promise. As Kinji was hesitating, she said that she would only stab him the number of times he broke it. However, if he lies, the number of times would be multiplied by 10. Kinji said that he hasn’t broken it, and didn’t have anything left to do since he was cornered without his weapons...
And Kaname said that it was a lie.
She added:
“Onii-chan, you, lied to me 3 times, so I’ll stab you 30 times.”
She also added that it was the lover’s punishment, and that a punishment needs to hurt. As she was about to stab him, Kinji countered with his butterfly knife. However, even though Kaname’s weapon broke, she shot him with Kinji’s Beretta. Seems that she shot while Kinji was entirely focused on the kitchen knife. Kinji wanted to escape by the balcony, but Kaname blocked him. She then said that she saw them all; Fuuma, Aria and, to her surprise, Watson tto, and she added whe didn’t thought that she would be a girl. And then she happily asked herself in a loud voice, whether she should cut Kinji’s legs so he can’t walk anymore. That way, she could always keep an eye on him.

After that Kinji finally accepts that Kaname tries to go in HSS mode with him, and lets her use any possible way. However, if it doesn’t work, Kaname must forget about that. Kaname agrees, saying that Kinji understands her. And she quickly says that dinner is ready, and invited him to eat.

Kinji, in his mind, thought that he should get an insurance (no, I didn’t mean life insurance. Well, yes, but in another way) and the second day, he went to the seaside. It was a Saturday. Kinji reminded himself that Kaname didn’t say that no one could live with him, but that only relatives could. And to be related to him, it must be a 100% Japanese. Because of that, Aria, Riko and Watson are eliminated. And no need to think a single moment for Jeanne. Reki would be fine, but her acting skills are not good. And the fox-girl isn’t possible, since he doesn’t have fox ears. However, there’s still a single person---
---Shirayuki.
No matter how you look at her, she’s still a perfect Japanese girl, and also his childhood friend, and it would be perfectly normal for her to have the same parents as Kinji. The Hotogi family name is an issue though.
That’s why from now on, she’ll be Tohyama Shirayuki (That part above was almost fully translated from Kinji’s monologue.)
Also, today (that day), is Shirayuki’s anniversary, November 14. And since Konayuki had a present for her, but didn’t want to bother the mail service, she asked Kinji to give it to her. And since Kinji doesn’t know what to give as an anniversary present to a girl, he asked Jeanne, who said that he should offer flowers. And the flowers shop owner said to him that he should offer roses to a girl, and thus, he has taken a bouquet of freshly red roses.

When Shirayuki arrived, he asked her first if she had been followed or not, and she said no. Then, he looked around, and said that it isn’t the perfect place to say something like what he’s about to say. Luckily he found a church (!!!) near the park, and asked her to come with him, and Shirayuki followed his orders as usual. When they arrived in, it seems that the church was made wonderfully. Shirayuki said, timidly, that she is a bit nervous coming to such a place with Kinji. And the latter one said to her.
“From now on, you’ll be nervous every day. So be prepared.”
Shirayuki had no idea what to say, and babbled some words (too lazy to translate them :P)
Then, Kinji forced the bouquet in her hand and Shirayuki said.
“Kin- Kin-chan?”
“Shirayuki, I wish you a happy birthday. Also, let me warn you—you can refuse what I am about to ask.”
Then, it is described how shiny is Shirayuki’s hair.
“Though it’s like this, this is after a long reflection. Anyone else wouldn’t do the job—and if you refuse, I won’t search for anyone else. Only Shirayuki can do it.”
He looked towards Shirayuki, andthought that he wanted to say it simply.

“——Shirayuki. Please become, Tohyama Shirayuki.”

And at the same time, the bells rang in the church… (you could see that coming...)

What Kaname said is basically right; in exchange for heightened combat ability, HSS makes the user weak to romance/love issues. For Kinji, he was afraid of losing control over his HSS (and what happened in Middle School also left some scars in how after his uncontrolled tendencies to help girls was revealed every girl used him for their own ends, like punishing perverts or ex-boyfriends that didn't know when to give up) and since he distance himself from girls due to HSS he has no instinct when it comes to romance.

Plus he has Berserker Hysteria-mode that is even more volatile than normal Hysteria-mode in that the restriction of 'not harming girls' was lifted.

Kaname is basically saying only she can understand Kinji, past all the misunderstanding he gives other girls (eg the Ring with Aria that she mistakens for a confession, and the following roses in church scene with Shirayuki) since Kaname also have HSS. That, and if the two of them who both have HSS can just use each other to enter Hysteria mode they would be invincible, so Kaname wants to be Kinji's partner.

You missed the bit where Kinji's wound from the time he fought Kaname right after the rest of Team Baskerville was KOed acting up - his right knee gave out as he was talking to Shirayuki and he was kneeling down as he handed the rose bouquet to her

Needless to say, it contributed to her misconception Kinji's proposing to her instead of just asking her to play act as his sister

Adding in a second male protagonist could still backfire, however... something like being a spotlight stealing squad (warning: tvtrope link) character that just robs Kinji of his place. Watson had tones of this (better than Kinji in every way: more popular with girls, is Aria's fiancee, richer, have more connections to his classmates) from the moment when she's introduced (forcing Hilda to retreat when she was curbstomping Aria and Kinji, dual weilding a silver sword and gun filled with silver ammo), but it wasn't as grating due to the hints here and there about her actual gender.

If the second male character was like 'those two guys' type character (eg Tsuchimikado Motoharu from Index) then I'd probably agree. Badass in his own right, but doesn't take the shine away from the main male protangist. TAMnI managed to pull this off well, but I'm not quite sure HnA can do the same.

Even TAMnI threw the #2 main protagonist (Accelerator) in at Volume 5 saving Last Order; now at HnA's at Vol10 I think it might be a tad late (and Shiage didn't really become a 'main' character until Vol15 during the Battle Royale arc, and he doesn't really compare to the other two until WW3; a semi-example of a new main character not well incorporated).

The way Toaru avoided this was to split the protagonists to two different, indirect story lines, not only that their perspective of the world and their individual mentality makes for good contrast.

Plus... Lets face it, why bank your hopes on people liking one protagonist when you can double up your chances and make two

Look either way, if Watson's that good, the character would steal the spotlight either from the girls or from the guy, and since that hasn't happened, I really don't think that's much of a concern in the first place.

And for the record, Tsuchimikado became a sort of secondary main character thanks to Group on Accelerator's storyline which adds to his cred.

Kinji also has those two guys, but his two guys are really... Just two guys They're not actually useless, just doesn't really... You know... Get any girls... >.>

It's a matter of incentive as well, even being a sidekick in Toaru you'll still get some very good perks... Being a sidekick in Ariaverse... Not so well rewarded.

Turning Watson into another sidekick... No, it wouldn't change anything- it could only be a protagonist status!

i should wait for your summary to be over before to comment sinse you may know thing i do not but i don't see anyone else for now-and like for aria i'd like him to suffer a defeat who'll make him want to train in order to become stronger.
i'm disapointed kaname hysteria mode proved so useless;i understand the reason behind it but sinse kinji and other tohyama's has so many variant(bersek and so on)i hope she'll find at less one interesting use.
