Discovery Channel's Planet Earth

This show is absolutely breathtaking, stunning, amazing, etc I could go on and on. If you have an HDTV you are cheating yourself by not watching this show since I think it is the best looking HD program out right now. It makes a great showcase piece for anyone with an HDTV.

Not only is it beautiful it has a bunch of never before seen footage of different animals in the wild, such as a Giant Panda in the wild nursing her newborn and a Snow Leopard on a hunt in the mountains. So even if you don't have an HDTV it is still a great program to watch, and learn a bit from.

Heres the website.

Excellent program, with excellent filming and direction. But on top of it all sits the music. It's some of the best music I've ever heard in a non-fiction show.

Exactly. This show was just so well crafted, the naration by sigourney weaver is excellent as well. Also mad props have to go out to the cameramen to get all of those amazing shots.

I also just finished watching the oceans episode and it was so cool.

Wait. What? Discovery? Sigourney Weaver?

It's a BBC production, narrated by David Attenborough. Not that I have anything against Sigourney (In fact she's one of my favourite actors) but doing narration? Just... no. Re-dubbing something Attenborough did seems criminal.

That aside, it is a beautiful series. I have part one on DVD, and will be getting part two as soon as it's available here. I look forward to HD/BR versions in full 1080 glory, too. Absolutely stunning cinematography. The fact it's the most expensive documentary series ever made clearly shows, in the fact that it's by far the best documentary series ever made.

Yeah, in this case, the money and time they put in this shows. It aired a little while ago here, watched every episode. I like nature documentaries, and this was simply beyond anything I had ever seen.

The purpose of this 11 part mini series was to spread the awareness to supporting our natural environment. What is worth saving and preserving. Well I shouldn't have used "worth", but more like "if we don't try to preserve what we have now, this is what we're gonna lose". Nature is the worlds way of "awwing" us.
