Both follows novel pretty faithfully, (with exception of volume 3 adaption on Anime), however the manga keeps most of Kyosuke's inner dialog with the use of think-bubbles and as result the plot seems more complete, the downside is that as manga, the story moves painfully slow and it doesn't really offer anything new other than pointing out some obvious LN hints by using character facial expressions. On the other hand, the Anime is using more of a 3rd person POV, which lets you see some scenes that Kyosuke wasn't involved in and is refreshing for people who follows either LN or manga. The preblem with the anime adaption is that the anime seems to concentrate on Kirino's tsun-side way too much. All the while, ignored her dere-side and her hard-working/logical side. As result iftmade Kirino much less sympathetic.

Damn straight, as it should be. Not much info on it yet. It has been posted in anime thread already, but I think I should insert the link here as well.

I wonder how they can proceed with the Kuroneko manga, maybe it will be something if Kirino doesn't return to Japan. (there goes my wish about a spinoff manga with supernatural and fantasy and magic.)

I just read the Chinese-translated short story from the short story bundled in the PSP Limited Edition. I have to say that I really hope it's things to come even though more often than not this type of foreshadowing seldom comes true.....

now you mention it, Kanako was indeed not mentioned in the short story as well...
I guess it could have been Kanako, the evidence really didn't favor either with exception that if "her" is not referring to Kuroneko, the story is really weird without Kuroneko ever been mentioned, while missing Kanako isn't that big of a deal since Kanako is more or less a minor character alongside Bridget and that track girl (forgot her name), both of which aren't mentioned in the story either.

Reasoning for missing Kuroneko(Assuming it's Kanako end): Kyosuke and Kuroneko had a such a big falling out that he never wanted to remember her.
Reasoning for missing Kanako(Assuming it's Kuroneko end): Minor character. Personally I'm hoping it's Kanako end, since usually authors would write other characters he had no chance of writing for non-canon ends since it does not affect anything. Why would you write a Kuroneko end for an extra story if you're going to write a Kuroneko end in the main canon storyline? That's the mentality I'm hoping he will be taking. |
