Hmm. I admit I was hoping for a few months earlier. That may be an estimate, though, the way Amazon fills in the release dates for books or games without any official word.

Amazon.de uses the same date for a few weeks so it might be the real publication date. At least the volumes of Haruhi are released faster than the FMP! ones...

The number of pages (224) is also the same.

A few questions I need answered!!

Ello, fellow S.O.S. members! There is something I need to confirm-hoping people here can help.

Has anyone else bought the first two novels in English yet? How true are they to the original Japanese ones? I bought and read both...and while nothing seems censored at all, Kyon mentions Haruhi humming themes from very American movies/series that I really find hard to believe the Japanese would find popular...like Rocky?
Was this altered to appeal more to Americans? If so, that kinda ticks me off.... (I really hate it when anything is altered to be less "foreign"!)

If not, well good, then.

The Rocky theme was included in the original. The anime dropped all of the songs Haruhi was humming(but threw in the cancan during one scene), so that might be why you'd be confused.

I believe both Rocky and The Matrix were very popular in Japan... that one Marilyn Manson song is the credits theme to the first Matrix film, I should mention.

Her humming Ride of the Valkries in the anime was hilarious, couldn't help thinking, "Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit"
