Fate/Stay Night consist out three routes. Each shows a different way how events could have played out. All three routes are canon and show a different side of the conflict.

The anime series is based on the Fate route and has Saber as the main heroine.
The Unlimited Blade Work move is based on the Unlimited Blade Work route and has Rin as the main heroine.
The final route, Heaven's Feel hasn't yet been adapted. It has Sakura as the main heroine and answers most of the unanswered questions of Fate/Zero.
