I think it wasn't that epic but I'm fine with his death. I do agree that it was very fast though, when I watched it in the theathers he was gone.......just like that. *poof* It had that kind of feeling. I felt more sadness in Andrei's death to be honest.

I'm not criticising it nor am I saying it was it should have been done differently however, I am sort of neutral to the scene. Graham just did his job to let Setsuna through, like a lot of the soldiers did and he would have been proud that he did it. I disagree that Set should had a stronger reaction to it though, Graham was always more obsessed with him than he was of Graham, even if Set knew who he was.

Considering that he's one of the few who made it up to the ELS mothership, I say Graham's feat and death isn't that bad.

And come on, even Graham just calls Setsuna his "boy". That just how their relationship was: the boy and the man.

Even though Setsuna is a 'seinen' now

I never thought Shounen sounds so cool until Graham is obssessed with it

When Setsuna teleported, I thought I heard Graham saying "Why didn't you do that so I did not have to die!!"

Back to a more serious tone, Graham's sacrifice scene is another statement to his superbe piloting skill...only Graham can bring his non-gundam to this close to els core

You know, I hate to say this... but I think it would have been beneficial to the ESF if Ali al-Saachez were still alive. It was the exact type of battle Saachez wanted: a no-holds-barred free-for-all.

Good point. And I'm sure my man Ali would have survived longer than Descartes.

Maybe survive longer but what can he do better with a close combat Gundam?

ELS have a greater chance of infecting a mobile suit that relies on close-combat, since they infect things upon contact.

Which is why there was so much beam spam in the movie ^_^

You make it sound like you don't like the beam spam.

Good point. Even though he excelled at close combat, I'm sure Ali could have done some damage in a long-range mobile suit.

There's no space infront of him during the time. When Setsuna teleported out, the ELS made way for him.

More precisely Setsuna was already outside the the ELS planetoid by the time he teleported, which he got out of via the 'door' the ELS made for him.

Really don't think the Transition System allows the 00Q to pass through physical barriers though.

More likely Setsuna didn't want to run the risk of teleporting into a solid object.

Good point. Close combat was really ineffective against the ELS. This makes me wonder how on earth i00Q was going to take on the whole ELS fleet alone if it chose to

00Q has more than enough ranged weaponry options to take down the ELS.

Its loadout should be sufficient in that department, along with some sweeps of the ELS via Trans-Am Raiser Sword. Of course, it will take a good while: hell, the profile for the Full Saber states the 00Q can take out the ELS by itself in at least a week, and that's with all the extra weaponry.
