This episode would've been really great, if it wasn't the second to last ep of the series. How are they going to resolve everything in one ep?

I suppose they can limit themselves in that respect. Just accomplish the goal of getting Mayuri to interact with her past self. And then just end it with a message to go watch the last 2-3 episodes of the original Steins;Gate

23 episodes sounds like a really weird number.

Or Amadeus is just well programmed, which is likely given she is a university project.
A lot of apps actually cause a lot more battery drain than they'd have to.

The app itself is likely just an access terminal to a sort of streaming service. Probably with some sort of encoding/decoding.

That said, having the screen, constant data streaming both ways, microphone, speakers, and camera on that long would drain even a good phone's battery rather quickly. And that's assuming the app itself isn't causing any drain.
