Unfortunately I can’t make a fiction that’s 9 minutes worth of reading however after listening to the song I could only think of one word….. EPIC so I had to write something that at least lasted a couple of minutes. I also wanted to do something different, and after watching the video I came up with something…….so, may not be to everyone’s tastes but the character deserved some love :3

One Hope.

One Chance.

Never had the lives of so many rested solely in the hands of one person.

Standing over a great valley, the challenge stood waiting to be met.

Thousands of soldiers gathered staring up at the sole warrior on the crest, the sun setting in the background casting a red hue across the sky of the earth like planet.

Hundreds of shooting stars careened into the landscape around them, the battle above the atmosphere proving just as brutal as this one was going to be.

This one race had seeked to destroy them, though lacking magic, technology was abundant. One simple artificial virus had single handedly disabled the entire human female population through an immense epidemic.

The only thing that awaited them was death after some time of linker core degradation. It seems this race of humanoid insect like beings were unisex and had not foreseen it only affecting half of the human race. Fortunately for them it had acted on the most powerful side leaving….

“I am Erio Mondial….today I end this war!”

The warrior’s voice boomed across the valley as he jumped off of the crest and sped into the valley below.

“Strada!”

The valley erupted into scenes of explosions, battle cry’s and gunfire. Artillery, rifles, canon’s and hand to hand combat. A surprise attack had given them the edge on this insect’s research outpost, along with the possibility of obtaining the virus antidote. If they couldn’t get it, in a few more days, it wouldn’t matter anymore, the human race would destroy itself even though the virus had only been half effective.

“I have to get into that facility!”

Erio was the sole mage left capable of the task. The other most powerful men of the TSAB, Chrono, Zaphira, Vice, Griffith and Genya were holding the area above the planet, engaging their fleet in an all out battle. The longer Erio took, the more likely their advanced fleet would be destroyed before he obtained the antidote. Using his speed he had to make it through. Too many people he cared about were on the line!

‘Fate, Signum, Nanoha, Hayate, Vita, Shamal, Tia, Subaru……….CARO!!!!’

With another roar of determination Erio cleaved his way through tens of these creatures covering him in the green blood like substance that dwelled inside of them.

Watching from above you would see a desperate struggle. One red-headed now young man made his way through the defending army to the outpost.

“Chrono! Update, where’s Erio??!”

“He’s engaging the enemy, he’s meeting tough resistance but he’s making progress.”

Zaphira grunted to Chrono’s response and carried on fighting, leading his platoon in the newly developed space mage combat system giving them the slight edge over the technology that had overwhelmed them in this arena in the past. TSAB cruisers were defensive by nature. Now with Mages outside the ship like in atmospheric style battles. The overall attack power and defensive capabilities are increased.

Never had the human races of the TSAB administered republic been so united. Even if they were not as technologically advanced. Everyone was fighting for their loved ones and their survival. Their passion knew no equal, it was do or die.

However things took a turn for the worse.

“Erio’s made his way to the entrance of the facility Admiral Chrono he’s about to enter!”

“Confirmed.”

A bloody and wounded Erio appeared on the screen.

“If your not back in under ten minutes there’s no guarantee we will still be here Erio, make it fast!”

Erio needed no more encouragement he darted into the facility.

Camera’s showed his progress, cutting down everything in his way as he made his way to the control room.

That’s when it happened.

The screen went black as the facility exploded from a self-destruct sequence.

I read it many times and it took me between 1 minute 50 and 2 minutes 20 depending on speed. Makes a difference to the timing of the music. As everyone has different reading speeds i hope you got some effects from it.

In before plot doesn't make sense and arguments over technology vs magic and single sex viruses. It's just a random story i wrote to the song to make Erio the hero....

I think, although correct me if i'm wrong. The Space Mage battle System credit goes to TSS. I think its in RebelS. I know i read it somewhere i think its from there. So if it is from TSS. Then it's TSS's idea and all credit goes to her/him. I just used it to make the story work better. If its someone else. Replace TSS in the above with your name XD.

And now as i move to a seperate topic. I found this video on youtube. I think i had the biggest grin on my face watching this. single phrase. [DO WANT THAT GAME]

"Mou Vita! Hayate said that you appear too scary to the cadets, so she wanted you to take up a sport to relieve stress!"

Vita could only look up at Fate with an annoyed expression and a raised eyebrow as she held the instrument in her hand.

"What do you think i would enjoy about this sport?!?"

Fate thought about this for a second trying to defuse the bomb that was about to go off.

"Well you can hit stuff as hard as you like, but you still need finesse and its quite satisfying when you get it in the hole."

Vita seemed semi satisfied with the answer. However ten minutes later the bomb was re-awoken.

Vita was angry. "This is a stupid game!!!"

Fate could only try to hide her snigger as Vita had missed the golf ball each time with the club.

Vita snapped it over her knee. "To hell with this!!! Graf Eisen!!!"

[...Ya Vol...Gigant Form....Smash!....]

Fate could only watch in amusement as the ball went a fair way.

"I wasn't going to do this today but i was going to get to that, but you still have a way to go Vita. It's all about technique...."

Fate powered up her barrier jacket.

[....Get...Set.......FIRE!....]

Vita could only watch in awe as Fate's ball soared way further than hers.

Vita smirked.

"It's on now Testarossa!"

Well, ending to Life Goes On is going to have to wait a little bit, because I ended up writing the first chapter to Moving On instead (I just realized how similar the two names are...completely unintentional). A few parts feel a little jumpy, so I'll probably edit it later when I can look at it with a fresh eye...

Reinforce did her best to focus on the back of the room, trying to ignore the intense stares of her new classmates. She’d been standing there for at least a minute, and by now she was starting to wonder if there was a problem. The only thing she’d been told to do was greet the class and introduce herself, which she’d done easily enough, but the expectant atmosphere of the room implied that saying just her name wasn’t quite what was intended. Right on cue a small cough came from behind her as the home room teacher tried to break the silence.

“Well, would you like to say anything else?” he asked, trying to coax the girl into talking a little about herself.

“Um, yes,” Reinforce replied, turning her head so she could face the teacher, “Where’s my seat?”

Moving On
Chapter 1 - First Impressions

Hayate tried her best to stifle her giggles, but failed miserably. Fortunately she wasn’t alone, as half the class was laughing right along with her. Well, the point of introductions was to make a good first impression, and Reinforce had certainly managed to do that. When the teacher recovered from his surprise he pointed out the empty desk in the third row, and the transfer student moved to take her seat.

‘Drat, not next to me. Stupid mangas never get it right,’ Hayate whined to herself, sadly watching the girl from halfway across the room, feeling a little jealous as she saw seating neighbours introduce themselves to the new student. Now that Hayate had overcome the initial shock, both from the meeting in the hallway and the sudden appearance now, she took her time to watch Reinforce closer. She definitely had a foreign feel to her, and it wasn’t just the silver hair or deep red eyes. She was tall for one, several inches taller than any of her classmates, and she look a little more mature than an average fourteen year old girl, especially considering how well developed –

Blushing when she realized where she’d been staring, Hayate quickly averted her eyes, looking back to the front of the room where the teacher was talking. Trying her best not to get distracted again, she put an extra effort into focusing on the words, but in the end she couldn’t remember a single thing that was said.

Only when homeroom ended ten minutes later, and the teacher had left the room, did Hayate risk another glance at the transfer student, expecting the girl’s desk to be surrounded in a few moments. Her classmates didn’t disappoint as they immediately crowded around Reinforce, each filled with questions and curiosity.

“Ein, that’s German isn’t it? Are you from Germany?”

“Your Japanese is amazing, who taught you?”

“Is that your natural hair colour?”

Hayate smiled from her corner, both in amusement at her classmates’ predictability and at the knowledge that she wanted to be right in there as well, and would probably have been asking the most questions if she had. Reinforce seemed to take the bombardment of questions in full stride, not unnerved in the slightest by the crowd surrounding her. She responded briefly and succinctly without giving any real answers, like she was just trying to get through the questions as quickly as possible. It was that same cold and distant feeling that Hayate had felt before, like the girl was trying to avoid any real contact. Was it that icy wall around the girl that made Hayate so drawn to her?

Reinforce let out a deep breath as she tried to relax. It was lunch break, the first chance she had to get some time alone to herself, and she’d rushed out from the classroom as quickly as she could, making her way to the very back of the field where she’d spotted some nice shaded trees earlier. It wasn’t exactly the most comfortable of places, the grass was poorly kept and was a little prickly, but she couldn’t complain too much considering it was still nice and secluded. After all, that was why she’d run off in the first place, to avoid all the prying and probing from classmates filled with curiosity. Stretched out on her back, staring up at swaying branches and rustling leaves, she almost wanted to fall asleep and let the rest of the day pass by. She’d expected it all, of course, knowing perfectly well that she couldn’t just walk into a classroom in the middle of a semester without having everyone’s attention. It was exactly the same, every single time…

“Finally found you!”

Groaning when she heard the irritatingly cheerful voice, Reinforce sat up, turning to see who had intruded on her peace. She was surprised, though, when she saw a slight, brunette girl coming towards in a wheelchair.

“Should you be over here?” she inquired, wondering how far the girl had pushed herself just to search her out. From the sounds of the girl’s heavy breathing and reddened face, it looked like she’d been around the entire building.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” the girl answered, her cheeks puffing out in indignation. Reinforce took a moment to realize what she’d said, and suddenly panicked, realizing how tactless the question had been.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean – I was just surprised to see that you were – I mean, I haven’t spoken to anyone who’s – um,” she trailed off, realizing that her attempts at apologizing weren’t very successful. Thinking that she’d only managed to insult the girl even more, Reinforce dropped her gaze ashamedly.

For her part, Hayate was biting her tongue to stop herself from smiling. The angry retort had been reflexive and not genuine, and she had immediately regretted it the moment the words had left her mouth. She had intended to apologize immediately, but when her new classmate had suddenly become so flustered she couldn’t help but try and see how far this could go. It was convenient too, since she’d spent the last few hours trying to figure out how to get the girl to talk to her. Now that she’d had an opportunity handed right to her she was going to make the most of it.

“Oh? What are you trying to say, exactly?” Hayate said, barely keeping the teasing tone out of her voice.

“Well, it’s just,” Reinforce started, and made a telling glance at the wheelchair. Not entirely sure how to continue, she tried avoiding the subject altogether. “You just surprised me.”

“Hmm? Is that it?” Hayate pressed, leaning forward a little. To her glee the girl blushed ever so slightly and averted her eyes, avoiding eye contact.

“Y-yes.”

“Oh really? And here I was, searching through the entire school just to thank you properly for helping me out this morning,” she said, putting on an air of innocence.

“This morning?” the silver-haired girl asked wonderingly, as she tried to remember where the two had met earlier. Her face was telling as the memory dawned on her. “At the lockers?”

“Tsk, and you didn’t even remember me. I don’t think you even deserve my thanks any more,” Hayate huffed, turning around immediately so she could start wheeling herself back towards the school building. Behind her Reinforce stammered out several apologies, not realizing that the brunette was silently laughing to herself with a wide grin on her face.

To tell the truth, Hayate was a little surprised at the transfer student’s reactions. Considering how the girl had brushed off all of the inquiring classmates, and the way she had avoided any real contact with other people all morning, Hayate had expected her to be far more closed and dismissive. To find that she wasn’t was a delightful surprise, to say the least, but all it really did was make the brunette even more curious. Even though she seemed like such a kindhearted person, the girl seemed so unwilling to connect with anyone around her. Just what was it that made her push people away?

Classes had ended for the day, and Hayate was slowly gathering up her things, stacking them neatly in her book bag as she watched classmates leave the room. Like in the mornings, she preferred to wait until the hallways were much less crowded, and as a result always ended up being the last one to leave the classroom. When she finally pulled away from her desk, though, she was caught by surprise when she felt a gentle weight press down on her wheelchair. Glancing up over her shoulder, Hayate saw a new but increasingly familiar face peering down at her.

“Do you mind if I - ?” Reinforce asked, motioning slightly as she gripped the handles at the back of the chair, and Hayate nodded her consent quickly. Starting at a slow and cautious pace, the two left the room and headed towards the entrance, Reinforce guiding the wheelchair with steady hands. Normally Hayate refused to let anyone push her, though Signum frequently ignored those complaints, but she decided to make an exception this time. After her mean little trick at lunch it was the least she could do to be accommodating. Besides, it wasn’t like she wanted to drive the girl away or anything.

“So,” Reinforce started, but paused immediately. “Um…I’m sorry, I never got your name.”

“It’s Yagami. Yagami Hayate.”

“Right…um, Hayate then,” the girl began again. Hayate was a little surprised that her given name was used, but quickly remembered that the girl was foreign. She waited for Reinforce to continue, guessing at what she would say.

“About what I said at lunch, I want to apologize. I was just surprised when I saw you, and I spoke without thinking,” Reinforce said. Now that she’d had time to think and recover from the awkwardness, the girl had once again reverted to her serious demeanor. It made Hayate a little disappointed, but actually getting the transfer student to approach her was definitely a step in the right direction. Of course, the brunette wasn’t one to settle for baby steps.

“I suppose I can forgive you this time,” Hayate said melodramatically. They had reached the lockers already, the area predictably empty considering the time. With a quick tug, the wheelchair was pulled out from Reinforce’s light grip, and Hayate wheeled herself straight towards the exit. Just as she was leaving, she looked back over her shoulder with a sly smile on her face.

“After all, I got to see Ein-san’s cute side.”

Laughing freely when she saw the poor girl’s widened eyes and steadily rising blush, Hayate turned back and hurried off to meet Signum, who was already standing and waiting at the school gate.

When they arrived home, Hayate cheerfully entered first, calling out loudly as she wheeled through the doorway. “I’m back!”

A loud bark was the first response she received as the large blue dog sitting in the entryway stood, quickly walking over to the girl to lick at her cheek.

“Hello Zafira, I’m happy to see you too,” Hayate said, ruffling the big dog’s fur as she gave him a hug.

“Hayate!” came a small voice, and a short red-haired girl came running from the living room, jumping up so she could wrap her arms tightly around the brunette.

“Vita, you’re already home?” Hayate said, returning the embrace tightly.

“Welcome back,” another voice said, and a short-haired blonde woman stepped into the hallway, smiling warmly. “How was your day?”

“My day? It was great.”

“I’m home!” Reinforce called as she opened the door to the apartment. When there was no reply, she sighed and entered, locking the door tightly behind her. Slipping her shoes off, she padded lightly down the small hallway towards the kitchen. As she flicked the light switch on the room suddenly filled with a dim glow, and her eyes mechanically moved down to the kitchen table where she saw a small handwritten note, as expected. She didn’t need to read it to know what it said, but did so anyway out of habit.

“We’re going to be working late, don’t wait on us for dinner. Love Mom and Dad,” Reinforce read aloud. Tossing the note into the garbage, the girl walked over to the freezer, feeling too lazy to take the time to cook. Pulling out a small instant dinner, she slipped it into the microwave, setting the time. While she waited, bored as she watched the glowing numbers count down, she felt a soft brushing up against her ankles, and she glanced down at the reddish ball of fur that was rubbing against her legs.

“Hello Agito,” she said, smiling as she picked up the small kitten. It mewed at her, waving its paws at her face as it tried to bat her nose. “So how was your day?”

The cat cocked its head to the side, like it almost understood the question. After a few moments it mewed again, waving its paw in the air.

“Mine?” Reinforce asked, “It was nice. I met someone interesting today.”

"Aghh... it doesn't stop!" Gary was tring to stop the wall by pushing in the oposite direction, but the wall just keeped moving, Vita was tring the same in the pther door but it was pointless

"Now what?! Been crushed is not exactly something that I want" Gary said

"Could you stop moking around for once in your life?!!!"

There was something like 80 cms between both walls alredy

"Damn... this... can't end this way..." Vita though "I must... I must do something!" Vita looked around, in what was left of the room, she looked every single point, looking for anything able to save her and Gary, there were like 50 cm left alredy

"GOT IT" Vita screamed while pulling out Graff Eisenn and one of her Silver Balls, she launched the ball into the air and smashed it against opne of the walls, the ball bounced to the other one, and then to the other one, and then to the other one, every time faster and with more strenght

"Space Girl! What are you doing?!"

"Crouch! Now!" Vita screamed, Gary obeyed and jumped to the ground, Vita raised Graff Eissen and hit once again the ball, like a missile, I t smashed the door in wich Maligno nwas seen broken it to pices

Vita jumped, grabing Gary from his leg, fling out of the chamber just after the two walls meet each other, sealing the chamber, not even a hair was able to enter between the walls

"Uf... Uf... Space Girl! You did it!"

"Yeah... uf... I think you own me one again" Vita said

In the new room, Vita and Gary found more stairs going down, they both followed the way, still chasing for Maligno

"This is the girl I suposed to meet?" Vivio though

"Yeah... sorry that he CAN'T learn to be more discret!" Vivio was more actually speaking to Falling Soul than to Karil

"Ugh... ehmm, so... you are the one I'm suposed to meet? The one that that guy said that will be looking for me"

"His name is Reptile"

"Uh... Reptile? What kind of name is that?"

"Well... actually that's his nickname, I don't know his true name... oh, and yeah, he asked me to find you, so yeah, I'm the girl"

"Right... and why they call him 'Reptile'?"

"I can't tell you that, I promised him that I will never reveal the reason to anyone who hasn't face him in battle"

Vivio started to lose patiente, this girl instead of helping her to clear her doubts, was actually giving Vivio more doubts

"Now listen you...!" Vivio was stoped by a little sound who was coming from Karil's chest

Out of Karil's coat, appeared a little figure covered with hair, with an orange color

"Arf! Arf!" The figure yelled to Vivio

"Ow... how cute little puppy! I haven't noticed that you had that dog in your coat" Vivio said while looking exited at the little animal

"He's not a dog, he's a coyote... uhh..., my cute little Abe, are you hungry?"

"Arf! Arf!" The little coyote looked happy while hearing his master Karil, she grabbed a fried potato and gave it to the animal who munched it quickly

"Eh... Isn't ilegal to have those kind of animals as pets?" Vivio asked

"Yes, I know, but I could'nt leave him, I found him on the forest, alone, with cold and hunger, I just couldn't, now we both have a special link, we love each other at our way... to bad some people doesn't understeand it"

"What hapened?"

"Some months ago, a police officer told me that it was illegal to have those kind of animals as pets, plus, there was a rabies plage in those days, they told me that I had to hand over him to them, to never see him again, but I didn't wanted, we had alredy a special conection, good he was there also"

"Reptile?" Vivio asked

"Yes, he defend me and Abe 'Just because another person says that you must leave a friend, doesn't means that you must do it' he told me" Katil huged Abe, who hide again inside her coat, aparently, she had trained him well

"Well, that's a nice story, but I still don't know, what did Reptile want of me"

"He spoke you about The Black Dragon Clan, don't?"

"Yes... yes he said something about it"

"Well Vi, the Black Dragon clan is a group of assasins, it is say that the members of it are the most powerfull warriors and mages in the entire universe, Reptile is a member of the Black Dragon Clan, that's all I can't tell you about them at the moment" Karil took a pause to munch again her hamburger, then she proceded

"I promised Reptile that for saving me and Abe, I would help him in anything he wanted, he asked me to be your companiuon in your quest"

"Quest?" Vivio asked

"Yes, your quest concist in Killing the members of the Brotherhood of Death"

"Wow, wow, wow! Hold it! Hold it!" Vivio almos jumped out of her chair while telling this "Kill?! Did I miss something? He told me that he wanted me to help Vita, not to kill someone!"

"Actually, helping Vita is part of this, Reptile told me that this friend of you'rs named Vita, needed something, something that the brotherhood of Death is also searching, so, by killing them, you are helping Vita"

"Bu-bu-but... I... Why... why me then? If they are assasins, why don't they do it by themselves?!"

[I told you but you don't listened to me]

"That's why I asked to him, apartently, the Brotherhood of Death and the Black Dragon clan are enemies, so, none of the Black Dragon assasins could get close to the liders of the Brotherhood without been spoted... but you, you can go inside their files without been spoted, after all, they will never spect to been attacked by someone who's aparently gonna be the rest of her life in a hospital's bed, don't?"

Vivio then understood, it was very logicall, brillant almost

"Oh, by the way" Karil added "He also told me that the one who tried to kill you was a member of the Brotherhood of Death"

"What..." Vivio was shocked "He was...?"

"His name is Rage" Karil asked "Reptil though that you probably wanted to return the favor to the brotherhood"

"So I must kill Rage?"

"No... Your objetives are these" Karil took out a pice of paper and give it to Vivio, she opened it and saw 7 names listed on the paper

"Yep, your mission is to kill them, that way you'll help Vita... I think, all they are bad persons, corrupts, assasins, belive me, you are not doing anything incorrect"

Vivio closed the paper and took a long breath, thens she said something that she never expected to say

"I'll do it, just to help Vita"

"Wondefull! Now we both are friends!" Karil said whit a radiant smile on her face

"So... you are a member of the Black Dragon Clan?"

"No"

"Right... so why did Reptile wanted you to help me in my 'Quest'? Are you a mage?"

"No"

"Can you fight?"

"No"

"Weapons?"

"No"

"So?"

"Just let's say that I'm a smart girl" Karil added while munching the rest of her hamburger, after that, she gave Vivio a kind and cherefull smile

"I pay this time" Karil added "But next time you pay, okay?"

Vivio nooded, she couldn't help but laugh, this Karil seemed to be a good person, perhaps Vivio was in precence of a great friend

Oh, one more thing, in the next chapter, another revelation will be made, in chapter 12 of NROTU, the true identiny of the hodded woman who asists the Emperor (as I said, a character that you all know very well XP)

NOTE: Oh, yeah, the surprise on this chapter is one of the things I had planed since I started this project, coments will be really apreciated for this chapter, Thanks in advice

Cover looks great! The BIG surprise at the end (because it was a really big surprise) had become somehow predictable when The War had appeared. It was just a matter to get to the end to confirm the random though. And the surprise looks evil enough. The appearance of Famine and what happened to Arf had some rather disturbing images at some points. How many chapters are there still?

The conversation between Karil and Vivio was fun. That list is intriguing, lots of new characters we have yet to see in the actual fic. And Vivio going to kill them? Doesn't seem like an easy job.

Something looks... different at the new drawings. The new logo and complete white background makes them look somehow a lot cleaner. Gary Love looks quite different than what I had imagined him.

Unfortunately I can’t make a fiction that’s 9 minutes worth of reading however after listening to the song I could only think of one word….. EPIC so I had to write something that at least lasted a couple of minutes. I also wanted to do something different, and after watching the video I came up with something…….so, may not be to everyone’s tastes but the character deserved some love :3

I read it many times and it took me between 1 minute 50 and 2 minutes 20 depending on speed. Makes a difference to the timing of the music. As everyone has different reading speeds i hope you got some effects from it.

In before plot doesn't make sense and arguments over technology vs magic and single sex viruses. It's just a random story i wrote to the song to make Erio the hero....

I think, although correct me if i'm wrong. The Space Mage battle System credit goes to TSS. I think its in RebelS. I know i read it somewhere i think its from there. So if it is from TSS. Then it's TSS's idea and all credit goes to her/him. I just used it to make the story work better. If its someone else. Replace TSS in the above with your name XD.

I can smell the epic. 9 minute fic would have seemed a bit overkill, but THIS SHOULD get continued. (just for the sake of the already started epic feeling). Random note: It took me just 1 minute and 30 seconds to read. There was just some point where the music seemed to change pace in the middle of the sentence (which I presumed would have made a better change at the end of the line), but it doesn't detract from the overall feeling.

And now as i move to a seperate topic. I found this video on youtube. I think i had the biggest grin on my face watching this. single phrase. [DO WANT THAT GAME]

Vita could only look up at Fate with an annoyed expression and a raised eyebrow as she held the instrument in her hand.

"What do you think i would enjoy about this sport?!?"

Fate thought about this for a second trying to defuse the bomb that was about to go off.

"Well you can hit stuff as hard as you like, but you still need finesse and its quite satisfying when you get it in the hole."

Vita seemed semi satisfied with the answer. However ten minutes later the bomb was re-awoken.

Vita was angry. "This is a stupid game!!!"

Fate could only try to hide her snigger as Vita had missed the golf ball each time with the club.

Vita snapped it over her knee. "To hell with this!!! Graf Eisen!!!"

[...Ya Vol...Gigant Form....Smash!....]

Fate could only watch in amusement as the ball went a fair way.

"I wasn't going to do this today but i was going to get to that, but you still have a way to go Vita. It's all about technique...."

Fate powered up her barrier jacket.

[....Get...Set.......FIRE!....]

Vita could only watch in awe as Fate's ball soared way further than hers.

Vita smirked.

"It's on now Testarossa!"

Although I was, admittedly, not completely uncomfortable with my current predicament I had to get her to stop. There was no telling what Alicia, who looked like Fate but wasn't, was, for all I knew she was a crazed killer out for my blood. So I tried to break off, unfortunately she was having none of that and pulled me right back in, by holding my head in. You'd think the girl would get from my lack of response that I didn't want to kiss her.

I tried removing her hands only to find that she was stronger than me, which depressed me quite a bit. But my depression was soon forgotten as something foreign came into my mouth, also known as Alicia's tongue. I wasn't exactly sure what to do with said invasion of my personal bubble, though to be honest that bubble had popped long ago.

However more problematic then her tongue or the fact I was locked into place was the fact it was getting harder and harder to breath my the second and Alicia seemed to think she could go on for quite a bit. Meanwhile I was turning blue and starting to get dizzy, was this how I was going to go, suffocated by the first girl to kiss me?

“Alicia stop that right. Now,” the familiar voice had the same tone a mother uses when she tells her child to put down a dirty worm, in this case I was the dirty worm.

The command only made Alicia go at it harder and my arms flail.

“Alicia let him go.”

Something passed between us, something akin to an electric shock. Alicia released me immediately, as if I'd been lite on fire, and I fell to my knees, breathing in the air I was very thankful for.

“That's not fair,” Alicia pouted, “I claimed him!”

The moment I stood up Alicia clamped onto my arm.

“He's my partner you can't have him! You can't Fate!”

“Huh?”

“No you didn't,” Fate never once raised her voice, “Alicia you only nearly gave him brain damage.”

“Well I'll just have to try again!” Alicia eyed me as if she was going to go in for another life sucking kiss.

“Alicia.”

Although they looked exactly the same I couldn't help but feel Fate was centuries older then Alicia. Alicia sighed.

“Go home.”

The pigtailed girl opened her mouth to speak but something silent passesd between them and she relented. My arm was returned to me. “Fine,” she looked like a sullen child. “Bye Yuuno~” She reached yup and kissed my cheek, “don't worry you'll be my partner for sure.” Before I could ask any questions she ran off down the street.

“Are you sure she'll be safe?” I didn't like the idea of anyone out alone at night.

“She'll be fine, she's nearly home already,” Fate turned to me. “Well?”

“I didn't kiss her! I mean- well- she kissed me! And she was really strong! So... I couldn't stop her you know...” I felt all that was left of my pride flutter away with my words.

Fate bit her lip and tried to hold back her amusement, “I'm surprised you didn't kiss her back.”

“I would never!”

“Well you shouldn't have had a choice,” Fate tapped her chin, “She was trying to enchant you.”

“Say what?”

“If you haven't guessed already my sister-” she stopped herself, “My sister and I aren't like you.”

“Wait what does that mean?!? And why are you telling me?”

“It means... goodnight Yuuno.”

“Yuuno?” I figured she wasn't going to give me any more information so I didn't press it.

“What? Do I have to kiss you to be able to call you that?” She smiled, the first genuine one I had seen from her.

“So you do make jokes.”

“I do a lot you don't know about.”

“Can I have a hint? Just a little one about who you are really.”

Fate pondered my request for a moment then turned around, “Goodnight Yuuno.”

It was in that split second that I saw my hint. For I saw, though they came and went so fast I could have imagined them, giant, glowing, pure, white wings from her back.

“Goodnight... Fate.”

Somehow that didn't seem to be a little hint to me.

I told Chrono that a pack of wild cats had attacked me as I got close to the house and stole my milk, he asked why I hadn't gone back for more, so much for brotherly concern. The rest of the morning passed easily as I made my way to school.

I took a deep breath as I walked to my seat.

“'Mornin' Yuuno-kun!”

“Sleep well Yuuno-kun?”

“Good morning, Yuuno.”

I sat down in my seat in the center of the triangle and address each girl in order. “Good morning Nanoha-san, Yagami-san and... Fate.”

A murmur went up at the sound of Fate's and my informal exchange. I sighed, what to do now?

A. I might not be able to get her to tell me much but maybe talking to Fate will get her to open up.
B. I should probably make some sort of explanation up for Nanoha besides... she's the only girl I don't have an embarrassing memory with
C. I feel like I need to clear things up with Hayate... it was pretty awkward last time...

I see the "choice" trend is still going strong, which should make things somewhat interesting

I read through your fic, and overall i like what you are doing thus far. The characters are decently portrayed, aside from Hayate, who seems way off the crazy end. Incidentally, she has already managed to blow my patience fuses in this story, and the less i see of her - the better

It's obvious something is going on in the background, likely with all the girls, but the scene with winged Fate really peaked my interest in her part. Unfortunately it seems that obtaining choice A is no longer an option, so that leaves me with an obvious choice to make - keep as far away from Hayate as possible

One Hope.

One Chance.

Never had the lives of so many rested solely in the hands of one person.

Standing over a great valley, the challenge stood waiting to be met.

Thousands of soldiers gathered staring up at the sole warrior on the crest, the sun setting in the background casting a red hue across the sky of the earth like planet.

Hundreds of shooting stars careened into the landscape around them, the battle above the atmosphere proving just as brutal as this one was going to be.

This one race had seeked to destroy them, though lacking magic, technology was abundant. One simple artificial virus had single handedly disabled the entire human female population through an immense epidemic.

The only thing that awaited them was death after some time of linker core degradation. It seems this race of humanoid insect like beings were unisex and had not foreseen it only affecting half of the human race. Fortunately for them it had acted on the most powerful side leaving….

“I am Erio Mondial….today I end this war!”

The warrior’s voice boomed across the valley as he jumped off of the crest and sped into the valley below.

“Strada!”

The valley erupted into scenes of explosions, battle cry’s and gunfire. Artillery, rifles, canon’s and hand to hand combat. A surprise attack had given them the edge on this insect’s research outpost, along with the possibility of obtaining the virus antidote. If they couldn’t get it, in a few more days, it wouldn’t matter anymore, the human race would destroy itself even though the virus had only been half effective.

“I have to get into that facility!”

Erio was the sole mage left capable of the task. The other most powerful men of the TSAB, Chrono, Zaphira, Vice, Griffith and Genya were holding the area above the planet, engaging their fleet in an all out battle. The longer Erio took, the more likely their advanced fleet would be destroyed before he obtained the antidote. Using his speed he had to make it through. Too many people he cared about were on the line!

‘Fate, Signum, Nanoha, Hayate, Vita, Shamal, Tia, Subaru……….CARO!!!!’

With another roar of determination Erio cleaved his way through tens of these creatures covering him in the green blood like substance that dwelled inside of them.

Watching from above you would see a desperate struggle. One red-headed now young man made his way through the defending army to the outpost.

“Chrono! Update, where’s Erio??!”

“He’s engaging the enemy, he’s meeting tough resistance but he’s making progress.”

Zaphira grunted to Chrono’s response and carried on fighting, leading his platoon in the newly developed space mage combat system giving them the slight edge over the technology that had overwhelmed them in this arena in the past. TSAB cruisers were defensive by nature. Now with Mages outside the ship like in atmospheric style battles. The overall attack power and defensive capabilities are increased.

Never had the human races of the TSAB administered republic been so united. Even if they were not as technologically advanced. Everyone was fighting for their loved ones and their survival. Their passion knew no equal, it was do or die.

However things took a turn for the worse.

“Erio’s made his way to the entrance of the facility Admiral Chrono he’s about to enter!”

“Confirmed.”

A bloody and wounded Erio appeared on the screen.

“If your not back in under ten minutes there’s no guarantee we will still be here Erio, make it fast!”

Erio needed no more encouragement he darted into the facility.

Camera’s showed his progress, cutting down everything in his way as he made his way to the control room.

That’s when it happened.

The screen went black as the facility exploded from a self-destruct sequence.

"Space Girl! What are you doing?!"

"Crouch! Now!" Vita screamed, Gary obeyed and jumped to the ground, Vita raised Graff Eissen and hit once again the ball, like a missile, I t smashed the door in wich Maligno nwas seen broken it to pices

Vita jumped, grabing Gary from his leg, fling out of the chamber just after the two walls meet each other, sealing the chamber, not even a hair was able to enter between the walls

"Yes, your quest concist in Killing the members of the Brotherhood of Death"

"Wow, wow, wow! Hold it! Hold it!" Vivio almos jumped out of her chair while telling this "Kill?! Did I miss something? He told me that he wanted me to help Vita, not to kill someone!"

"Actually, helping Vita is part of this, Reptile told me that this friend of you'rs named Vita, needed something, something that the brotherhood of Death is also searching, so, by killing them, you are helping Vita"

"Bu-bu-but... I... Why... why me then? If they are assasins, why don't they do it by themselves?!"

[I told you but you don't listened to me]

"That's why I asked to him, apartently, the Brotherhood of Death and the Black Dragon clan are enemies, so, none of the Black Dragon assasins could get close to the liders of the Brotherhood without been spoted... but you, you can go inside their files without been spoted, after all, they will never spect to been attacked by someone who's aparently gonna be the rest of her life in a hospital's bed, don't?"

Vivio then understood, it was very logicall, brillant almost

"Oh, by the way" Karil added "He also told me that the one who tried to kill you was a member of the Brotherhood of Death"

"What..." Vivio was shocked "He was...?"

"His name is Rage" Karil asked "Reptil though that you probably wanted to return the favor to the brotherhood"

"So I must kill Rage?"

"No... Your objetives are these" Karil took out a pice of paper and give it to Vivio, she opened it and saw 7 names listed on the paper

"I'll do it, just to help Vita"

"Wondefull! Now we both are friends!" Karil said whit a radiant smile on her face

"So... you are a member of the Black Dragon Clan?"

"No"

"Right... so why did Reptile wanted you to help me in my 'Quest'? Are you a mage?"

"No"

"Can you fight?"

"No"

"Weapons?"

"So?"

"Just let's say that I'm a smart girl" Karil added while munching the rest of her hamburger, after that, she gave Vivio a kind and cherefull smile

"I pay this time" Karil added "But next time you pay, okay?"

Vivio nooded, she couldn't help but laugh, this Karil seemed to be a good person, perhaps Vivio was in precence of a great friend

Information about the unknow guy, saved from the dead and the smart chick introduced in one chapter. What else can we wait?

The other most powerful men of the TSAB, Chrono, Zaphira, Vice, Griffith and Genya were holding the area above the planet, engaging their fleet in an all out battle. The longer Erio took, the more likely their advanced fleet would be destroyed before he obtained the antidote. Using his speed he had to make it through. Too many people he cared about were on the line!

‘Fate, Signum, Nanoha, Hayate, Vita, Shamal, Tia, Subaru……….CARO!!!!’

With another roar of determination Erio cleaved his way through tens of these creatures covering him in the green blood like substance that dwelled inside of them.

Watching from above you would see a desperate struggle. One red-headed now young man made his way through the defending army to the outpost.

“Chrono! Update, where’s Erio??!”

“He’s engaging the enemy, he’s meeting tough resistance but he’s making progress.”

Zaphira grunted to Chrono’s response and carried on fighting, leading his platoon in the newly developed space mage combat system giving them the slight edge over the technology that had overwhelmed them in this arena in the past. TSAB cruisers were defensive by nature. Now with Mages outside the ship like in atmospheric style battles. The overall attack power and defensive capabilities are increased.

Never had the human races of the TSAB administered republic been so united. Even if they were not as technologically advanced. Everyone was fighting for their loved ones and their survival. Their passion knew no equal, it was do or die.

However things took a turn for the worse.

“Erio’s made his way to the entrance of the facility Admiral Chrono he’s about to enter!”

“Confirmed.”

A bloody and wounded Erio appeared on the screen.

“If your not back in under ten minutes there’s no guarantee we will still be here Erio, make it fast!”

Erio needed no more encouragement he darted into the facility.

Camera’s showed his progress, cutting down everything in his way as he made his way to the control room.

That’s when it happened.

The screen went black as the facility exploded from a self-destruct sequence.

I read it many times and it took me between 1 minute 50 and 2 minutes 20 depending on speed. Makes a difference to the timing of the music. As everyone has different reading speeds i hope you got some effects from it.

In before plot doesn't make sense and arguments over technology vs magic and single sex viruses. It's just a random story i wrote to the song to make Erio the hero....

I think, although correct me if i'm wrong. The Space Mage battle System credit goes to TSS. I think its in RebelS. I know i read it somewhere i think its from there. So if it is from TSS. Then it's TSS's idea and all credit goes to her/him. I just used it to make the story work better. If its someone else. Replace TSS in the above with your name XD.

“Well, would you like to say anything else?” he asked, trying to coax the girl into talking a little about herself.

“Um, yes,” Reinforce replied, turning her head so she could face the teacher, “Where’s my seat?”

Chapter 1 - First Impressions

Hayate tried her best to stifle her giggles, but failed miserably. Fortunately she wasn’t alone, as half the class was laughing right along with her. Well, the point of introductions was to make a good first impression, and Reinforce had certainly managed to do that. When the teacher recovered from his surprise he pointed out the empty desk in the third row, and the transfer student moved to take her seat.

‘Drat, not next to me. Stupid mangas never get it right,’ Hayate whined to herself, sadly watching the girl from halfway across the room, feeling a little jealous as she saw seating neighbours introduce themselves to the new student. Now that Hayate had overcome the initial shock, both from the meeting in the hallway and the sudden appearance now, she took her time to watch Reinforce closer. She definitely had a foreign feel to her, and it wasn’t just the silver hair or deep red eyes. She was tall for one, several inches taller than any of her classmates, and she look a little more mature than an average fourteen year old girl, especially considering how well developed –

Blushing when she realized where she’d been staring, Hayate quickly averted her eyes, looking back to the front of the room where the teacher was talking. Trying her best not to get distracted again, she put an extra effort into focusing on the words, but in the end she couldn’t remember a single thing that was said.

Only when homeroom ended ten minutes later, and the teacher had left the room, did Hayate risk another glance at the transfer student, expecting the girl’s desk to be surrounded in a few moments. Her classmates didn’t disappoint as they immediately crowded around Reinforce, each filled with questions and curiosity.

“Ein, that’s German isn’t it? Are you from Germany?”

“Your Japanese is amazing, who taught you?”

“Is that your natural hair colour?”

Hayate smiled from her corner, both in amusement at her classmates’ predictability and at the knowledge that she wanted to be right in there as well, and would probably have been asking the most questions if she had. Reinforce seemed to take the bombardment of questions in full stride, not unnerved in the slightest by the crowd surrounding her. She responded briefly and succinctly without giving any real answers, like she was just trying to get through the questions as quickly as possible. It was that same cold and distant feeling that Hayate had felt before, like the girl was trying to avoid any real contact. Was it that icy wall around the girl that made Hayate so drawn to her?

It was lunch break, the first chance she had to get some time alone to herself, and she’d rushed out from the classroom as quickly as she could, making her way to the very back of the field where she’d spotted some nice shaded trees earlier. It wasn’t exactly the most comfortable of places, the grass was poorly kept and was a little prickly, but she couldn’t complain too much considering it was still nice and secluded. After all, that was why she’d run off in the first place, to avoid all the prying and probing from classmates filled with curiosity. Stretched out on her back, staring up at swaying branches and rustling leaves, she almost wanted to fall asleep and let the rest of the day pass by. She’d expected it all, of course, knowing perfectly well that she couldn’t just walk into a classroom in the middle of a semester without having everyone’s attention. It was exactly the same, every single time…

“Finally found you!”

Groaning when she heard the irritatingly cheerful voice, Reinforce sat up, turning to see who had intruded on her peace. She was surprised, though, when she saw a slight, brunette girl coming towards in a wheelchair.

“Should you be over here?” she inquired, wondering how far the girl had pushed herself just to search her out. From the sounds of the girl’s heavy breathing and reddened face, it looked like she’d been around the entire building.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” the girl answered, her cheeks puffing out in indignation. Reinforce took a moment to realize what she’d said, and suddenly panicked, realizing how tactless the question had been.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean – I was just surprised to see that you were – I mean, I haven’t spoken to anyone who’s – um,” she trailed off, realizing that her attempts at apologizing weren’t very successful. Thinking that she’d only managed to insult the girl even more, Reinforce dropped her gaze ashamedly.

For her part, Hayate was biting her tongue to stop herself from smiling. The angry retort had been reflexive and not genuine, and she had immediately regretted it the moment the words had left her mouth. She had intended to apologize immediately, but when her new classmate had suddenly become so flustered she couldn’t help but try and see how far this could go. It was convenient too, since she’d spent the last few hours trying to figure out how to get the girl to talk to her. Now that she’d had an opportunity handed right to her she was going to make the most of it.

“Oh? What are you trying to say, exactly?” Hayate said, barely keeping the teasing tone out of her voice.

“Well, it’s just,” Reinforce started, and made a telling glance at the wheelchair. Not entirely sure how to continue, she tried avoiding the subject altogether. “You just surprised me.”

“Hmm? Is that it?” Hayate pressed, leaning forward a little. To her glee the girl blushed ever so slightly and averted her eyes, avoiding eye contact.

“Y-yes.”

“Oh really? And here I was, searching through the entire school just to thank you properly for helping me out this morning,” she said, putting on an air of innocence.

“This morning?” the silver-haired girl asked wonderingly, as she tried to remember where the two had met earlier. Her face was telling as the memory dawned on her. “At the lockers?”

“Tsk, and you didn’t even remember me. I don’t think you even deserve my thanks any more,” Hayate huffed, turning around immediately so she could start wheeling herself back towards the school building. Behind her Reinforce stammered out several apologies, not realizing that the brunette was silently laughing to herself with a wide grin on her face.

To tell the truth, Hayate was a little surprised at the transfer student’s reactions. Considering how the girl had brushed off all of the inquiring classmates, and the way she had avoided any real contact with other people all morning, Hayate had expected her to be far more closed and dismissive. To find that she wasn’t was a delightful surprise, to say the least, but all it really did was make the brunette even more curious. Even though she seemed like such a kindhearted person, the girl seemed so unwilling to connect with anyone around her. Just what was it that made her push people away?

Like in the mornings, she preferred to wait until the hallways were much less crowded, and as a result always ended up being the last one to leave the classroom. When she finally pulled away from her desk, though, she was caught by surprise when she felt a gentle weight press down on her wheelchair. Glancing up over her shoulder, Hayate saw a new but increasingly familiar face peering down at her.

“Do you mind if I - ?” Reinforce asked, motioning slightly as she gripped the handles at the back of the chair, and Hayate nodded her consent quickly. Starting at a slow and cautious pace, the two left the room and headed towards the entrance, Reinforce guiding the wheelchair with steady hands. Normally Hayate refused to let anyone push her, though Signum frequently ignored those complaints, but she decided to make an exception this time. After her mean little trick at lunch it was the least she could do to be accommodating. Besides, it wasn’t like she wanted to drive the girl away or anything.

“So,” Reinforce started, but paused immediately. “Um…I’m sorry, I never got your name.”

“It’s Yagami. Yagami Hayate.”

“Right…um, Hayate then,” the girl began again. Hayate was a little surprised that her given name was used, but quickly remembered that the girl was foreign. She waited for Reinforce to continue, guessing at what she would say.

“About what I said at lunch, I want to apologize. I was just surprised when I saw you, and I spoke without thinking,” Reinforce said. Now that she’d had time to think and recover from the awkwardness, the girl had once again reverted to her serious demeanor. It made Hayate a little disappointed, but actually getting the transfer student to approach her was definitely a step in the right direction. Of course, the brunette wasn’t one to settle for baby steps.

“I suppose I can forgive you this time,” Hayate said melodramatically. They had reached the lockers already, the area predictably empty considering the time. With a quick tug, the wheelchair was pulled out from Reinforce’s light grip, and Hayate wheeled herself straight towards the exit. Just as she was leaving, she looked back over her shoulder with a sly smile on her face.

“After all, I got to see Ein-san’s cute side.”

Laughing freely when she saw the poor girl’s widened eyes and steadily rising blush, Hayate turned back and hurried off to meet Signum, who was already standing and waiting at the school gate.

When they arrived home, Hayate cheerfully entered first, calling out loudly as she wheeled through the doorway. “I’m back!”

A loud bark was the first response she received as the large blue dog sitting in the entryway stood, quickly walking over to the girl to lick at her cheek.

“Hello Zafira, I’m happy to see you too,” Hayate said, ruffling the big dog’s fur as she gave him a hug.

“Hayate!” came a small voice, and a short red-haired girl came running from the living room, jumping up so she could wrap her arms tightly around the brunette.

“Vita, you’re already home?” Hayate said, returning the embrace tightly.

“Welcome back,” another voice said, and a short-haired blonde woman stepped into the hallway, smiling warmly. “How was your day?”

“My day? It was great.”

“I’m home!” Reinforce called as she opened the door to the apartment. When there was no reply, she sighed and entered, locking the door tightly behind her. Slipping her shoes off, she padded lightly down the small hallway towards the kitchen. As she flicked the light switch on the room suddenly filled with a dim glow, and her eyes mechanically moved down to the kitchen table where she saw a small handwritten note, as expected. She didn’t need to read it to know what it said, but did so anyway out of habit.

“We’re going to be working late, don’t wait on us for dinner. Love Mom and Dad,” Reinforce read aloud. Tossing the note into the garbage, the girl walked over to the freezer, feeling too lazy to take the time to cook. Pulling out a small instant dinner, she slipped it into the microwave, setting the time. While she waited, bored as she watched the glowing numbers count down, she felt a soft brushing up against her ankles, and she glanced down at the reddish ball of fur that was rubbing against her legs.

“Hello Agito,” she said, smiling as she picked up the small kitten. It mewed at her, waving its paws at her face as it tried to bat her nose. “So how was your day?”

The cat cocked its head to the side, like it almost understood the question. After a few moments it mewed again, waving its paw in the air.

“Mine?” Reinforce asked, “It was nice. I met someone interesting today.”

Great beggining. The second part was so cute...

“S-so Nanoha-san, I guess you're wondering what that was,” I tried to lighten the mood by chuckling but it came out as a sickly chicken.

“Not really no,” Nanoha brushed me off like that. It was so unNanoha I couldn't believe it. Where was the cheery girl I knew well... well decently well?

“Nanoha-san?”

She turned away from me, her back becoming a barrier between us.

“EHHYAA!” Just as I was about to speak again two fingers lightly poked into my delicate sides.

“Look sharp Yuuno-kun,” Hayate warned me as class begun.

I spent every interval of time trying to get Nanoha to talk, only to find her ignoring m, caught up in her own thoughts I supposed, I couldn't help but notice she looked like she was about to cry. I was going to try and talk to her during lunch but before I could even stand Arisa and Suzuka were by her side and they were off. When I turned Fate and Hayate were gone as well.

“Hey~Yuuno~” Vice clapped me on the shoulder, “Good job. Testarossa never calls anyone by name but you're not only on first name basis with her your just Yuuno!” He slung his arm around my neck as I stood, “You're like the star of your own private harem series buddy!”

Griffith smiled with pity and patted my shoulder, “try not to get a bad end.”

“I'll try...”

I finally got my one chance after school. Nanoha and I lived in something like the same direction. Arisa and Suzuka didn't.

“Nanoha-san!” I jogged after her, she was quickly power walking ahead of me, “Wait up!”

I get the feeling either the relationship developments are being a bit rushed, or there is more going on behind scenes then we get to know.

That aside, this sure didn't turn out very nicely ... now, as for the situation itself ... as they say, best defense is a strong offense - an enemy that is busy defending won't have time to attack. And if the thing is kept distracted even for a bit, Nanoha might come up with something ... trying to "protect" her once ended badly already, so lets not step on the same landmine again. Even if his goal is to protect Nanoha, that is best acomplished by distracting the thing, thus B
