Beatrix still intimidating as ever. I want to see more of her past in relation with Irisdina.
Doesn't surprise me that Katia isn't trusted by a lot of people except maybe Pham so far. Action seems decent so far but like in many wars, there's always casualties ;_; I don't trust what the Stasi are doing at all. They should of been there to help out the 666th squad...

There are 2 points of view to analize this episode.
1) From anime-only people this episode was "ok" or "decent" since there isn't much info dump at this point. 2) From VN/LN readers this was super rushed and the studio cut most of the information/backgroud, specially in Beatrix case. I don't know what to expect in the upcoming episodes considering how rushed was episode 1 and 2 but at least they're doing a decent job showing how each character has their own problems and why Katia isn't accepted by some of her comrades, she's incredible naive meanwhile Theo is super edgy. |

Great reinforcement there. Now the major and a whole TSF battalion is dead, but I guess that was what the Stasi hoped to accomplish. Good to see both Pham and Katia survive although it looks like Pham might be in a coma? Otherwise I can't really explain the "but". Or the but is meant for "they are still in Fort Neuhagen which means they are as good as dead".

Damn, Sylvia doesn't hold back does she? But Katia needs a wake up call - wrong anime to be the innocent moe girl.
2 eps in and I'm already afraid of of more members of squad 666 dying, before we even get to know them that well. The Stasi have squad 666(and every1 else for that matter) on a leash. Lying about the reinforcements was so dirty, and even worse, splitting them up. I wonder if Pham will make it to the 4th episode... Theodor might be kind of a jerk but the guy has reasons to, given the circumstances. Hoping for some solid character development from him, although given the tone of the anime, several of his squad's deaths will probably be required for that. Granted, they don't really seem too close... |

Katia is a wide eyed idealistic and that causes tension with the rest of the squad. Sylvia had no problem showing her disdain for Katia's ideals.
Katia does have a point about the Stasi but no one really has the power to fight against them.

Actually, Stasi action doesn't make much sense to me. Sure, they don't care if they send their people to their death. But to outright lie in operation planning. How can that officer not be held responsible ? And that is a trivia matter. What if the defend line actually collapse because of this misinformation. What good will that do to them ? I know this is core theme of Muv-Luv and I don't quite buy it. How can humanity unable to come together against such powerful common foe........to such idiotic extent. Both anime adaptation have yet to convinced me on that. On topic of rushing, since I never read source material, I don't know what is cut out. From anime-only watcher point of view, I think the pacing itself is good so far. Perhaps, some background explanation and world building can be added later on ?

Props to humanity in this series for being this damn incompetent. I mean geeze the Stasi seem to think this is still classic Nazi Germany and that there isn't a wave of man-eating monsters about to wash over them and kill everyone. This isn't like the regular past where the worst thing that happens is that your country gets put in a really bad state here. Literally everyone will be eaten alive!

Count me in as someone else also baffled at how stupid humanity seems to be in the Muv Luv universe. They are literally spending their time sabotaging one another and their own military when they don't seem to be anywhere near close to defeating the BETA.

It's just Muv Luv characters being Muv Luv characters....sense is not exactly to be found in the entire setting
