Erm, no, everything accounted, Railgun 2 needs to come first before Index 3.

You don't want to have to revisit the Sisters Arc after the events of WWIII, trust me, it would feel wrong.

As for science enemies, there's really no shortage.

So we can have a Magic Side Antagonist for A Certain SCIENTIFIC Railgun, huh? But hey, Index even has Accel for a temporary Science side antagnoist.

You... really don't know how many enemies there are on the science side do you.. Like the other Level 5s are anything? No? Nothing? Nevermind...

Hey now, be nice. Not everyone reads the novels, and you don't really hear much about level 5's in the amine other then Mikoto and Accelerator.

Well the season finale was interesting. I'm surprise that Shiage is voiced by Yuji and doesn't sounds like Yuji too! Plus he looks better in the anime, unlike his LN look which was...not pretty.

Anyhoo, i gives this episode an 8. This wasn't the wham finale i wanted but still good.

PS:Here's hoping for a 2nd season of Railgun...or Shana 3rd and final season.

Felt this ep was rushed (then again, I read the novels...), but my main annoyance with this episode is that they didn't say where Touma picked up that piece of bulletproof glass.

Well not a bad way to wrap things up. Normally I'd be bothered with Index's random head biting, but Touma deserved something like that this time. Without Accelerator Touma and Mikoto's mother would have gotten themselves killed all because they didn't want to drag Mikoto into it. This is an assassination attempt on her mother, think she probably would have liked to be apprised of the situation. It would have been safer and easier to just let her blast the Skillout guys to hell. Don't think she would have been all that happy to see their corpses just because they decided she shouldn't know about it.

And really Touma going on a speech about being a level 0 when you have such a special ability just sounds fake. The key points were true, but he shouldn't act like he's a normal person when he's not.

A well done job by Accelerator though. He got his target after a rough fight, he took care of some side business (which would have been nice to see a bit of), and he saved Touma and Mikoto's mother. A busy day, but he managed to get it all taken care of without much fuss. Good luck taking care of the higher ups since with their ability to mess with his power activation it's a risky venture.

Well not all level 0's are powerless. Take Tsuchimikado for instance, he's a level 0 but he technically has his auto-rebirth ability.

Description of a level 0 from the Index wiki:
"Exceptions aside, cannot be considered completely powerless, but are the so-called "students that can't keep up at school". Might possess some degree of power, but unable to truly control it. "

This is a great prelude before third season
and maybe this is the only episode where Touma's speech isn't too boring for me... ^^
go Accelerator & teams.... I think he is evolved to my favourite character in Index right now....

so, I wouldn't really say that "Might possess some degree of power, but unable to truly control it" applies to him.

True, his special ability can cancel out most esper and magic related attacks, but then again his power is only in his right hand. It's only on one specific part of his body. I really wouldn't call that much of control. If he had any control of it, it would be to activate on and off at will and maybe spread throughout his whole body, but it's just his right hand. Catch off guard or preventing him from using his right hand would get him killed if not hurt.

I'm not very sure, but I remember Aleister saying that Touma's ability is neither magic nor esper, so I don't really think you can apply "Level 0" onto him.

He is only labeled "Level 0" for technical and political purposes.

Despite this, IB still isn't esper nor magic ability.

Spoiler for GIFs: Spoiler for final thoughts: well, this 2nd season was a bit of a letdown compared to the 1st. I remember waiting impatiently for the new episode every week, during 1st season. But this time, that same feeling was not there anymore; it seems to me that this 2nd season was just dragging itself along, or was I dragging myself to watch it? dunno... chara designs and animation quality were particularly inconsistent throughout the whole series. I really hope they'll fix these issues when making season 3, otherwise is just gonna be another major letdown. then again, I heard that things just get way more bloody/violent from here onwards, and honestly that doesn't really bode well for me, since I'm certainly not looking forward to excessive gore/violence in my anime. that being said, I think I'm more hyped for Railgun 2 than Index III. to sum it up, all I can remember from this 2nd season is: "Oriana's BOOBS (caps-lock since they're BIG), Pedo-Stiyl, the fact that Accelerator doesn't give a damn about a well-endowed woman nekkid-body, Kihara trolling Accelerator, Awaki's legs, Touma punching lolis in the face, Aleister endlessly grinning, an army of battle nuns puncturing their ear-drums, and Laura's wet-service in the bath-tub..." -- dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing... overall, I give this series a 6/10 for the first-half (i.e. 'till the end of the Italy-arc) and 7/10 from there onwards. really could've been better, 1st season was 8.5/10 for me... but this season just wasn't that good. OK. Now, onto SHANA III! Fall 2011, am I rite? __________________
