This chapter look have some development in it!,so I will preserve it for a while in my HD, but once Hata disappointed plot rise again, I will banish it like other predecessor

hmm I find it doubtful that A-tan actually wants him back, considering she's still hurting from what happened between them. It's definitely the stone, which Wataru has, right? Or maybe it's Hayate's necklace thing that Mikado gave him oh so long ago?

Any one have this weird feeling that Mikado's entire purpose in going through all these magical articles is to revive Nagi's mom? The serious chapters of this manga want's to point toward a bigger story.

Well, it's sort of been hinted (by Maria, I believe) he really loved his daughter. I wouldn't be surprised if he's planning on doing something like that.

Personally, I think whatever he plans to do involves the Royal Garden. And the effects of his plans won't be good. I wouldn't know if Athena knows of his motives, but I wouldn't be surprised if she knows what he's planning on doing and what effects his plans will have, and thus, she's trying to stop it.

Something we haven't been told yet is why and how Athena ended up outside the Royal Garden. In chapter 186, we saw that she remained in the Royal Garden after Hayate left, but in chapter 187 we saw her in Athens saying something about Sanzen'in Mikado having stolen something from the Royal Garden, and then she also said something about "opening the road towards her Royal Garden once more". She said that last line again on chapter 218, but in that chapter she added she needed some stone to be able to do so. All of this pretty much tells us not only she ended up outside the Royal Garden, for some unknown reason, but that, in addition, she's unable to go back.

There are some other things out there. If I remember correctly, it was Sanzen'in Mikado who had Hakuo Academy built. That academy was built in the same place where the gate towards the Royal Garden was located. The name of the academy is the same as the sword of justice Athena showed Hayate. The academy's clocktower's name is "Garden Gate".

There are some unanswered questions as well. Who is Athena? Why was she in the Royal Garden? What is the Royal Garden? Why were there pictures of it in those murals in Greece? Why did Athena get serious when Hayate approached that coffin? What was inside that coffin? What is Athena's and Maria's relationship? Was the ring Athena gave Hayate important to her? If it was, why?

Chapter 123, Vol 12-5.

I think I'll stop speculating for a bit before I spoil Hayate's funny moments This is getting kinda gloomy and I'm sure the author doesn't want to tell the story that way. This manga is designed to reveal a bigger story but do it in a fun lighthearted way vs other way more serious mangas. Its like a complete parody of them where he wants to tell the same story but do it so you laugh along the way.

The manga does have its serious moments, but I don't think their purpose is to make the story gloomy. If you take a look at them, it involves about moving on from the past, learning from whatever went wrong and to try to live happily in the present by doing your best. (The best example would be Hayate trying to get over all of his misfortune. In addition, there's Nagi accepting her mother's death. And there's also the Katsura sisters' story.) I guess Mikado is supposed to be an example of someone who cannot do that, and who'd rather deny what happened in the past.

By the way, I've just noticed Mikado looks like Hayate's Santa Claus.

First of all, pg. 112 in the raw scan made me melt.
But also, the way Hayate words it...he realizes that Hina "has something to confess to him." It's never made clear if Hayate understands at all what that "something" actually is. If Hayate's gonna stay the thick-headed dimwit (when it comes to girls at least!) that he's been throughout the whole series, he's gonna be in for a surprise...But then again, the serious look on his face and the overall mood of the scene would say that he probably has a good idea what Hina wants to say to him...

I just noticed that the text on the right hand side of the last page seems to back up my first idea, that Hayate still doesn't know what's going on. It says "Something seems just a little off...but it feels dead on in the bigger picture. Did the butler's sharp but off-target words bring about a sudden twist?!"

For people who have no idea what's going on in Hata's diary:

Spoiler for Some info I got from this week's Hata's diary:

Hata said he had made 5 endpoints for this series so that he could end it anytime he wants. After all, it was unclear from the start how far this series could go. This arc is one of those endpoints he had set up. And by the look of what he says, the inheritance matter will be solved in Mykonos arc.

And as for the end of the series, I think it'll last for another year at least. We have Maria's birthday to go(which is 24th of December), and Hata mentioned that 'Characters fron 'Lifesavers!'(his previous series) will appear more as the storyline reaches summer'. We all know how slow this series's pace is. He also asked in his diary 'What do kids these days get for summer holiday homework?' so it's not gonna end anytime soon.
