^My guess is that he's only talking about changing minor details, not anything drastic. Otherwise, I'm on the same page as you.... Oda should stick to his own flow, not pander to the audience. In fact, we already have examples of him sticking to his guns (notice he still has no intention of reviving Ace, despite the character's popularity). That being said, I feel pretty confident that the series will overall end as Oda envisioned, small details aside.

Well, it's clearly interesting that Oda makes Amazon Lily Arc so his child won't keep asking or blabbering about how he draw girls breasts if he do that after his child was born.

At least he took the advice from the doctor very clearly though since if you oppose the doctor, your career can be in danger through health condition.

I wonder how big is his house and his workplace, anyway. Too cramped? Nope. He needs a total silence when working. Hopefully sizable enough for him and his assistant.

(Hoping Oda's wife can also act like Nami to break Luffy's spirit when he overwork himself so he can get some relax from time to time.)

First off, here's February's Vivre Card info (it has some particularly interesting info about the Blackbeard pirates!). Next up, volume 92's SBS info is out, so let's see what we've got:

-As mentioned above, we have future Nami:

Images
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

^BTW, the reader who requested that asked for future Robin as well, but Oda said that will wait until next time.

-Someone asks why Oda uses the sound effects "ben" (べん) and "beben" (べべーん) instead of the usual "don" (ドン) for the Wano arc. The author replies that he's emulating the sound of a biwa (aka the Japanese lute), though the instrument he's mainly shown being played so far was the shamisen. He concludes by expressing his wish for the anime team to portray the music well when they reach this point in the story.

-A reader notes that the usually-busty female characters seem to have their ample bosoms hidden away when wearing kimonos. Oda says he got letters from fans who pointed out that real-life busty women would often hide their chests in kimonos to better emphasize their silhouettes, so he took that advice to heart in his drawings.

-Someone asks how Zoro's swords would look should they be personified. Oda complies:

Images
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

-More pervy stuff: Someone thought Momonosuke may have been an adult since he said he met Roger, but after the time travel reveal, it turns out he's just a pervert kid who enjoys getting spoiled by Nami and Robin. Another reader says men become Nami's slave because of her huge pair of "kibidangos" (), and lastly, Oda confirms that now that Shiryuu has the suke suke ability.... he will indeed use it to peep on women's baths!

-Fave and least fave foods of the seven captains of the Straw-Hat grand fleet:

Quote:
Cavendish

Likes: Roses
Hates: Ramen

Bartolomeo

Likes: Dagashi (cheap candy/snacks)
Hates: Veggies

Don Sai

Likes: Bento from his sweetheart
Hates: Crab

Ideo

Likes: Doner kebab
Hates: Pork

Leo

Likes: Pumpkin
Hates: Spicy foods

Hajrudin

Likes: Meatballs
Hates: Semla

Orlumbus

Likes: Boiled eggs
Hates: Fancy cooking
^Interesting tidbit there about Hajrudin disliking semla. I have a feeling we can thank Linlin for that....

-Someone points out that Sanji's goatee is missing the line leading to his mouth since arriving at Wano (an example is shown on the page with the future Nami drawings). The reader thinks it might be another symbol of the cook distancing himself from Judge, but Oda more or less admits he forgot to draw it (though he also claims Sanji just shaved it off, heh), and promises the missing bit of facial hair will return!

-A reader notices that in chapter 916, there was a flag with the characters "猛岩斧関" (something like "fierce boulder axe gate"), which seems to be a reference to the early villain, Axe-Hand Morgan. While Oda says the characters do refer to Morgan, that was really more of an Easter egg that his background assistants drew as a joke. In fact, there may be even more such Easter eggs hidden throughout the panels....

-Here's a really interesting one: Someone notes that the carpenter boss Franky worked for resembles "Minatoma-san", the carpenter from Luffy's hometown of Fuschia Village! Oda says that while it's not the same person, both Minatomas ARE related. For as it turns out, a ship from Wano sailed to East Blue a few decades ago, and a descendant of one of those passengers is someone us readers are familiar with. Interestingly, Oda says he's even thinking of touching a bit more on this in the main story, though he notes it won't be a major plot point, just something minor.

^Whoa, is Oda hinting that Zoro may have Wano lineage!? And I guess the "good future" Nami learned Dr. Kureha's secret to eternal youth (her age 60 design reminds me more of Shakky, though). Some pretty cool stuff this SBS. Well, until next time!

The descendants from Wano are most likely Kuina's family, hence why it'll be a minor plot point. Zoro learned swordmanship from Kuina's father and therefore the "yell" from Wano from him.

Paying close attention to Zoro's flashback(s), I noted that he just showed up one day at Koushirou's dojo, but there is nothing about where he was before that, or about his parentage, just like with Sanji (and Nami, for that matter). I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Zoro has some significant connection to Wano. In fact, I'd be more surprised if he didn't. Still, it could be a red herring by Oda. We'll just have to see.

Yes, I think there is some connection between Zoro and Wano; and also maybe between Kuina and Tashigi

Iiiiiiiit's SBS time! Let's see what tidbits of info volume 93 gives us, shall we?

-Someone asks Oda to show the "ha" reactions of the rest of the Straw-Hats. The author obliges:

-Someone asks what the animal Hawkins was riding on is called, and if they're exclusive to Wano. Oda confirms the animal is called a "Komashika" ("shika" meaning deer), and along with the Komainu (inu=dog), Komadane (as in Great Dane), and Komatori (rooster), are all animals unique to Wano. Something they all share in common is the flamelike fur and feathers. Oda notes that Wano has many more types of these animals, but is unsure if they'll all have a chance to appear in the story.

-Someone asks about the cream Sanji made for Big Mom's cake. Oda explains that it's sesame-based, and talks a bit about its history, as well as the connection to the tale of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (referring to the "open sesame" phrase, of course). Sanji brought out the full taste and power of sesame in that cream. Oda also reveals that, unbeknownst to Sanji, the very same cream was used for Big Mom's favorite food, semla, which is why it had such a profound effect on her....

-Someone wants to visit Wano's mixed baths. Oda reprimands the reader, and points out that mixed bathing was common in Edo period Japan. As Wano is obviously inspired by that period of history, the baths naturally had to be included for culture's sake.... though Oda's nose begins bleeding at the end of his response.

-Someone asks about one of the RA soldiers sitting near Koala in chapter 905, a woman with mechanical arms. Oda explains that she's Ahiru, the deputy commander of Belo Betty of the East Army. Oda also points out that there are five commanders in the RA, representing the four Blues and the Grand Line. Ivankov is the commander for the GL division, with Inazuma being the deputy commander.

-Someone thinks that Wano's clouds look like farts. Oda denies this, but when another reader asks how Kaidou floats in the air in his dragon form, the author responds that dragons supposedly roam the skies by using clouds, so he probably generates his own "clouds" to walk on, heh.

-Someone asks about the tanuki in Tama's house. Oda reveals something interesting: It's actually a teapot that "ate" the Inu Inu no Mi: Model Tanuki! Tama's master Hitetsu used to use him to boil tea, but that's not possible anymore now that he's a living animal. Oda also points out something that no reader has seemed to notice so far: "Bunbuku-kun" (the tanuki) is actually sitting on his own balls, something the author found hilarious as he drew it alone!

-We learn the name of Whitebeard's weapon! It's a naginata known as the Murakumo-giri (or Cloud Cutter), and is a supreme class of weapon!

-Someone asks if Nami's Happiness Punch is still worth 100,000 berry, or if it costs more now that her body has further developed. Though Oda notes that her Happiness Punch in Wano was unintentional, the price should now be triple what it was previously.... so 300,000!

-Someone claims that Sakazuki calls Rob Lucci a pervert (ero) in Film Gold. However, he was actually calling him "erau" (偉う, great, distinguished), heh.

-Last one: At Zou, Kinemon didn't seem to be aware of den den mushi (aka transponder snails). However, we see snails are being used in Wano, which are smaller than the ones used throughout the series. Oda confirms that the pond snails gained popularity during Kinemon's 20-year absence, and is now a common method of communication. There are also the "light pond snails" used to broadcast videos. However, Wano's pond snails have a slightly weaker wavelength compared to normal den den mushis....

Whew, some interesting info, all right! Too bad there were no good/bad future drawings this time around (guess Oda figured the "ha" drawings would make up for it, heh). Anyway, that's it for now!

Maybe in a spin-off series. I have yet to see any felines unique to Wano.

I’ve lost track on how many objects there are total with Devil Fruit powers.

I wonder at what point in Nami’s life that she decided to raise the price? (Some changes can be so cruel. &#128575 Certainly not after the unintended incident in Wano.

Someday we will be introduced to a pond snail that will project holographic images whenever the series goes into Star Wars territory.

So, here's something interesting.... Oda recently had an interview with some Youtubers, where he revealed some rather fascinating info. Credit goes to AP's Sandman for the summary:

Quote:
90 minutes ago, Japanese Youtubers called Fischer's posted a video of Oda’s studio. They held an interview with Oda.
Here is my summary of the interview. Oda said he’d like to finish OP in 5 years. He kindly gave 7 autographs to each of the Youtubers.

Video: https://youtu.be/sTgvB0Vpyxk

- Oda says he’d like to finish OP in 5 years.
- The great incident caused by Straw Hat Grand Fleet mentioned in Dressrosa arc will happen “soon”. (Not sure how exactly “soon” Oda meant)
- Oda loves Sushi so much.
- Oda’s shoe size is 26.5cm.
- Oda started playing futsal for the first time in 20 years, but he ended up getting injured many times. So he recently decided to take a walk to improve his health.
-There is a rumor that Oda has Automated Teller Machine to withdraw money in his house, but he denies.
- Oda says Stampede has a hint about Raftel that OP fans would be willing to discuss. (Probably implying "Laugh Tale" thing. Now we can safely assume the romanization is official.)
- Oda didn’t draw Raftel island in the map mentioned by Crocus.
- After a discussion about Bullet’s bounty in Stampede, they decided not to reveal it
- Straw Hats broke up in Sabaody before time skip. The locations where each crewmates sent (ex. Amazon Lily) were chosen by Kuma’s own will.

Spoiler:
^Looks like the biggest thing most people will take from this is Oda wanting to end OP in five years..... but personally, I'd take that with a grain of salt (remember, he also wanted to end the series in 5 years when serialization first began, yet here we are over 20 years later! ). Personally, I'm more interested in the other info, particularly about the incident caused by the grand fleet (looks like he's hinting they'll be involved in Wano), and the apparent official romanization of Raftel (Laugh Tale, eh?)......

Even if it takes more than five years (it will), the fact he's saying this probably means both Kaidou and Big Mom will be taken out during the Wano arc.

Gotta love Oda's estimations.

It'll take more than 5 years, but not much more I think. All that's left really after Wano is Shanks, Blackbeard, Revolutionaries, and the WG. We are indeed at the endgame stage.

Well, as far as remaining arcs go, there's still Elbaf. I mean, Luffy and Usopp have wanted to visit that place for a long time, they've made several giant friends from there, and in recent years we've even been made aware of Big Mom's connection to that place, so it wouldn't do for Oda to skip that now, would it? Heck, we've still yet to be introduced to Lola's former betrothed, prince Loki....

If it was 5 years, added with 3x release a month (Exclude Shueisha break and include Oda's monthly break), then it will be like 3x12x5 = 180 chapters but that won't be happen since Wano could be finished in at least two years before moving on to the next one.

The strawhats will pay Elbaf a visit, no doubt. But given all this talk lately of One Piece nearing its end, it may not be a long arc. Perhaps something akin to Fishman Island or even Zou in terms of length. It should be a part of the Yonkou saga so Shanks and/or Blackbeard could be involved over there in some capacity.
