Just saw the movie in the cinema today, I have to say it was a very good adaptation. In fact, it did a better job than the manga in conveying the plot, the manga tends to get a bit long-winded with its explanations.

I wonder if they would use an original ending for the second movie, as the Cat and Mouse game between Light and L intensifies, with Misa in the fray as well. Surly they can't omit Rem?

By the way, here's a spoof Death Note clip. It shows Jackie Chan getting drunk in a concert and talking and singing incoherently, pissing off the fans. As a result, Light kills him off with his DN. lol

No one did, and no one will upload the movie. At least until the DVD come out.

The first half of the first movie is floating aroud, but thats it.

Hmmm... so far, i din hear anything abt the third movie. Maybe, they haf to gauge on the box office of the second movie before deciding???

Just watched it a few hours ago. My country only started airing the movie yesterday, but the official release of the movie is supposed to be on the 19th of October. I thought the movie was great and all....at least its not that predictable for those who'd read the manga. Not sure whether its supposed to be funny but...those people watching the movie with me were laughing when they see L and Ryuk's weird eating habits.

Spoiler for Movie thoughts, movie and manga spoilers included: Light started out as a college student studying law instead of a high school student. Shiori, Light's girlfriend, is only in the movie. Movie Light tends to waste a lot of DN paper space. At this rate, he'll use up the DN before he even seriously gets started. (Not to worry, as the manga mentioned one rule that, as long as Light doesn't forfeit ownership, the DN will never run out of pages. ) Manga Light fills up every inch with as many names as possible. lol Instead of in his room, in the movie Ryuuk appears in front of Light in the streets where he first picked up the DN. Ryuuk's CG appearance is flawless. In the manga, Watari is a European man. Live TV show-down between Kira and L (with Lind L Tailor as sacrifice) sets the battle between these two. Raye Penber's name is changed to Raye Iwamatsu. How Light killed him and the other FBI agents are the same in both the movie and manga. Of the detectives that decided to remain behind with Light's dad, the chief investigator, there were no females in the manga. The female detective Sanami is added, though I don't know what for, she barely gets any lines. Matsuda (the young, clumsy one) tends to stand out more. L is just as everyone has seen him in the manga, having a sweet tooth, and sits funnily, not to mention being the eccentric genius. Misa makes a brief appearance in this movie, first in the bus commercial, and then in the TV programme. By the end of this movie, she obtains the second DN, this would bring her to Light in the second movie. The art gallery climax is completely original. In the manga, Naomi Misora didn't know Light was Kira yet, this allows Kira time to figure out her real name and make her kill herself quietly. In the movie, she directly accuses Light of being Kira, then she kidnaps Shori and confronts Light at the art gallery, thinking she could help L by making Light kill her under camera surveillance. Amidst the confusion, Shiori attempts to escapes and was killed, overcome with madness, Naomi shoots herself as well. Little did she know her true name was already figured out by Light and every one of her action was being controlled up to her death. I personally find this scene well executed, and Naomi at least went with a bang (literally) instead of dying ignominously. This scene also revealed Light's ruthless manipulative nature (suits his character well) as he also orchestrated Shiori's death, making everyone think that Light was innocent. Of course, L wasn't easily fooled. Light and L's first meeting sets the tone for the second movie.
