Hmm maybe I was remembering Musashi. Getting refitted for maiden battle then bombed before even reaching refit.

If 27-28 knots was her theoretical top speed. What was Yamato's recorded top speed?

I'm sorry to butt in again, but can we wrap this discussion -right now-?
This is why I warned about this matter in both here and the anime thread, as it derails the threads way too much.

Any thoughts on Hatsushimo's remod level for her K2? Mine's only lv 50 atm and I sure as hell hope it won't be 70 like for Fubuki. It'd make me cry.

There is no hint whatsoever, and the devs usually announce something like "high level, "very high level" etc only few hours before the maintenance is over.
Considering Hatsuharu, it is very likely Hatsushimo will require level 60-65. That said, since she took part of Bounomisaki, there is a small chance that it actually require lvl 70+. The safest bet would be lvl 65.

YAMATO was at Leyte and saw ship vs ship surface action at the Samar battle as part of that campaign

New examining of evidence reveals she was responsible for delivering the kill shots on aircraft carrier GAMBIER BAY (via single 18" shell) and DDs HOEL (via 6" salvo) and JOHNSTON (via her only 18" salvo fired on JOHNSTON) as well as hitting carrier WHITE PLAINS from over 30 km away which woul force he to sit out the rest of the war in dock for repairs (surely one of the longest range salvos in naval gunnery history). At Samar, she was the most effective ship in combat on the side of Dai Ichi Yugeki Butai...much more so than her celebrated cuiser escorts Chokai and Chikuma. Her optical fire control proved much more accurate than widely believed (not radar accurate of course, but enough for combat effectiveness at long ranges and ideally, with spotter plane assitance) and had she ever faced her only true competitor IOWA the American BB would be in for a truly rough fight.

Source: The World Wonder'd - What Really Happened Off Samar by Robert Lundgren

The main reason she pulled away was Kurita's desire to preserve his men and remaining ships in the face of what was already a lost war, not from crippling damage (It took over 30 bomb and torpedo strikes to put either of the YAMATO sisters under and even then, YAMATO only capsized after US aviators concentrated their torpedo strikes on her port side to flip her over...any other ship would have long been scrap metal)

I dunno, my own Hatsushimo hasn't even broken past level 40 yet. I was focusing more on Nachi so...

Might have to stop doing the Bauxite runs first if I want to break 100k Fuel for the event...

My fuel is in and out of cap. Both ammo and steel are in 250k, while bauxite is stuck at 150k. 480 buckets atm.

How the hell do you have that many resources, compared to buckets?

While I slowed down on the Orel Cruise, I did both Tokyo Express and exped 5 A LOT.

I was also just very unlucky with exped 2 and the month of December was hell for me (inventory and xmas).

Question once I've won the lottery I won't have to do it again, right? - So just to set the admiral account up.
Or do you have to do it every few months?

Once you won the lottery, it's for good. It'd be a pain in the ass otherwise.

Be sure to follow this twitter account: https://twitter.com/KanColle_STAFF

It'll give you a date and hour for the next lotteries. Or we can tell you in your visitor message board. Remember that the stated hours are for Japan, so you'll have to adjust according to your timezone.

Good luck, AC-Phoenix!
Remember if you want to know the time in Japan, just type "Time in Japan" into the google searchbar of your browser and it'll tell you, so you don't have to fiddle with doing the math yourself.

Still thinking if I should try at all.
my luck seems to be at an all time low ever since I tried making profit from a certain share :P.
Defiitely won't try the lottery before my exams are over... otherwise I'd just sit try getting better ships in Kancolle and not study at all

Edit:
That reminds me.

Is it pay to play or microtransactions?

Nah. lol Just add an additional clock to your system like this:

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

You can also check the realtime countdown on the himeuta forums, I used that myself when I signed up as an admiral.

It's free to play. You only get to pay IF you want to expand your ship dorms and repair docks. And ONLY that (just don't buy resources from the cash shop EVER).

You might not even need extra docks if you plan to go casual all-the-way. Dorm expansion otoh is unavoidable sooner or later, imho.

The only things I've spent on so far are 2 additional repair docks meaning 2k yen when I was around lv 50+ (I believe Klashikari pointed out the usefulness of them in an earlier post already) and dorm expansion. If it's anything to go by, it'll be a while before you buy any more space for girls and it's very optional. My friend is lv 99 like me and he's only recently bought 2 dorm expansions (2k yen) which give him an additional 20 space for ships. He has it tighter than me but he's doing very fine atm.

I bought the repair docks very early compared to the expansion docks (like 1 week after starting), and I never regretted it.
Unless you really are lucky in your progression with the collection, you won't need expansion dock before at least 1-2 months.

Meanwhile, Repair docks have an immediate benefit, especially early on: even though repairs are short in the beginning, they quickly increase to 30-45 minutes. Additional repair docks allow you to make full fleet rotation with low level fleets, which contribute a lot to the progression and grinding.
Over time, the bucket count actually stay in net gain instead of being impaired due to its usage. Even later on, repair docks usefulness is relevant, especially during events or rank grinding.

Of course, when you reach 4 digits count for the buckets, it might sound redundant, but buckets can really melt in a flash if you are unlucky during an event, so it never hurts to spare buckets as many as you can.
It still an investment that doesn't lose its usefulness over time as it is plainly permanent.

I've been playing the game for almost three weeks now. So far so good. I got Shoukaku and I'm still hoarding more girl ships to finish quests. Also balancing it by saving resources.

Aaaaand if you guys remembered by KancolleViewer problem, I got to fix it already and I got the game running.

Spoiler for the reason:
