It was nice to see Killua's dad drop in unexpectedly.

Spoiler for 280:

The manga is great, and yes, it's still running.(although the mangaka takes breaks now and then)

Finally caught up to 280 today. What a great manga, shame that the mangaka gets sick .

About Kurapica, he is a guy. The mangaka has stated this himself (or so my buddy claims, I never asked for proof) and the words that Kurapica uses in Japan are words that guys use. I myself thought Kurapica was a girl, but everything in the manga shows Kurapica as a guy.

My initial thoughts of the ant arc where pretty bad. I thought the ant King was a rip off of Freeza from DBZ. However the story progressed really well and the new characters introduced made for an interesting story.

Although Killua is my favourite I have a feeling he's going to be the final obstacle in Gon's way to reach Gin. As much as I want Killua to remain by Gon's side, he seems to be turning more and more towards the dark side of the force.

Just because 冨樫義博 is on hiatus, that doesn't necessary mean he is ill. =p

He seems to be turning away from it. But then, he started out as pretty dark. Even if he didn't want to kill people for money, he seemed to have no trouble doing it to relieve stress. He now has learnt the Power of Friendship, and made all kinds of sacrifice because of it, despite his education.

It is Gon who's becoming dark. He started out as unable to hold a grudge no matter what was done to him, and always ready to help people around him, but is now fighting a murderous rage that might doom an innocent.

While reading it seemed to me that there were many times it looked like Killua was on the edge and pointed towards the dark side. Even after the pin removal he still has the killer instinct. The one example I can think of is when he killed those two ants swiftly even though he was the one so adamant about sticking to the plan no matter what.

As for ill, that's what my buddy told me. I never asked him for proof, so I'm just relying on that. I may of been misinformed. However I think it makes sense, because what other reason would there be for a hiatus?

So you can make another 50 chapters of the story w/o worrying about deadlines

If that's true, I find it hard to fathom. When someone enjoys the work they do for a living I find it hard to believe they'll stop and take it easy. The reason most authors continue their work is because they enjoy it. Most of the times you can tell the difference between those who enjoy it and those who are in it for the money in terms of the quality produced.

However, unless the mangaka states something in an official sense this is all just speculation. If you search via Google you can find many different reasons for past hiatuses, which may of course be rumours.

The way I see it, when he goes dark, it's not so much that he's tempted by the dark side, but that he's relapsing. Habits of a lifetime are hard to break.

Actually, that was an example of succumbing to the power of friendship. He did it to save his disguised friend, who would otherwise had been exposed. The old Killua wouldn't have cared and would have put the mission first.

But then, the old Killua wouldn't have walked into this deathtrap to start with.

You can always try to fly to Japan and pester the author.

For a normal one, who knows. But, for this one, nope. He would rather die and leave an unfinished story than getting pestered about it. Knock the wood, so we may get to see an end to the story in our lifetime.

Probably the most likely reasons for the hiatus are as followed

1. Togashi is ill at the moment (though I don't think that is the reason)
2. Togashi is doing research for his manga
3. It's a marketing ploy
4. Togashi simply wants a vacation.
5. Togashi enjoys torturing his loyal readers

I stopped reading Hunter x Hunter since Vol. 22...or maybe even earlier than that. But after I heard that the King is actually changed a little because of a human girl...my interest in the story is back!!! >_< Can't wait for the next chapter! (The King and Netero have been gone for so long...aren't they suppose to be fighting?)

And I hope Komugi is okay. She's a very bright character and I love her (well, her look is kinda...=_=' Well, if I overlook those messy hair, thick eyebrows, and...you know...she's a really cute girl.)

When it comes to Togashi there is no fact, other than the patience you have.

Uh, yeah, I thought that was spelled out pretty clearly in the Sky Ring arc...
