Just so darn adorable. Loli power saves the day once again . Praise be the platelets!

Props as well to the red blood cell girl. At least she does feel bad for not being able to do more than run away. It's just that her role is different, but still has to be uncomfortable always having to leave the work to someone else.

And at least she does run away. It's better than staying to assuage her feelings and then giving WBC more work.

Thus the day was saved through the power of child labor.

The power of Loli compels you, vile bacteria!
That one yellow bacteria had a neat design though, very elegant.

Loli's and shota's. The platelets aren't all girls.

After they move the big box, there's a bit where a girl platelet is fixing the hat of a boy. There's another scene where two, apparently opposite-sexed platelets are holding hands on a walkway.

Yep, but people kept commenting on "look at all those cute loli's!" and just felt like pointing out that they're not all little girls (aka loli's).

They could be girls with short hair though.

And now I'm imagining that line delivered by the narrator for Powerpuff Girls episodes; the thought is vaguely amusing.

Also would not be surprised if a WBC or Killer T cell decides to channel Sgt. Hartmann.

I think Noto could pull it off myself. She can put a subtle edge on her voice that undercuts the nice, pleasant voice she offers as the narrator and in many other parts. She surprised me as the icy villian "Minnie C." in Alice to Zoroku, a far cry from her waifu roles. I can imagine Noto voicing some ultimate boss (a form of cancer?) out around episode eleven or twelve. We'll see.

But the narrator for PPG would be a good choice, too!

I love how they are both adorable and scary efficient at their jobs. They can just casually round up all those red blood cells, stick them together, and ignore their cries with a smile. Terrifyingly adorable .

I've wondered how the season will progress. (No hints, manga readers.) Will the cells face increasingly strong antagonists as the series goes on? Will they level up? Is this a slice-of-life show set in the bloodstream, or a show with a forward-going plot? Right now it's hard to tell.

You know thinking about this, the human body really is in constant danger isn't it? It's working very hard every minute to not die.

Also I cut off a bit of my skin the other day and it immediately made me think of this episode, it's funny. XD

I would quite happily watch a Platelets spin-off anime.

I do like the way the directors have created unique Platelets, they're not just a mass of undifferentiated characters. There's a shy one who wears their cap backwards, we see them carrying a ladder in the first episode, blushing and ducking their head as RBC and WBC go past them, pulling their cap down to hide their face (09:49). In episode 2 the same Platelet appears at about 16:24 in the front line of assault shock lolis^W troops (holding hands with the troop leader...). That attention to detail says to me that the people making this series are having fun with it.

It seems every type of cell has several recurring individuals. Even background characters.

I struggled to finish the first manga volume, so I was reluctant to try the show. I'm glad I did. Animation, color, voices, whatever it is that makes anime different from manga was the missing ingredient to my enjoyment. I doubt the show will ever reach high on my To Watch list but it'll be on the list.
