I am going to guess that Kotetsu will slowly decline to zero time for his powers, and at that point, he will evolve into a more powerful Next. This decline in time might have to do with his Next powers condensing and conserving energy, which will release and be used for his evolved form.

It is way too early for Kotetsu to just end. He will retire, but he will probably come back at some point in the near future.

I don't think we're suppose to assume the white characters are all American. Keith, I think, is clearly meant to be American (dress and attitude are what I'm cluing in on) but I thought I read in some of the early press stuff for the show that Karina Lyle was originally said to be from the UK, or some such, and just where Barnaby is originally from is a mystery (fans were claiming Australia but personally he comes off as upper class New England American/Native NYC'er to me but UK proper could also fit).

One other thing, this seems to be a alternative version of the world we are from. As such, it's not clear if the United States exists in the same form as it does in real life or just what is going on with the history of this world. Did the world diverge from ours 45 years back when the Next first appeared or were there differences before then? Also just when this show is set is a mystery because it's been hinting that it's 1978/79 since first cour. Some things don't match up (cell phones and much of the tech) but other things do (black and white laser disks of Mr Legend story?!) and some of the tech is actually beyond where we are at now in 2011. So I don't think it safe to assume things are clear cut in the show. One other thing - the show seems to be catering to a world audience and making everyone American isn't really a good move. It could be that Nathan is French and either Karina or Barnaby are originally from the U.K., Canada, Australia/NZ or a Northern European country or maybe not. My guess here is that the show is trying to cater to the world Anime market at those countries are also part of the mix and have a large amount of lighter skinned people living in them.

Your last point is one I keep feeling as well. I don't think Kotetsu time as a Hero is going to end just yet. While I'm not sure how they'll do this, I do think there are other options here to Kotetsu retiring and/or time jumps. The main plot issue that needs resolved is Kotetsu and Kaede becoming closer and spending more time together and there is at least one simple way of doing this that the second opening is hinting at. What we see there could be a red hearing or maybe it means something truly connected to the plot (then again, we've never really seen the Bike/side car a lot and now the OP is showing two motorcycles, so following the OP for clues has some issues )

I think Barnaby has to be from the Stern Build area, we're pretty sure that his parents were killed by Jake (who seems to have been a local villain), Maverick seems to have been running Apollon for a while and we saw one of the other researchers from the robot lab also in the city, I thin it would just be too strange if he was from another city and yet has so many connections to SB. Then again, I just assume that characters are from the area a story takes place in unless told otherwise, it was only after that ANN interview that I realized some of the characters (besides Pao Lin) might be from outside the city.

Her power is 1000x. She can unconsciously jump on a place so fast it looks and feels for her as if shes standing on the air. Her grandsons power will be 100.000x and he will be able to travell back and forth in time, as he would be faster then light.

What I want to know is who Kaede was in contact with that had magnetism as a power? She's bound to end up on someone's "do want" list. I really hope Kotetsu realizes the possible danger this power could put her in. Maybe she needs to come live with him instead?

Loved how Kotetsu was able to keep things in perspective while Barnaby had the expected downward spiral. Though I cringed at his "you're crazy" comment when Barnaby was questioning his old maid. Bad choice of words, man.

Edit: Something else just occurred to me. Since the uncle was the one who told Kaede what her real power was; could it be possible that he's the one with the magnetism? Could be one reason he chose to live in the rural area if he's sensitive to all the metal around him.

Excellent episode. Can't wait for next week.

Well, quite personally it ain`t near Evangelion, Gundam, Ranma, DragonBall, and several other legendary animes.....but you got to admit that it has a very good shot of being the anime of the year, and one of the best ones in the last 2-3 years. But that is just my own humble opinion.

Well a lot of fan theories got confirmed in this episode, like that Jake wasn't the killer, Bunny's memories have been altered (actually, a remember another theory about that was that the sleeping tanks Mr. Saito created put false memories in him, does anyone remember if he remembered Jake's face before or after the first time those were used?), Jake and Kriem were only a small part of Oroborus and Kaeda doesn't actually have the Hundred Power. Speaking of her power, I wonder if she's questioned how she got Hundred Power powers in the first place and I like the theory about the uncle and the magnetism, I was giggling pretty hard at the two of them trying to pull the kitchen pots off of her. And Kriem has a serious case of Stockholm Syndrom there, guess this confirms that she's dead at least.

What a sad excuse for a father he is. It's not bad enough that he choose his life of a "hero" over raising his own daughter over all these years, but now when he seems to have finally realized how messed up his priorities have been for the last several years, he can't get himself to pull the trigger on doing anything about it. What scum. Poor girl would have been better off put up for adoption.
