Turn-offs?
Yesterday, I was thinking of all the things that turn me off, and then I started wondering what other people's turn-offs are (and if they are as extreme as mine). So please share with us what turns you off from the opposite sex (or the same, or your animal lover). Rank them in order of severity, and provide an explanation if necessary
***** Biggest Turn-offs ***** Smoking/Drugs - (I won't even go near a girl who smokes) Religious radicals - (the ones who force their beliefs on you because they feel its the truth) Stupidity - (I don't care to date anyone whom I can't have an intelligent conversation with) Close-mindedness - (Kind of like religious radicals, but more general. Having an opinion is fine but not listening or trying to understand others is not) Drinking - (I'm ok if she drinks casually, but girls who drink to get drunk and/or naked are repulsive to me) Cell phones - (Excessive use of. If she talks on her cell on the bus, doing laundry, at dinner, it disgusts me) Lack of kindness - (Girls who constantly look pissed. If you smile at her warmly and she doesn't smile back, she's X'ed) Kitties - (She must like kitties. I like kitties. Do you like kitties? I think kitties are wonderful!) ***** Smallest Turn-offs ***** Hmm, I'm sure I have more but they elude me at the moment. I guess I will just edit them in when they come to mind ********** EDITS ********** Unconsiderate girls - (How could I forget this one! I hate people that do things that are inconsiderate of other people. Like throwing garbage on the floor rather than in the trash, not flushing the toilet, HOGGING THE GOD DAMN SINK IN THE MORNING!!! etc.) Piercings - (I'm ok with anything on the ears. But I particularly hate belly button, tongue, and....err genital piercings. Nose and eyebrow I'm ok with, but still don't like them. When I'm carressing a girl I want to feel her skin not some lump of metal.) Tatoos - (The bigger they are the more they turn me off. What can I say, I just don't like them). ************************* Last edited by Roots; 2004-03-08 at 03:51. |

well, recently smoking was a big turn off for me, until i kissed a girl who smoked and i couldnt taste shit (i thought it would taste all smokey) didnt stop her stinking like smoke though, so it's still a turn off, just less of one
and close mindedness too |

Physical turn offs:
-Bad breath: 'nuff said.. but it's not that important since it's physical only. -Bad smell: I know this can seem sort of superficial.. But it's a turn-off. ^^;; I don't really care about how a person looks. I don't care if a guy is overweight or if he has a major "flaw". I don't expect a guy to look like a "pretty boy" either. And I don't care how my boyfriend dresses. Mental turn offs: -Close minded-ness -Elitists or people who think they're so smart -Someone who couldn't take care of me: I know this sounds selfish. And I'm not saying I want my boyfriend to treat me like a princess while i do nothing at all. But I sort of need a guy to be like my big brother. I do a lot of other things like giving presents and being nice, but the guy has to protect me... ^^;; I hope you guys can understand this. -People who lecture and try to force their beliefs: Okay.. If the person is a bit like that, it doesn't bother me. But I've known some guys who constantly lectured... That's annoying.. -People who try to change me: My boyfriend never tried to change me.. Which is a part of why I love him I guess... ^^;; There's other things but the main ones are here. Last edited by Kurara; 2004-03-06 at 22:02. |

hummm... Roots said it pretty nicely with that list but about a few things-
Close-Mindedness... Some people are stubborn, you can't really change them. If you believe that someone is close minded I find that sometimes it was I that was trying to put my views on people (so it's a double edged opinion). Sense of Humor- A sensitive girl is cute imo but some girls just take everything too seriously and can't take a joke. A humorless love life is a dead love life. Laugh at yourself, and laugh with others... you'll live longer . Jealousy- A little bit of jealousy is cute and it's nice to know that she cares but if she gets jealous at say... you going out for a guy's night out thing... that could be a problem. I value my freedom greatly and I will not stand for people that want to control me. Honesty/Loyalty- We all lie here and there but some people lie more often than they tell the truth. And Loyalty is self-explanatory I believe. Smoking/Drinking doesn't bother me as much though.. although I don't like that taste when you kiss a smoker(err... brings back some bad memories)... if I care for her enough, I'll convince her to stop evantually =P. It's hard to put words to these personality values... "A person is exactly the way they are except when they're not." -Dr.B heed those words, they hold wisdom. p.s- Don't tell anyone I posted on-topic... could ruin my reputation |

I don't know if I have an ideal.. But I do have preferences, I admit.. And I feel kind of ashamed of it. But I wouldn't stop myself to those preferences. If my boyfriend changed, I'd still love him. I wonder, though. |

Um, let's see.
Smokers: It's just very very unattractive. Uptightness: I like people who don't freak out at the drop of a hat and don't randomly bitch out people because something is wrong in their lives. Like Roots said, a girl who constantly has an angry, bitchy expression is definitely a turn-off, especially since I think there are few things better then a genuine smile from a pretty girl. Drama Queens: You know what I'm talking about. I don't need a woman who constantly analyzes everything I do, counts and tallies how many times I say "I love you" and remembers the last time, I've said it. And then she makes a deal out of how I've acted differently lately, and basically turns the fact that I stepped in dog turd this morning and am having a bad day into an epic discussion of love, life, and heartbreak. Dishonesty For better or worse, I'm very straight forward and say right out how I feel. So, I expect the same. Don't pussy-foot around stuff and if you don't want to do something, don't make up excuses like, "oh, I'm tired" or something. I'm a big boy, I can handle it the truth. I think that's all I give for my turn-offs this installment, I'll add more if I think of some. *predicts someone will now create a "turnons" thread. |

I only have two turn-offs, and they are being mean to others (even if "others" doesn't include me), and being obnoxious. Everything else I have learned to stand.
I don't think it would be polite for me to list my physical turn-offs.

On second thought, maybe I shouldn't have listed mine.. <<;;; For some reason, I thought everyone was going to make big lists of physical turn-offs. Maybe I'll just erase one. |

I know a girl whos somehow cute. Before I know her, I really wanted to know her. But after we became friends, I discovered that she keeps Whining and that disgusts me.
A girl who tries to be the leader disgusts me as well. I dont like girls who wants to do whatever she wants. She has to think about my opinion too. Another girl that I know dont talk. I mean when we are together, all she do is answering but she never open a conversation or ask me any questions. In other words, I like sociable girls. Like many people mentioned. I don't like to be with somkers. I hate the smell of smoke. So I can't stay near the the smoker girl for long. A girl who says a lot of bad words. A few or from tiem to time its ok. but not in each sentance she says (I know some1 whos like that but its a boy not a girl) A girl who has no respect with the others (espically saying bad things about my friends) Last edited by ShadowX114; 2004-03-06 at 22:36. |

i agree w/ most of u guyz and i'm surprised nobody mentioned when girls try to show off way too much cleavage -_-' like when girls bend over and then thier ass crack is showing or thier thong -_-'
that really annoys me.....also when fat girls wear tight clothes........why do they do that? it might be wrong for me to think that they cant show off thier body but it annoys me and i'm sorry........ i also hate it when girls are too dramatic(like someone pointed out) and girls who are too physical -_-' like this one girl who always hit me stab me and punch me but shes cool |
