Ranma 1/2 manga

Can someone give me an idea of where to start collecting this series? I have (will shortly, as soon as the Ramna Forever box set is delivered by the big brown truck) all of the available anime. I'd like to continue the story, but I don't feel a need to read story I've already seen.

Unless there are significant story arcs missing from the anime series of course.

I did pick up vol 1 for grins - and it's good - but I've seen it before.

Any suggestions?

Manga is the real story. That's why I read it first than watch the anime because they usually alter it.

My friends have volumes 1-21, so I've read those. In my opinion, volume 1 was good, but the jokes start getting a bit old later on.
But the volume to get is volume 7- it's hysterical. Whether or not they had it in the anime, the seducing kuno scene is worth every penny spent for that manga.

i got 1-16 but i did not watch the anime, everthing i tell my friend (who just watched it on tv), he already knows. i think it s quiet close to the anime. the version i ve (ends with 23 or sth like that; english) does not ve a marriage at the end. german version (me=german, but translation sux as hell) has over 40 volumes, what about the original??
i think u should read sth else, although it s a classic, if u ve watched ithe anime, it has no sence i think.

well...

Spoiler:

And www.viz.com lists volume 24 as the latest one they have published. Don't know if that's the end of it though.

And I have vols 1&2. The anime follows the manga pretty closely alright.

IIRC, there are all together 38 volumes in the original manga.
