Just to be clear Kuromitsu wasn't entirely like that in the manga, the whole hey ket's keep this game of you chasing me forever wasn't in the the manga. She wanted to be with him but there were reasons that kept them seperated till they reunited at the end and it sorta leaves you hanging on how I'll turned out.

Then there's also Rai who's head was cut off but she seems to be still alive like Kuro was since she's a vampire now, Kuro seem to have grown fond of her and was even carying her head while escaping with Kuromitsu. So there's still a potential love triangle there.

Though the anime ended in a weird way where the cycle starts again...I take it now at the start of the loop Kuro is taken back to a thousands years ago to relive what he went through?

That's very interesting. I prefered Rai in the anime over kuromitsu myself.

In the manga, it ended by the two Kuro carrying Rai head, forcing the way through enemies who seek for immortality. And if i don't remember wrong, Kuro body and memory became stable in the end (by using Kuon's immortal body?).

White king, the young girl and salamander also had a talk at the end, about continue chasing Kuromitsu forever.

OMG! This anime sucked so bad. All enemies besides Benkei were not evil but crazy. They did not made sense at all. Rain of blood? Benkei fighting and then runs away like that. Oh man... makes no sense. The last mins after Kuro has a new body didn't make sense at all.

The story is so broken, the ending implied to me that the whole journey has been "restarted (just a dream)", but some people say it is another "round"... but that doesnt explain how all the people that died are now back alive.

So does kuro continue from where he left off or did he just start over??? (if he continued from where he left off how the hell does that explain the people he killed being alive again)...

It's a continuation. Kuro now has some control over his memory after changing his last body.

And to why some characters are still alive at the end, i suggest you read the manga for clearer explanation. The anime is very hard to follow.

I understand that Kuro is destined to relive the entire cycle with him chasing Kuromitsu, but what was the deal with the forest being within the ruined city in the last scene??

I watched this series over the weekend. Usually I stop when it gets frustrating, but the beginning was really good/promising and so I put all my hope into this but the end was just disappointing to me with the synapse(where's the point in hunting a ghost, just to get beheaded when you find her..) and nearly everyone going crazy/becoming a psychopath.. I really just wanted it to end quickly after they entered the imperial army's fortress.

Well, my favourite scene is probably the beggar and his bag, that could even be worth watching this, lol.

I think that was put there to represent the fact that it's endless, and when something is endless, all possibility is open yet it will always end the same.

A symbolic ending if you will.

Overall, I liked the series.

i think you missed the point of why they replayed the scene shown in the first episode. The director wasn't trying to say that life is a series of circular moments, but rather that backstories are an extremely powerful thing. In the beginning when we watched Kuro almost be killed by a simple red guard footmen but was saved by Benkei because he was being absent-minded; this dream that Kuro briefly speaks of is actually a giant event filled with devastation, death, love, joy, consciousness, etc. The writers of the anime are really trying to teach their audience how powerful a single thought can be. That's how I interpreted the ending at least.

The only confusing thing I think would be the similarities of the characters in the series in that sequence at the end (that and the technology). But they were clearly different scenes up until the last one. In which case an overview of that scenery showed that too was also different. As the landscape is vastly different from what was shown in episode 1 (from what I recall at least). So it likely wasn't a "dream", just him having somewhat of a memory jump start and noticing the similarity himself. He himself stated "I feel that this has happened before."

there is an example of circular happenings though which this user explained: since Kuromitsu's plans to make Kuro a perfect non decaying body failed (because of Hasegawa's ploys) the cycle of finding Kuro a body every 100 years continues.

Well, I just watched this anime and it was incredible. The action, sound, everything. The story was crazy.. I was in awe at the end when I pieced it all together.

I think this is one of the biggest "WTF!?" series I've ever seen.

And Rai FTW!

I found it less wtf than the manga. Still quite a mindtrip.

Some badass fight scenes in it. And the concepts of how far some people will go for their 'love' were fascinating. I might've just been enchanted by some of the artwork in it.

Oh and the ED, one of the most emotionally beautiful songs I've heard.
