This episode was shockingly good.
I'm trying to remember the last time an anime's first episode was this enjoyable to me and the last I can think of is Trigun. And poor Shino at the end as he finally realises what he's let himself in for by becoming an academy instructor. Boruto is Naruto x 10 when it comes to messing with academy instructors. Between fantastic animation for the free running beginning to laugh out loud moments with Boruto's academy entrance and getting pawned by Konohamaru. |

This episode was pretty enjoyable I have to say, but I have a lot of interrogations about this anime. Will it follow the Boruto manga, meaning we won't get canon material in the anime for years (the manga barely started getting into new material itself) or will it be a Dragon Ball Super situation where Kishimoto gives a rough outline of the story and each medium will fill in the blank?
I also wonder if they're going to cover the movie's story once again, with the changes made in the manga this time. There's a particular plot point absent from the movie that needs to be introduced in the anime, but I suppose they could do so via a flashback of sort. Anyway, good animation and character design faithful to Kishimoto's, which is a plus compared to the manga (no afro Konohamaru, phew). I was a bit surprised Boruto's byakugan is natural, with the scar on his eye in the flashforward and the fact his other eye was normal, I had assumed it was an implant like Kakashi's sharingan.

Hinata is a lonely housewife...so nice...visuals could've been better but her voice is better than ever.
Naruto: "Don't talk about my wife like that, dattebyo!" Anyway, decent story. Resolved a bit too neatly, but very characterful. Didn't expect Boruto to have Byakugan, hadn't heard anything about that before. But Boruto moving on from his father's issues should save this from the problems of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' where they were still going over the same old Voldemorty ground. |

Hey I have a question and I know you all donīt know the answer to that question but I did watch today the first Boruto episode I didnīt read the manga because I didnīt like the art style but do you all think Naruto is really dead or do you all think Kishimotos assitant who is drawing the manga (donīt know his name) is trolling us with narutos dead. I mean it would be really sad that after all what he worked for that some dude comes and kills him and it sounds really unlogical that some can even kill him

Anyways, the first episode was far better that I could have hope for. It completely surpassed the manga. |

I have to say Baruto's story might have better cohesion that Naruto's. There are no immediate threats or goals like Naruto trying to become Hokage. Just some good ol' daily ninja fun with an ominous looming threat.
I'm a little confused as to who to credit. Does Kishimoto have anything to do with this new series? I know he's supervising, but it's being written by Ukyō Kodachi who's only other involvement in the franchise was the Boruto movie. It feels weird that the reins of the franchise have been handed over to a relative stranger rather than its original creator. Not that I'm complaining. So far the direction has been fantastic. Quote:
It's weird Boruto's eye didn't manifest during the movie. I'm guessing it's some sort of mutation from crossing Hagoromo and Hamura's bloodlines.

Yeah Boruto you are going to walk your own path....in a show that literally has your father's name in the title . Although I still say shame on Naruto and Hinata with that name. I mean...you change two letters from Naruto's name and that's it?
Been a while since I saw anything Naruto related (the filler just murdered me at a point), but was it always so tech based? This feels like the Legend of Korra with even less of a time skip. Suddenly you go from low-tech world to having LCD monitors, rail systems, and other modern technology.
