Actually, that was my first plan

They basically start canceling each other's attacks out for a while before Ichika loses his stamina.

A good writer can get away with anything including a Mary Sue (A well-written Mary Sue isn't Mary Sue!)

A way to do this:
The character may appear like a Wuss because he is introverted, however, he is more sensitive to the girl's feeling, a point which the girl eventually came to like about him.

To the point where he's basically getting goomba stomped the entire fight? Geez, Ichika's freaking chivalry makes the fighting so annoying. I dunno if he'd fight her using things like headbutts or foot stomps without being OOC.

@ Treme - I meant wuss in the sense that he gets the tar kicked out of him whenever he fights. Irish could be considered a wuss in this sense.

Making it a lot flirty one, would be better for her character.

Actually, making Ichika give up quickly would be no thrill, try some revealing Ehm, I don't wanna say it

Or would be cool if you all add blackmailing

What's wrong with that? Wuss just attract a different group of girls with special interest....

Being male doesn't really means you must be good at fighting though....

Mind you the first and second point is reasonable, the Male protagonist is supposed to be Audience Surrogate.

The third case is tricky, but not that impossible either.

Ichika is a blend of second and third.

Note: Going to hospital, not logging in for hours.

@ Senpai - Not all harem protags have to be badasses. For example: Minato from Sekirei gets no flack for this since his harem is a bunch of superpowered aliens. However, protags like Ichika get flak since he uses the same tech as everybody else (In fact, he uses better tech than everybody else) yet he's the 2nd weakest in the entire team.

Side note - I personally have no problem with weakee male protags. Irosh is the weakest and youngest male protag in the story.

@ Treme - The problem that Ichika has is that, other than his one hit kill sword and gender, he's got nothing going for him.

During that time, Inami and Tsurugi are already in the ISA... but only Cecilia, Maya and Chifuyu knows about their presence.
