Basically, every girl stands for something different; there is the "childhood friend", the "girlfriend", but there is also the "ex girlfriend" and the "fiancee"... Technically there is a travesti thrown into the mix as well Also, all heroines are themed as seasons (Natsukawa has Natsu = summer, Harusaki has Haru from spring, thus it's obvious that it was all planned from the start )

So basically, "it looks like an harem", but there aren't silly evident harem antics even though all of the girls like him. Also there is the subtext that the true fight is actually between the titular kanojo & osananajimi and the other girls are just there to make things more interesting.

You can preview the ED song at 19:40. Really liking it (will probably like it even more with the ED animation along with it).

I believe there was an event a few day(s) prior that pre-aired episode 1. Reactions seem pretty positive (but I've never seen a pre-air event with negative feedback ). BD volume 1 has only 1 episode (and is packaged with the OP as bonus) priced at ￥4,200/3,150/2,150, so I guess we can expect 13 episodes (highly doubt we'll get a miracle 1+8x3 series).

I believe I have read a little bit of the novel before, but it's been so long that I've pretty much forgotten everything. Still don't know why I'm so excited for this. Maybe it's the staff, maybe it's the VAs, or maybe it's cause 2ch makes funny Hyouge Mono edits out of it). Usually, I am only :really excited: for anime with either high value production (with awesome storyboard like Smile Precure 23/43 or Hyouka), intriguing story (Shinsekai, Zetsuen etc.), or plethora of idiosyncratic characters (Horizon, Durarara/Baccano); I don't really see any of those elements in Oreshura. There are so many great series coming out next year, but so far none has topped my anticipation for this title. Either way, I expect this to be just an epic fun series. 1st episode will air next Saturday on Jan 5th.

A-1 please don't disappoint (if nothing else at least give us some awesome Gununu faces)!!!

Well, my 2 cents:
The main pairing is interesting, their value system, their views, and most of all their manzai banter.
The humor and antics in the series is A grade and yet it hardly revolves around ecchi subjects.
We get a few JoJo mentions since the author is such a hardcore fan.
Masuzu's venomous tongue FTW.
Besides Shuraba, the story revolves around another core theme of Ji-En-Otsu, which is extremely well integrated into the story in many areas, even the romance between the main pairing. The very splendid execution of Ji-En-Otsu (in every single volume) itself gives the story a very coherent feel.

I hope you're using the term liberally, because it would be unfortunate to have a shuraba without making all the girls equally likable (or at least there should be attempts to equalize everyone's popularity; all girls best girls!!!).

I dug around a little this morning and found summaries of two interviews with the director (One, Two). I mean everyone should already be satisfied with the VAs, but seeing that he promised talented animators for this boosts my expectation even more. The original scenario he talked about hopefully won't deviate too much from the source in case of potential season 2.

After all, this particular time slot has been pretty much beasting sales for the past few seasons.

Episode wise SAO had 25, Fate had 25, Nisemonogatari had 10, and Uta Prince had 13.

Hopefully I won't sound like some silly fanboy, but I believe the commercial success of this anime will be directly proportional to how much focus Masuzu gets (important shit like good production values such as music, consistent designs, voice acting and animation aside).
They can even increase a bit the Jojo references due to the anime currently airing and the massive popularity it has - and yet again, that is mostly Masuzu territory.

I played a part of the game, but I only win Masuzu and Hime's hearts despite planning to win Chiwa's heart from the beginning, but I mostly poorly translate Japanese quotes from the game. I will look forward to watch the anime anyways for JoJo's references.
