The thing is since it's being bundled with the manga the only way to legally obtain this episode is to buy the manga volume, which means you're a manga fan and hence know the character.

It's like the upcoming Kure-nai OVA being bundled with the manga, it's got manga/light novel designs for a reason.. it's aimed at those fans, not the anime series.

I'm not really digging the subtext that anime fans are "lesser" fans from that post. And even then, the episode was originally going to be on the DVD and is labeled as "episode 14", not to mention its ending cover theme was released months ago. It's just as much for the anime fans as everyone else.

It's hardly an uncommon practice. I can name at least three more examples (Limeiro Senkitan OVA, All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Shinkenger vs. Go-onger) off the top of my head. Granted, the last two are toku, but the point stands.

If you go to the website and go to DVD you can see screenshots of the the pool episode and still no Astraea there.

Astraea actually has a pretty cute personality. Huge breasts are actually a turn off for me but I like her for the reason previously mentioned.
