Okay everyone, someone has a sprite rip and poking through it has been... interesting to say the least. The following are vague conclusions drawn from art. Do not assume these are absolutely correct. And it goes without saying, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Spoiler for No, seriously, WARNING:

Old Characters, New Art

The following characters have new sprites:

• Beatrice (BEA/3/) is the "casual" or "Original Beatrice" set. She has the same 70+ portraits Beato has. Hair-up only I believe.
• Shannon has two new portraits with "dead" eyes.
• The Stakes appear in Shannon-style maid outfits (RG*/2/).

Those are it, I believe. Battler, Bern, anyone else, nada new.

New Characters

The following characters are new:

• "Young Kinzo" (KI2). Looks like Battler with white hair and khaki outfit.
• Claire (CUR), the "Mint-Flavored Beatrice." Shares portrait expressions with Beato exactly.
• Willard Wright (WIL). Van Dine, basically. Suppositions that the blue coat guy was Van Dine are Wright on. He's addressed as "Will." Has about a dozen portraits.
• Leon/Lion/Rion Ushiromiya (RIO). Alleged to be the Man From 19 Years Ago. Has about 17 portraits.

Again, that's all.

New Backgrounds

The chapel has dozens of new backgrounds. Kuwadorian has more interior shots. There are a number of exterior shots of "sunny" Rokkenjima. This may have something to do with title cards for the years of 1980 through 1986 and one set in Oct. 5, 1985.

The "theater" background set exists.

Intriguing Effects Etc.

Lotsa things.

• A shot of dozens of cats' eyes. Bernkastel's punishment for someone... or her own?
• Will appears to get his own weapon.
• There are now white sword strikes.
• There are several new "attack" effects, including one labeled "shotgun."

Taiwan/Qilian Theory is directly addressed. I don't know if it's true, but they flat-out go through it. The Taiwan part, Qilian, QUADRILLION, LORDU, all of it.

THE CULPRIT

Kyrie is advanced as the mastermind with help from a reluctant Rudolf and a delusional Shannon. This may just be Bernkastel's conclusion, don't take it as canon just yet.

How amusing. It seems when there is a VN, regardless how many people they are on it or how professional they are, they ought to be a fresh and new all the time regarding a certain content.

I dunno about you, but so far, for an amateur who obviously doesn't have any specific innate talent for drawing (for the lack of better words), Ryukishi made more than 50 unique characters (not counting any -alternative- versions etc), with each of them more than 5 expressions (with rare exceptions like Nanjo and the 1998 sub characters).

Lazy? I think Ryukishi could have used recycled sprites even sooner than this. The fact he only started doing that in Episode 7 is nothing to blame for.
But of course, it seems making character sprites is an "easy job" heh. Especially for a doujin game of this magnitude huh.

Funnily enough, when we get eroge with barely 10 poses maximum per "main heroine" (factoring maximum 5 heroines), it seems there is no reaction at all.

All I can say is, I'm so happy about Kyrie-culprit, I just hope it STAYS true to the end, I've tried looking at things from different angles and always arrive at Kyrie. I realize now I've never posted them, but I have lists and theories typed up, maybe I'll get around to that later.

Oh, and Kinzo sprite is ridiculous.

Looking forward to getting my copy soon to actually read it XD spoilers are great and all, but it's hard not to be skeptical.

Kanon and Leon seem to show up at the same time around each other. That doesn't mean anything from a Shkanon standpoint, of course... nobody said Leon was Shkanon.

I wouldn't say you can tell either way. Battler doesn't seem to have much screen presence, and Will actually appears to be the main character (an entirely fantasy detective? I dunno for sure). Will sees Kanon, and Will sees Shannon, but that's about as useful as it was when Battler was detective.

He seems to be hanging out on Rokkenjima and takes trips to the chapel to "meta" the chapel up and talk to Bern. He's also easily flustered, not just by Bern, but by everyone.

Also Leon's... a little into him.
