Realistic scenario: probably going to be rushed just like any other game adaption

still could be interesting

Last thing to expect is gyakuten saiban anime. I wonder if they are going to just do the first game or original. Hopefully they adapt 3 of the games.

All I'm curious about is how much they'll actually be adapting. If it's one cour it'll probably only be the first game, but if they go two cour they could probably adapt the entire original trilogy decently enough.

Also with me being used to all the localization changes such as it being set in Los Angeles, it'll be a little weird to see the Japanese original stuff while watching this.

Still I wonder if they are working on this along with a new sequel.

Finally.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG overdue.

I'll be elated if they manage to adapt all of the first trilogy.

Quote the opposite for me, I've never played it in English so I can't follow AA discussion on English boards. I have no clue on who's who.

Took them long enough. Hopefully they won't adapt all games third case... for some reason, they are always the worst
Still, I don't expect more than the first game being adapted, and I don't mind since it is where we have the big focus on Naruhodo and Mitsurugi.

Well Naruhodo is named "Phoenix Wright" in the English version, though I imagine even the Japanese fans are at least aware of that since he's the main character.

The main prosecutor and Phoenix's rival is named "Miles Edgeworth" and Phoenix's spirit medium partner is named "Maya Fey", though something tells me her name was one of the few that didn't change from the original.

Nope. Her name was changed as well. In Japanese version she is Mayoi Ayasato

Anyway, if anyone wants to hear how the characters will sound:

Actually, no, her name is completely different: Ayasato Mayoi. By the way, she originally is fond of ramen, not burgers but well, "too japanese" for the localization team I guess.

Well color me surprise.
I wonder if they will only change the names when it's simulcast and dubbed in the US?

This is neat news and all, but..... as was already mentioned, I also can't help but shake the feeling that the anime will rush the crap out of the anime if it's indeed adapting the game's storylines. I mean, I still haven't forgotten how the anime for Danganronpa (which shares many similarities with GS/AA, albeit with a simultaneously darker and goofier tone) got rushed to high heaven. So yeah, I'm not really worried about localization changes so much as I am about pacing....

That reminds me: Wasn't that noodle guy from Apollo Justice/GS4 the owner of the ramen stand that Maya frequented in the original version? Unfortunately, my memory eludes me at the moment.

I don't mind either way what names the subs are going to use.

I just hope the most important thing of all will be done right: the OST.

YouTube
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

Of course it can have a "proper remix", but I don't like if composers change the music so much that it gives completely different vibes from the original, so let's hope that they keep that in mind.

Two cour for the first three games? That could be difficult, but I can see how they could combine some of plots from each game.

Well, I am excited for this.

UHUH! Excelent news! I always thought that the Ace Attorney games would work particularly well if given a proper adaptation so let's hope this is it.

Totally agree, the usage of sound track in the original Gyakuten Saiban games for immersion were some of the most impressive I've ever seen in video game history.

The ramp up, the building of tension, the score really manipulates your emotion like no other.
If the anime can recreate even fraction of that feel, it'll be amazing.
