Shirakome put up a post on his shousetsuka blog about the recent lack of updates. Apparently he's been in bad health lately, so he can't focus on writing. He's going to try to start posting again in 2-3 weeks.

Zero LN v06 got delayed to October 2021 now.
Could it be because of Author's recent health issue?

That's possible, or Overlap decided to push the release again to align it with something else they have planned for October. Season 1 is also set to re-air in the fall, so maybe they're planning to run some more advertisement for season 2 before the end of the year.

Initially i thought that it was the Avatar of the World Tree Branch of Tortus (Ua Alto), but then i remember she was suppose to have black hair.

Well, that chick does seem to have some features similar to Miledi, so maybe she is related to her? (a blood-relative?)

The author said he was going to be busy working on the novel again this week too. Hmm. It's odd that it would be delayed yet again considering that it was supposed to come out months ago. Well, my money is still on a planned simultaneous release with volume 12 in December.

I was digging the new opening theme. It's still only showing volume 5-6 stuff, so there's no telling how much the season is actually planning to cover yet.

Well, its also odd that, the day they released the "delay notice" of Zero LN v06 (in the morning), they also suddenly released the new Trailer for the Season 2 (in the night) as well.

Is it possible, that maybe they would be making a single Season Anime adaptation of "Zero"? (which would act as a bridge between Season 2 and Season 3 of Main Story Anime), which is why they are ended the LN close to the start of the new Season, so that they could announce it around the same time?

Yesterday was also when season 1 began its rebroadcast, so I'm guessing the new preview aired with it. I'd be open to an anime for Zero, especially given the vocal talent they already cast for Oscar and Miledi. It'd be kind of a shame to waste them on only a few minutes of air time in the main story.

At the very least, this season will also cover Nize's, Meiru's, and Laus's labyrinths, and with their introduction they would have enough main cast already to adapt the first 2 volumes of Zero. Another thing that stood out to me in the preview was the quick shot of Myuu tearing up while standing on what looked like might be the deck of Hajime's submarine. The only scenes I can think of in volume 5 that the image may correspond to is either the group's departure to go to Melusine or their goodbye at the end of the book, but the perspective seems wrong since there's nothing but ocean behind Myuu. The other thought that comes to mind is that if this season does only cover the material from LNs 5-6, then maybe they'll spend a couple of episodes adapting the miraculous encounter short story to pad the run time and give the Liberators some more screen presence.

The synopsis doesn’t give much away, but so far it looks like they’re going to try to cram the rest of the main story into one volume.

J-Novel will probably prioritize Zero volume 6 since it’s coming out first. Plus, it usually takes a bit to update their license when a new volume comes out, so they won’t start volume 12 right away.

Hightly unlikely. Until now j-novel has never released simultaneously parts of both versions, they always do the man story before zero, add to that that zero's volume is the final onde of the series and that j-novel uses to leave a longer gap between second-last and last volumes. I seriously doubt they will release a part of zero before publishing all the parts of the main story's book or even its e-book.
