@Eratas: Define happy ending, from his perspective or ours? I was thinking having him die in the fight against Silver Gospel, since only two members of the cast actually know what he did.... Everybody else got their memories erased against Kenneth's fight against the Three
EDIT: Well except for Chifuyu and Maya, they knew as well, being members of STARIS

@Eratas: Depends on how long I wish to stretch the story to the readers
@Zero: Exactly... That's why she's hostile to Kenneth as well, he was the one that caused the Incident a year ago...

@Eratas: Pretty much what I was thinking of, considering there are like.... uuuhhh lets see... another Original Character, Natasha Fairs, Cecilia Alcott, Charlotte Dunois and of course the Three that know exactly what happened with Kenneth's mind set during that time period.
EDIT: Ok scratch that Cecilia and Charlotte know... they know sort of.

<Shrugs> Simple enough. What part of STARIS "Daughter of the Three" seems not terrifying? Considering that the Three easily defeated Kenneth without their special abilties besides cloaking....

Nope, I don't know "Big three" or whatever, of course I'm not terrified.
 On a more serious note, it's okay to have different characterization, just ensure your reader know the reason of why. Likable characters are likable character unless noted.

"It's me, Ichika! I'm Chifuyu, your older sister!" "...lies." "...huh?" "You are not Chifuyu-nee! Pick a better lie next time!" The large sword in hand, the young man who wore the face of her brother raised the blade up high, his eyes blazing with true intent to end her right there... A perfect Jigan stance... as expected of him... If not for the red fury of Aka-Tsubaki appearing between the two, the legend of Orimura Chifuyu would have ended right there. The clash of energies between the two caused everything within 20 meters to turn white... "Chifuyu-san, we're leaving!" No! Not when she's this close! Not when he's right before her very eyes! "Chifuyu-san! Your IS can't take any more damage! Please!" "Let go of me, Shinamono," she snarled, barely managing to force the non-responsive IS to stand with her own power. "Let me go! Ichika is-! Ichika is-!!!" "Ichika isn't yours~" came the sickening voice as Silent Zepher stood before them. "He belongs to us now. He belongs to me." "Screw you, bitch!" Houki never felt such a raw, unrelenting killing aura before but now, she felt two of them as Chifuyu and the still masked pilot stared each other down, neither one willing to give in. "Come on, M," Raven put his hand on the girl's shoulder. "We're done here." *PAH!* The young man recoiled from the strike with the gauntlet from M, who looked positively enraged. "...eh? And who are you to give me orders? Much less touch me? HUH!?" The young man called Raven didn't even rub his cheek, but stared back. "We should leave. Their reinforcements are en route." "Do I look like I CARE!?" "*You better care, M. This is an order from me. Now, fall back with Raven." "Tch! My prey is right before me and you're telling me to leave her here!?" "*Yes*" "...damn you...!" M looked up towards Houki and Chifuyu. "You two are soooo damn lucky. I'd mop the desert with the both of you!" "...says the little girl who has to go back home to mommy," Chifuyu retorted, holding her wounded right shoulder. M snarled and made a move forward but was once again stopped by Raven. "Let's go," he told her, with slightly more authority behind his voice. "Shut up!!" She shook off his arm violently but didn't attack him this time. "I'm going alright!? Dumbass...!" With that, her boosters fired up much more than nesscary, leaving a huge dustcloud. Chifuyu watched grimly as the pilot called 'M' flew off. Only after a bit did she realize that the male pilot had remained behind and was staring at both her and Houki. "...Ichika...?" Raven shook his head. "I ... am not Ichika. You have me mistaken for someone else." "You are Ichika! You're definitely Orimura Ichika - this woman's younger brother," Houki yelled. "She's been hurt in ways you couldn't even imagine! How dare you claim not to be who you are!?" The young man looked at both of them. "...I haven't seen you before in my life." He turned his back on them, preparing to take off. "...still, take care of that wound." "...you missed on purpose, didn't you...?" The young man froze, but refused to look back. "...the way you flexed your left hand before engaging me - you were excited to try and fight me, weren't you?" The young man's head finally began to turn around... "...that was always a bad habit of yours, my idiot little brother. You always tend to mess up even the simpliest of things when you do that." It was incredibly faint but his eyes had the glimmer of disbelief shining in them. "...who..." "I'm your big sister, you idiot. I'm Orimura Chifuyu. How many times do I need to tell you what you already know?" The young man stared at her, his eyes searching hers almost frantically. Chifuyu only stared back, her mind racing all on its own. Suddenly, the young man's IS engines ignited, propelling him into the air. "N-no! Not yet!" He could barely make out the dark-haired woman below screaming his name over the roar of the propulsion systems that carried him quickly out of earshot. "*Oi, oi, Raven. Didn't I tell you? You're not to engage alone. Big Sis is really angry with you now...*" "I'm...sorry, Neesan." ~*~ Chifuyu immediately went to the workout area. The practice bokken targets fell like leaves before the raw, anger-filled slashes of her katana. Soon her vision became impaired and she threw her katana down in sheer fustration as the tears finally overpowered her will and she fell to her knees. "...he was alive... all this time ...Ichika...is alive...!"

For Rin, it is difficult because she is more of the competitive archetype... She exert Brute force.... If you don't listen, she kick your butt kind of person.
Edit: Competitive Characters has battle Aura, the dragon versus tiger kind.... While YN has death aura. She can literally stare you to death.... she exert mental pressure on you just by smiling until you break down and start crying. The closest we got for YN is Charlotte.... Because YN exert soft power over brute force. And Charlotte does that a lot to Ichika.....
