This is one incident where we get to see Amane's rarely shown side. If you've read the Manga's chapter about Amane, you may have recalled her wishing that the other students wouldn't act so nervous around her. However, as confident as she may be in public around others (even though she secretly gets embarrassed by the attention), she becomes visibly and adorably nervous around Hikari, especially when they're alone and the latter does things for her like in that pic. So cute. ^^

Episode four was so chock full of cliches and yet it wasn't bad. However, I think it will take time for me to get used to Amane's voice

It seems the writers firmly believe in love at first sight. Anyway, the Amane-Hikari-Yaya triangle seems more interesting than the Shizuma-Tamao-Nagisa one, although the latter is funnier. Hikari is cuter than Nagisa and for now Shizuma seems quite a superficial character whose design and appearance I am not too fond of, unlike Shizuma from the manga.
I also got a bit annoyed by all the girls screaming and cheering only because they watched Amane. I get that she is popular but that was a bit too much. Although the same thing happens in almost every anime taking place in a school, I guess this is an obligatory element.

Although I don't recall Hikari being that small ^^;;;. She looks much taller in the original works and her height is more compatible with Amane's, which made me think they look perfect together. But in the Anime... Nye...

Yeah, she is Spica's No. 1 Oneesama after all, even pwning the 6th years. Of course when you have someone who has the aura of a prince in a girl's school, the possibility of rabid fangirls going akogare all over her is near 100%.

Definitely. What she did in Ep 4 was just a small hint of what is to come... I think. But yes, she really is possessive of Hikari (not mega-possessive though). In the novels, she did subconsciously say that she wants Hikari to be hers.

Was so about to drop this (there's only so many times I can laugh my head off at shoujo-ai cliches) but then they bring in Chikaru and Yaya... Shizuma/Nagisa can go tie themselves up in a tree and Amane/Hikari can go ride off a cliff but I want my Chikaru and Yaya!

I actually liked episode 4. It was a pretty decent episode since something is actually going to happen (Etoile elections) which makes up for the no plot yuri factor so far.

Yes, true. I also hope the Etoile elections in the Anime will take after the novel and/or Manga's plot. It would definitely be much more interesting, imho.

I wouldn't even agree with the no-plot factor. We're in the character introduction phase right now. And there are already seeds for several storylines. Shizuma's past. The rivalries between Spica and Miator. The Amane-Hikari-Yaya triangle. Chikaru.

I'm perfectly fine with the way they're developing the story. It certainly exceeds my expectations as a huge MariMite fan, based on what I heard about SP before.

I'm with you all the way in this one. I'm an absolute sap when it comes to characters who have tragedy haunting them. I just get snagged by their dilemma and end up strongly rooting for them.
