Esdese failed to protect him too.

This isn't just any single jagers fault like that one time wave let tatsumi get away from him.

This time they took on this mission as a team and failed as a team, Esdese included.

Esdese is pretty fair with her subordinates so either everyone gets punishment for failing, or nobody does since everyone screwed up including Esdese.

He took enough damage to be downed, but considering none of it was actually visible I doubt any of it was THAT significant.

Really unlikely.

PM's son and his group is here to usurp PM.

Meaning he's going to be targeting the empire. NR has no reason to get in his away at the moment. It makes more sense for them to sit back and just let them duke it out, while his group whittles away at the jagers forces.

Unless they receive a request to take out PM's sons group they have no reason to fight against them.

And even if they did, the chances of two groups with as much mutual hate for each other as NR and the jagers is virtually zero.

Well, Esdese has justification for those behavior. She misunderstood that isn't him, but some evil assassin who killed her subordinates. Just like when you go home wearing a helmet, some nasty clothes and holding a knife. Of course your girlfriend would mistake you for some kind of thug, then scream, attack you or call police.

Justifiable or not whatever chances she had with him died with chapters 41-43 that is clear and official. He hates her for the rest of his life now. Funny how her own bloodlust, selfishness, ignorance cost her her beloved.

Truthfully, it would be nice if they ended up closer, but it seems impossible with the deaths in this manga.

It's a manga, Tatsumi x Esdese pairing will always be possible. When you see a girl can fall in love with her rapist after a lot of hate, the manga are not the real life.

Tatsumi can be brainwashed or Kidnapping and develop Stockholm syndrome...

She wants him to be her lover, not her plaything/doll.

She wants to earn his unconditional love, that's the whole reason she asked bors how to get someone to fall for you.

If she had the intetnion of brainwashing him, she would have done it the first time they met after she captured him, instead of spending all her time trying to get him to fall for her and attempting to impress him.

And Stockholm syndrome will never happen, because tatsumi doesn't relate to, understand, or even like her personality and ideals to begin with.

He's not just going to all of sudden turn crazy too just because he spends some time with her.

Stockholm syndrome is possible if he spends a lot of time with her, his opinion may change.
