Elsword is a 3D side-scrolling MMOG created by KOG studio, currently released in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and German, with the North America server currently at close-beta. It is the spiritual successor to Grand Chase. Elsword has improved all systems Grand Chase had, with its graphic being more anime-esque, gameplay being improved and more difficult, instead of making rooms like Grand Chase, you get to explore the whole world of Elsword (still a side-scrolling world). Like Grand Chase, instead of normal character creations, the players are given preset characters, the first one being Elsword, the hot-headed Swordsman, Rena, the cool and calm Archer, and Aisha, the arrogant Mage. They are expy to their respective counterparts in Grand Chase, being Elesis, Lire and Arme. Other characters include Raven, a war-veteran half-robot half-human, Eve, a robot girl, and Chung, a cannon boy.
Players create room to complete a mission stage, which their objective is to beat up everything on screen, move to the next screen, repeat, until the player reaches the boss. Players are awarded ED (in-game currency) and EXP points for finishing a mission. This game also features the PVP room for experienced players.

main difference:

the area basically side scroll (ala megaman) instead using room (however it still "finished current area to go next")

now class advanced divided by 2 path. generally one is strong/melee/short range type while other is fast/magic/long range.

more emphasize on combo

unlike Grand Chase, where you can basically get every character on your account with no real character creation, you create characters like in normal MMORPGs in Elsword, and everyone already has "Skill Trees" from the very beginning

you can assign skills to A, S, D, and C

you don't have to complete the stage in order to get EXP and items, you get them as soon as you kill enemies and pick them up, however, leaving a stage in progress will cost you money and do significant durability damage to your equipment

there is, unfortunately, a Stamina system, and it does go down pretty quickly these days (9 monsters, boxes, or doors = 1% Stamina), once it runs out, you cannot run PVE dungeons anymore, although you can still PVP, it resets every day at 6 AM on the other servers

there is hint of connection on story to grand chase like elesis is been hinted

I'm still stuck playing GC though, so maybe my opinion towards the game will be biased

This needs to be erased I can't believe that there's still a game that limits grinding

So far, only the first three characters are included. The next two, Raven and Eve, need to be unlocked when they are implemented.

It looks like the level cap is 30 right now, since I noticed a GM at level 30.

Aside from my favorite Eve missing, I have two problems. The job advancement quest at level 15 is strangely missing, and everything sold by NPCs is fairly pricey.

Does this game have damage bonuses for back attacks and aireal attacks? I can't really see with all that's going on in a 4-player run

from my experiences, it's half and half

Regular items = ingame gold

Super good items = real cash

That's the way these free online games work

like GC, is mostly free. there is cash shop we you can buy extra bonus like more xp or money

You really have to see unbalanced ed earn that bad?
Beside,you can switch character too,and do some pvp after your stamina run out.

What if you don't like pvp ? What if you want to focus your playtime on one character ? And how is it unbalanced if you can grind more than others ? That's how it has been always in mmo's .. If you have a '' real life '' then you can't play as much as others.

With that said, I agree with Von Himmel. The game itself looks pretty good though .. When is the Open Beta going to be ?
