Groovy first episode. Really groovy.
A cast of semi-insane characters and a lot of very intriguing plot points introduced already. Couldn't ask for much more out of the first episode. This looks to be my kind of show. And It has Hanazawa Kana! Listening to her is enough reason to watch almost any show alone. Having no experience with the source material or its relation to Chaos;Head, I just hope it doesn't decline in quality as it progresses, as I think that show did.

Spoiler for nothing important:
Of course, after hearing that, I'm stopped collecting any information related to S;G, as I don't want to get spoiled.

Although I was kinda confused, it was interesting enough for me to want to see what happens next. There's certainly a plot forming, and they're doing a good job of leaving questions lingering. Also, Hanazawa Kana is too moe. I think I'm going to die.

Finally watched the first episode...
Hype level has officially gone through the roof now-if they continue like this it'll turn out to be completely amazing. I got goosebumps when Steiners;Gate was used as a bgm during the last scene... Oh man, there too many scene which I can't wait to see animated already. Last edited by yakisobapan; 2011-04-06 at 03:12. |

I like the mystery, even just for the thrill of not knowing where I am in space/time. Some passages gave me the thought "poor man's Durarara," but maybe the characters will become richer. Anyway, the main characters are pretty involving, for me.
And this may be the most moe Hanazawa Kana has sounded since she played Shiika in Mushiuta (new season coming, maybe this fall). But Shiika was a more innocent character than Mayuri, who has an enjoyable sly edge. Doing fairly well on 2channel, at 11 threads (~11,000 posts). Same as Nichijou. (Hanasaku Iroha already has 21. Tiger & Bunny has 5, OreTsubasa 3, Sengoku Otome 2, among early starters.)

Yeah, have no idea what happened. But then again, my brain turned to mush from moe overload of having Hanazawa voice a childhood friend again lol. Seriously speaking, IMO, too much info that raises too many questions in such little time. Couldn't get anything to sink in. Despite Hanazawa being here, I can't say I like what I've seen of Stein's Gate. As it is, it would be an anime I'd just ask someone else how it ended. Even my absolute moe property isn't going to save it (kinda like what happened with Dragon Crisis) lol. Giving it two more eps...

As a fan of the 360 game, I've been waiting for this anime to see how they handle the story in anime format.
I think it's done well. Okabe is even BETTER this way, omg. His dialogue choices in the game are pretty hilarious as well, but his seiyuu really brings life to the anime's script. Kana is always great, so I'm not even going to comment on that. I hate some of the angles they drew of the character's faces, but I can learn to tolerate it I guess. If I could get used to the pancake face in Madoka Magica, I can def get used to this. As for people who find the story confusing... I guess I can't really say much, since I know what happens. But it's not all that hard to grasp -- or at least just the basic contents of the first episode aren't. I mean, really... I'm sooooo happy Itou Kanako did the OP for the anime, too. Definitely nowhere nearly as good as the song she did for the game, though. Skyclad no Kansokusha is an amaaaaazing song, and the music fits the mood really well. And the ED is beautiful. Very dark and pretty. <3 Nice to hear Yui Sakakibara doing something mature, instead of some the cutesy shit she's been up to. >_>
