The only posts I've seen translated are those regarding comments on anime series, I think that's what they really care, so it's unlikely that someone would actually translate this discussion post to post.

As for the apparently large number of Singaporeans here, that's mainly because English is the first language of most Singaporeans. There are likely a lot more Malaysians (they have their own social group; none exists for Singaporeans) and Indonesians, but they are generally not as vocal as Singaporeans (with the exception, perhaps, of Mr Oppai KiNA), possibly because of the language barrier. I do recall a poll for locations in the General sub-forum, but it wasn't taken seriously, since anyone who wanted to reveal his location would have already done so in his profile. |

Only time I have seen my posts translated elsewhere was in a japanese blog that took several comments from the Bakemonogatari section, which then made an article about non-japanese fans of the show.

The AS forums appear to be using Quantcast, which probably means one or more of the admins have access to geographic statistics on the site's visitors (all visitors, not just registered users, although it would probably be a reasonable estimation of the breakdown of registered users as well). So if we want to know, we can just ask them, unless there's some reason they wouldn't want to disclose those numbers. I can't think of any off the top of my head though.

Well, it seems like one of the popular Japanese anime blogs found the top 30 best ranked anime on MAL. I only google translated some of the comments (which are still pretty unreadable for me) and can make out that they're surprised that Gintama is so well liked. Any other general or interesting comments people are willing to translate? Like what do they think of the list? Is it much different from theirs? |

504: *Opening post* 519: >>504 Madoka at 13th? What is this I don't even These foreign guys... 529: >>519 They're expecting 10 minutes of fight scenes, lol 531: >>539 Hmm? So "What is this I don't even" means that you're admiring their tastes? 562: >>519 Well, IS (Infinite Stratos) is ranked 1845th, though 578: >>562 That's awful 525: >>504 Gin-san's going strong! lol 539: >>504 Seems that Gintama's scenes are enjoyed a lot even though we Japanese do not enjoy it that much. 541: >>504 I just can't understand how dem foreigners think. 550: >>504 Gin-san's strength in the rankings is strange, though. They even like Clannad! It just goes to show that there are no borders that hinder one's taste in good series. You got to hand it to them that they really like PMMM, which is a good sign. 589: >>561 You got a horrible assessment there. 585: >>555 Like in Japan, what the community thinks may change over time. 596: >>585 The 2010 series ranking of Animage is not bad too. 569: >>504 Disappear! 573: >>504 Gintama becomes the most liked series by foreigners?! I'm so happy, but at the same time, I don't understand. 579: >>573 Samuraaaaaaaai 591: >>504 How did Code Geass R2 get so high up the rankings?

BTW Is that suposed to be a jab at IS I spy? Cause if so, lol. You know out of the anime listed within that list, I'm glad Gintama is at the top. If I recall right I think a blog took a bunch of posts from here about Sengoku Basara, as that is seemingly very popular over in Japan. That was pretty interesting cause I think it took my post about OYAKATA-SAMA! YUKIMURA! OYKATA-SAMA! YUKIMURA!

If you search only Japanese-language pages, and add "animesuki" into the search query (they usually link back to the original thread) you'll have better luck. And then to avoid having animesuki itself appear, you can add "-site:animesuki.com"
http://www.google.com/search?q=konak...com&lr=lang_ja Konakaga has a bunch... http://blog.livedoor.jp/anime_trans/...s/3120894.html http://blog.livedoor.jp/anime_trans/...s/2679710.html http://shirouto.seesaa.net/pages/use...e_id=162884298 http://japancool.sblo.jp/pages/user/...le_id=40610274 http://www.google.com/search?q=skane...com&lr=lang_ja Although I only found one for you, Skane... http://mistranslationdialy.blog49.fc...-entry-19.html

I used that method that the poster above me used and I saw that my Endless Eight reference in the "Lessons learned from anime and manga" thread was quoted on a Japanese website(although Google translate seems to have mangled it. I noticed a few comments were about the "people die if they are killed" post.
I do wonder though how the Japanese Haruhi fans see the North American Haruhi fandom. |

I found another Japanese blog post about a thread I posted in.
http://blog.livedoor.jp/anime_trans/...s/2709128.html It's about the "Anyone else hide their Otaku?" thread by the way. |

Odd. It seems most of the things translated from my end are about shaft shows (Soredemo and Natsu no Arashi), when I'm more considered as a shaft 'hater' than I am a fan of that studio.
In any case, some of the translated stuff are highly nostalgic (oppai vs flat chest thread lol), and others are surprisingly recent (Hanasaku eps 6). I personally find it awesome that Japanese viewers actually care what foreigners say about their anime. Cheers!
