It also means another character Kanae Itou gets to play.
Come to think of it, we might actually get some "Ohana goes to college" except in the form of Satsuki's past.

Edit: site confirms length. The film will be 66 minutes long. This is exactly 3 episodes long when you remove the OP/ED and add a ~4 minute credit sequence. Each episode was around 23:42 minutes:seconds long.

Also, if you book a reservation through Rakuten Travel to one of the featured hot springs inn on this page, you will receive a clear file with this illustration. For those interested in learning about anime and the real life locations it supports, there will be a symposium between P.A. Works and the Kanazawa area sponsored by the Kanazawa University Area Coordination and Promotion Center as well as the Yuwaku Onsen Tourism Association. It will have three courses throughout the day and covers a night/two meals at Kanaya inn.

From what I've read, the consensus is that while it's short, it's a really good movie. It doesn't feel short, but it's over before you realize. I've not seen a good detailed set of spoilers, so I'm not aware of what it details (in full). They've given it probably the best compliment I wanted to read: it feels like it's a story taken from the middle of the series. It doesn't clash with anything already done afterwards, but adds to it. I think re-watching the latter half would be really fun after seeing the film.
Be prepare to wait a while. We won't hear that until the latter half of the year.

Typically, movies take around six or so months to go from theatrical screenings to being available for purchase. This value varies, hence my question That said, if I had to estimate, October 2013 would not be unreasonable, but I'd still prefer to hang around for the confirmation just to be certain.
