Let me rephrase this: they need to show off more gameplay on a frequent basis . Compare the amount of MK9 footage to MvC3's; the former pales in comparison. I'm going to trust that Netherrealm Studios will start to pick up the pace, because the release date is drawing near.

Well, so fra half of the roster is bene kept as secret, Neterrtealm studios may have something good in their hand to "surprise" I Think.

The thing is, we already have a good idea on the remaining half of the roster, considering how the entirety of the roster is predominantly going to be comprised of MK1-MK3 characters. So there won't really be any surprises there.

Netherrealm's main focus is gameplay this time around, so they should start showing extensive footage of the game.

Great news! MK9 will be featured at this year's EVO. This revelation makes it all the more reassuring that MK9's engine is solid.

Also, here's a new IGN video showing some insight into how the X-Ray moves are done. We also get visual confirmation of Liu kang, Goro, Ermac, Baraka, and Stryker.

I used to love that Walkway stage in the original Mortal Kombat, but I had the censored SNES one eh?

What I've seen of it from that trailer now, I can't wait to play this game~

Confirmed, XBOX version will havce an esclusive guest character as DLC since the release day:

Quote:
The Xbox 360 version of Mortal Kombat 9 will have an exclusive downloadable character at launch.

The concept of an exclusive character was actually pitched to Microsoft first, but Microsoft didn't show interest. After the Kratos reveal Microsoft contacted NetherRealm with renewed interest. Production was already too far along for the character to be included on disc, so it was decided that they would shoot for a day one download.

Expect the official announcement closer to the game's release.

Exactly, Capcom have gone above and beyond in terms of getting community feedback, take for instance the latest vids of Thor that are out, he looks really good in that. Would that have happened without months of people telling Capcom, "Hey man, this Thor guys sucks in this game, fix him". Possibly but in a lot of cases it doesn't happen...

The amount of community feedback Capcom have gained for MvC3 is massive, the amount that MK9 has received is f all. I hope Evo doesn't embarrass themselves with the MK9 selection.

For those picking up the PS3 version of this game, you may also want to pick up the Blu-Ray release of the Mortal Kombat film (scheduled for release the same day as the game), as it comes with a DLC code for Jade's UMK 3 outfit.

-Kano is still against sonya and jax.
-Sindel xray: crotch kick and snaps an elbow backwards then a throw
-Kano Licks his Knife (id immagine this implies hes in aswell)

-"yes, if you press start and down on the d-pad whenever I post, Robo-lupinko is unlocked"-SMoke?
-a "Creepy Laboratory stage" where people are disected."

For starters, adopting the 2.5D way ala SF4 is already a massive step in the right direction. I'm not discounting this installment at all. Hopefully, they dropped the "press special button to block" function as seen in MK3. Lord, that was the main reason I couldn't get into the series.

The block button is one of the features that sets MK apart from other fighters. It's something you just have to get used to.

The fact that MK9 made it into this year's EVO is already confirmation that it's going to be good at a competitive level. This is EVO we're talking about here; they don't just take any game and include it in their line-up.

The producers of MK told the Evo guys what the game was going to be like and that (along with some money ) was enough for them to include it. The problem is games don't always turn out exactly how the producers say they will, Fable anyway? Heck anything made by the guy who made Fable would count.

Heck even if MK9 flops competitively its not like it matters, Evo will mainly be about MvC3 and SSFIV AE anyway and next year Streetfighter X Tekken can replace it hopefully (along with Tekken Tag 2 replacing Tekken 6)

I'm pretty sure a few guys had to have tested out a build of the game. Without actual experimentation, word of mouth and money can only amount to so much.

MK9 is the "surprise" this year, so that's going to give it a lot of attention. Even the skeptics are now intrigued by it.

I think MvC3 will be the biggest this year, followed by SSFIV AE. But in all honesty, I can see MK9 getting more spotlight than BlazBlue CS and Tekken 6. It's new, fresh, and has aroused the curiosity of many players.

Well, in this case, being unique didn't do it too well. To me, the blood and gore (now rendered so realistically in 9) is good enough.

For you or for the series itself?

My bad, Mortal Kombat 9 could surprise MvC3 and SSFlV AE for wht I'm seing.

Many stages, balanced game, a story mode similar to the one at MK -vs-DC, all clasic characters returning plus surprises like Quan Chii and the new MK girl, solid graphics, great music, solid tag-team battle, besT fatalities in MK story, guest characters...

Yes, I think this is gonna be good.
