This episode was a nice pick up on drama from last week's pure comedy episode. I like how in this show everything isn't so sudden, it all slowly builds up for the perfect timing. So excited for next week's episode. I want more Tooru X Ohana!

Am I the only who got "I'm-interrupting-your-wedding-because-I-can't-let-you-marry-someone-else-other-than-me" vibes when Ohana desperately took a bike, train and ran to go get Tooru from the wedding ceremony he was attending? xDD
I mean, I know he´s not the one getting married and she's definitely not stopping him from getting married but still...the vibes...xDD Anyone feel the same way? |

Now this is what I'm talking about. I really liked this episode but I have a horrible premonition that a massive unfortunate misunderstanding is going to happen between Ko and Ohana and that's the last thing I want.

Mostly, I felt "I know you're the main character and all, but you should definitely have delegated that task, probably to Jiroumaru." One thing they're short of is waitresses. Why does she go away on a half-cocked plan to maybe get a cook? (And what is Jiroumaru's job anyway?) I think she's right in wanting to treat all customers equally. The worst thing they could do was let 90% of the customers feeling short-changed. |

Not too sure Jiroumaru would do it,he's probably just go along with what the management lady (I don't even want to know her name) says Also I cheered when I saw Nako coming by bike. The beanman is full of win again. And yes at one point I yelled "balut" at my screen when Ohana was talking to Minchi Am I overthinking things or is the episode title again a war movie reference?

Damn, is it just me, or does anyone else want to smack Takako in the face? I know she means well, but GOSH she was REALLY annoying .
Indeed. While chances are Peanutbutter003's ep 9 prediction will come true, I'm hoping that, unlike certain shoujo tropes, their bond is strong enough to avoid 5 episodes of misunderstanding, and manage to immediately address the situation when it happens(or after the current crisis with the inn has passed). |

That aside, that was an incredibly nice episode. Ohana definitely understands her Grandma's mindset now, and she's even starting to follow in her footsteps. I was delighted she took charge and refused to do things the way Takako (I hate her so much) wanted them too. Ohana was shining in this episode. It's only been eight episodes, but I feel she's already come a long way. That short scene with Yuina was great. Damnit, when will she get more screentime?! I'm dying to see more of her. Needs more Heron too. I was disappointed with the lack of Nako in this ep, but thankfully, she came to the rescue! Seeing her so happy that Ohana relied on her brought a smile to my face. She's so adorable <3 The biggest surprise of this episode came from Ren. I never thought he was the type of person who can't handle pressure. He's always been so cool and confident until now. His "nya~" cracked me up Really, that was such a great episode. Seems like we'll get a lot of comedy next week; personally, I don't mind at all, but I can already hear the moaning...

I was afraid for a while there that this episode was sinking into silly situation-comedy hell -- the worst kind of comedy, for me. But Ohana rescued it. Great character.
Tooru shippers should get a grip. Now that we have seen Kou-chan so ikemen on his bike, we know how this is going to end, even if there are some minor misunderstandings along the way. I mean, we're only about a third of the way through this. And there is absolutely no way that Minchi is going to end this show out of luck. Ohana racing through the streets in her waitress outfit was great. Taking a waitress out of service was not great, but at least a replacement arrived, so they were just short, not ridiculously short. Kou-chan coming without telling her ahead of time was silly, but I don't blame him: the writers did it. They wanted to set up the drama. The plot clumsiness that keeps popping up in this show is a downer, but the characters and the high points make up for it. I am really happy with the developing friendship between Ohana and Yuina, the daughter at that other inn.

Lol if only right? Something like that might happen soon though... Btw why is it always Ohana going to get Tohru? Is it foreshadowing something? xD I was glad to see Ohana becoming more reliable. (She's the most reliable one in this entire episode...) I guess after seeing her grandma's account book she got fired up at how hard-working her grandma was. Ohana is really easily influenced huh? It's easy to tell, especially after that cosplay episode. xD It's surprising to see Ren-san being so jittery once being put under pressure. I didn't expect that from him at all. What's with the "nya" btw? Isn't that a cat meow? *sees the explosion in the preview* Tohru will probably save the day when he comes. That, or Ren-san calms down eventually and gets back to his old self. Hopefully...
