Yo, okay what is up with Neri? She was like talking like she was completely different person (and somehow teleported right on to the cliff...) and Chakuro is not more freaked out about this? Is she always like that or something? Maybe she was possessed by the Lykos of the Mudwhale... hopefully next episode starts explaining all this.
On another note, I admit Ginshu was pretty cute in this week, but Chakuro is probably gonna pay for that later. I do wonder why the Captain of the SDF let them through tho. Does he feel like there is nothing they can do or does he just want fight Ouni? It's hard to understand whose side is he on. Last edited by Applehell; 2017-11-02 at 08:48. |

I'm glad they did find time for Chakuro and Sami's post-death conversation. It doesn't change that she's dead, but I felt better after it . Just a moment for both of them to clear the air on what they did expect from their future and things that were left unsaid before this point. And really with a show like this...I can can buy being able to communicate with the spirits of the recently deceased.

I'm guessing Chakuro just had too much to worry about compared to a teleporting Neri. I mean friends are dead, everything is pretty chaotic, and he did quickly get shown a pretty intense vision. Then he gets dropped with news that the elders are trying to murder everyone....so yeah I think he probably just lost track of questions about Neri at that point. I'm curious with the Captain's choice. My guess is that he didn't want to risk Ouni getting the jump on him while he was fighting Chakuro's group. One of those "I need to give this guy my full attention." But who knows what this guy is thinking. Not exactly someone you'd prefer to trust.

Wow, the secret about Neri revealed is a twist I didn't expect. Looks like the Elders knew about Neri, since that old guy didn't appear at all surprised when she revealed things.
I can't believe there isn't much activity in this thread for this series; it's actually a really good series with nice animation and music in addition to an interesting plot. I figure Ouni and Suou will become a duo to lead the Mud Whale. But things look pretty bad for Masoo...how old is he? Looks like he may be reaching the end of his lifespan. That's sad; he's still so young and a likeable character. Will miss him when/if he goes. Although I wonder why those with Themia die young? Are their powers taxing on their bodies? I'm starting to see maybe a death flag over Lykos after she said she'll put her life on the line to protect the Mud Whale. Hoping this series won't end as a tragedy or bittersweet. Hoping we get to see other nations as well. But from what Lykos said, there may be a world/land beyond the sea of sand.

Last episode set up the twist about Neri, but it was still surprising to learn.
It looks like wheter they like it or not, the people of Mud Whale are going to have to prepare for more battles. The Empire does plan to strike again and they don't have any allies at the moment. I'm curious to see what the other nations are like.

I guess most of my question about Neri was pretty much answered, but got host of new ones too. I did not expect the Mudwhale's nous and her relationship to it be like that. I got to say felt rather sad for it just defenseless wounded. The archers didn't even seem like they know what they were killing. I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that old lady who appeared at the end is nous in human form.
Though nothing too amazing we got quite a bit of nice world-building here too. Quote:

Okay, major death flags waving this latest episode, especially the SDF Captain and Ouni's best friend. Ouni will totally go berserk if he loses his best friend next ep. And that old Rasha, or whatever, woman...I have a feeling she's not all she appears to be.
And that Eyepatch eye is a bag of mysteries himself...his weird eye hasn't been explained and his lack of emotions make me suspicious about his origin... And speaking of origin, was that a hint about Ouni as well, when they said that he seemed to have appeared out of nowhere and his parents are unknown? I would be surprised that they wouldn't know his parents given the size and population of Mud Whale.

Wow, episode 7 is brutal and this seems to be just the beginning of the bloodshed.
I wonder why exactly Ryodari is so violent and heartless though. He pretty much killed two characters this episode without a second thought and even laughed about it. Also, I don't trust Shuan much. He is just too hard to read at this point of the story. Loved the insert song they used this week.

Emi is causing a sandstorm. Those elders need to come clean about their true powers. The Elders kept Falaina's people in a bubble and they are dying because of it. The other people are after them for a reason. Walking into an obvious ambush...

Yeah, they were really naive running into the nous room like that. That's the one place I think there would be guards and it would be best to enter cautiously. But they don't really think suspiciously like that. Though maybe Lykos should have picked up on that sooner. Not that I really blame her too much, she's probably going to feel horrible enough as it is.

From what Lykos observed, the children of Falaina generally have stronger Thymia than the Skylos solders. With how Chakuro deflected those arrows, it's pretty clear that Chakuro's Thymia is also powerful, but he just has trouble controlling it. |

"Destroyer" has only ever been mentioned in context of his clumsiness up to this point. Sure his thyima is strong, but I doubt anyone was referring to him being some talented combatant here. I mean we talking pacifist like society who have rarely ever seen conflict and Chakuro has not been implied to ever be part of it's only militia. He most likely just got from mishaps he caused with his thyima.

It also provides an important clue that perhaps Thymia and strong emotions go hand in hand after all. |

They are pacifists because of the Elders. Wipe out those guys and it would be a different story.
