Is there a place where all of this artist's works are collected?
He's the same of the Shannon and Jessica "lesbians" and the same of the "everyone is good but everyone die anyway" comics, isn't it?

That's how nscriper works. If you tell him that an image must have a transparency effect he will split it in half and he will consider only the left part as the true image and the right part as the alpha channel.
If you don't use alpha channels, nscripter will just show the whole image including the black background. The alpha channel tells which area of the image must appear (black) and which should be transparent (white). The various degree of gray will just tell how much transparent an area should be. As for programs, just take whatever you like. Photoshop, Paint shop pro, Photopaint. Just halve the canvas size keeping it on the left.
