Hibiki Reine art exhibition

For anyone lucky enough to be in Japan this month, Art Jeuness are hosting an exhibition of works by the illustrator of the Maria-mite novels, Hibiki Reine:
  • July 6-10: Tokyo
  • July 13-17: Osaka
  • July 28-30: Nagoya and Fukuoka (not sure how it manages to be in two places at once, but that's what the announcement says)
I guess the rest of us will have to make do with her cover art on Comic Yuri Hime, volume 5 of which is out on the 18th.

Thanks for the news. It's a bit far from where I am though.
About the 2 places at the same time, I guess they just cut the exhibition in half?

Like half the drawings in Fukuoka, and the other half in Nagoya...

Anyways, I wish I could go.

It seems the nice people at Shueisha(?) have taken pity on us - Mangaoh are listing a Maria-mite "Illustration Collection" book due out 2006-07-28 (strangely it's not on Amazon yet, so this date may have slipped). It's 160 pages, a mix of colour and b&w, and from what I can make out it includes book covers, the gatefold art from the Collector's Editiion DVDs, plus new unpublished drawings - I'm deducing that from Google though, so I may have misunderstood.

At Y520 we're not looking at a hardback artbook (alas), more likely the same format as the novels or the manga. Still, at that price I suppose you can't really go wrong...

Here's that full-size artbook I was wishing for a couple of posts back:

Hibiki Reine Art Works
ISBN 4-7580-7003-4
Published by Ichijinsha
Due for release early(?) 2007
Price Y2800+tax

Hibiki-san mentions it on her website, and there have been nice full-page ads in the last two issues of Comic Yuri Hime, but the Animate link is the first retail listing I've seen with an ISBN. Oh well, I guess good things are worth waiting for...
